Music about heroes

Recommended Posts

I've been asked to provide music for a presentation about local heroes. I'd appreciate it if you could give me a few suggestions. Songs about heroes or history would be good, as well as uplifting songs. Think along the lines of "Golden Years" and "Heroes" by David Bowie and "Hoppípolla" by Sigur Rós. It would also help if it wasn't incredibly loud, so it can be talked over.

Thanks for your time.

Wha? If you're talking about the Bowie song, I'd always heard that the subject dealt with an affair the song's producer was having with one of the backing vocalists.
