James Bond

It's simple really what James Bond film and actor do you like the best, not which is the best but which one or two do you prefer over the rest of them.

That said mine would be View to a Kill I love this film and it is Roger's last outing as Bond and makes a great viewing for me and with Roger at his playboy best.

My second would have to be Licence to Kill, I know a lot of people who don't rate Dalton that much as James Bond but in this film Dalton seemed to shine to me and a great performance from him and his last I'm afraid film as Bond. Dalton was a dark James Bond and added a lot to the character that had lacked in some of the other films.

Film(s)

1) View to a Kill

2) Licence to Kill

Bond(s)

1) Timothy Dalton

2) Roger Moore

I haven't seen Daniel Craig and his work yet so I can't comment on him at the moment.

My favourite Bond is Sean Connery hands down. The first three Bond films (Dr. No, From Russia With Love & Goldfinger) featuring Connery were genuine classics. The Bond films with Roger Moore were far too camp for my liking, especially Moonraker. I liked Man With The Golden Gun but that's about it. Dalton wasn't that bad but the general public never took to him. Brosnan was a good Bond, GoldenEye was awesome but I didn't care for the other films he did. I loved Daniel Craig's version of Bond, Casino Royale felt like a 21st century update of Bond.

1) Goldfinger

2) GoldenEye

3) From Russia With Love

1) Sean Connery

2) Pierce Brosnan

3) Daniel Craig

I think my favourite Bond would have to be Pierce Brosnan followed by Sean Connery and Roger Moore. I think Craig could be up there amongst the best but I'd like to see a couple more from him first. As for films, I really like the Brosnan-era films, obviously, so Goldeneye and The World Is Not Enough are probably my two favourites. Live and Let Die comes a close third but I haven't seen that one in a while now.

I can see why some people prefer Dalton, because from what I've read his portrayal of the character was actually closest to the books. (I've only read two of the Ian Flemming books, though, so I can't comment) Too bad his two movies were some of the crappier ones; I can't see how they can be anyone's favorites unless they're actually the first Bond movies you've seen and they're favs for sentimental reasons.

Keep in mind I still haven't seen Casino Royale, but I doubt Daniel Craig would make my favorite Bonds list even if I had.

My 3 favorite Bonds:

1. Sean Connery

2. Pierce Brosnan

3. George Lazenby (yes, he only did one movie, but lets face it: a. Its one of the best movies (okay, top 10, anyway) and b. He was pretty good in it.)

My 3 favorite movies:

1. Diamonds Are Forever

2. Dr. No

3. Goldeneye

(The Man With The Golden Gun is *almost* my pick for #3, due to Christopher Lee being the villain, but loses pts for Tattoo from Fantasy Island being in it and it being a Roger Moore film; Moore is my pick for worst Bond, even though I like Moore as an actor in other things)

What I want to know is, if anyone is willing to answer: What is everyone's least favorite Bond movie? Mine is The Living Daylights, but Live And Let Die would probably be it if not for Jane Seymour being smoking hot in it.

I'd have to say that my favorite film is Casino Royale. It's just the one that has held up the best after repeated viewings. Other favorites of mine are The Living Daylights, Goldfinger, and Goldeneye.

My favorite Bond actor is probably Timothy Dalton. I would list Daniel Craig, as I loved what he did in Casino Royale, but I feel like I need to see him in more than one movie before I say he's my favorite. I just like the more serious interpretations that Dalton and Craig have, it's closer to the books. Connery is the classic and Moore was good too. I liked Brosnan in the role, but he just couldn't get a good script to work with, apart from Goldeneye.

Pierce Brosnan was my favorite Bond. He just had a likeable quality to him (it didn't hurt that he was in the first Bond movie I watched either). I think that after him would be Sean Connery and then Daniel Craig. I'm going to have to watch more Bond stuff, it used to be my favorite series, but its been so long since I've watched any of the movies.

Sean Connery is and always will be the best. Now as for Timothy Dalton I have him as number 2 even though the 2 movies he was Bond were absolutely shite. Daniel Craig is third.

Goldfinger will always be my favourite. Can't decided if I like Goldeneye or Casino Royale for number 2 more though.

1. Connery

2. Craig

3. Dalton

4. Lazenby

5. Moore

6. Brosnan

I just didn't like Brosnan as Bond, he played it too pervy middle-aged-man for my liking without the suave good nature of Connery, the down to earth no-nonsense of Dalton or the knowing-campness of Moore. Also, Lazenby is far better than he's given credit for, it's just a shame he got saddled with a mess of a movie.

Having listed all that, one of my favourite movies is Live And Let Die, but again, probably for the Jane Seymour stuff (mmmmmm, voodoolicious hottie) and the trumpeting funeral march. That had the best setting I feel.

That is pretty much how it goes for me. My problem though does stem from the fact that I can't remember a lot of the other Bonds, having not watched them in several years. All I know is that Connery is the best Bond, hands down, and Goldfinger is my own personal favourite film.

I don't really have a favourite Bond film. They've all just pretty much melded in together for me. Having said that my favourite Bond is definetely Timothy Dalton and then Danel Craig. They would properly kill you, instead of making witty remarks like a cock. (I'm looking mainly at you Roger Moore)

I'm a late bloomer, having only seen the Brosnan and Craig films. Craig wins the actor one hand down in that contest, as he portrayed a far more realistic, gritty Bond. Ditto for the film, although I did enjoy all but Tomorrow Never Dies of the Brosnan flicks.

I'm not really a huge Bond fan by any means, but I find it funny that SO many people were against the idea of Daniel Craig as Bond when it was announced and now it seems a majority are eating their words.

And I think that speaks volumes about Craig and his portrayal of Bond since so many people were against it but he was able to just do his job and prove to everybody that he belonged there.

I think he may end up going down as the best by a lot of people's standards.

Connery will always be the best because he IS Bond. He'll always be the measure of what makes a good Bond. From what's been said in recent interviews by Craig the next film is going to be alot more like what we would usually expect from a Bond film, I just hope it maintains the same 21st Century Bourne-esque grittiness of Casino Royale.

A lot of people have suggested that Criag is more like the character in the books, but I'm not so sure that's true. There's moments in the book that certainly portray Bond as a warmer individual then I fear Daniel Criag's version will ultimately become.

Thunderball and Moonraker are probably the worst Bond moves for me. I don't consider either to be James Bond movies anyway, Moonraker's just a shitty 70's film and Thunderball seems designed purely so they can show off their ability to do a confusing and vastly shit fight scene underwater.

I really hope they don't go down the dark route of James Bond too much. Sure, I think it should have darker elements, and at times Bond does need to be cold, and while I hate Roger Moore's versions there does need to be some sense of light heartedness within the Bond films. The books are the books. There's a gazillion films like that but the James Bond film series combines that with a general "fun living" that makes them all the more endearing for me.
