I like that, when my little brother saw the trailer for the movie and asked me who the bad guy was, I told him I didn't really know. Although it is brutal, what Viedt does is save the world, even though he did it my killing millions.

Did he?

I haven't seen the film yet myself, and to save spoiling it for others who haven't either, I'll be a bit vague here >_>

Is the last page in the comic, the epilogue with the journal not occur in the film?

Well, you know some of what was in the journal because anytime that it focused on Rorscharch, it started with him saying "Rorscharch's Journal..." and I believe it takes the reader up to the point where they left to confront Veidt. So the reader would know that something was up.. but exactly how it was all handled is a mystery to all of us at this point. I think I'm right on that, I can't remember how much he stated about what they found out about Veidt.

I think the only thing that the reader would have to go on is something along the lines of "if Veidt's the enemy, then we're all in big trouble" So theoretically, even if the papers hit with the derogatory headlines all over the world pointing at Veidt, the smartest man in the world could probably easily find a way to weasel out of it I would think. So it's kind of like Rorschach got his win, but also still lost.

My memory is a little hazy regarding the death of The Comedian, is he killed because he finds out Veidt's plan? If so, how does he find it out? Veidt is the smartest man in the world and The Comedian is a blubbering wreck >_>

Comic or movie? I'm seeing the movie tonight so no idea but in the comic,

Comedian accidentally finds the island where Adrian's team is building the psychic alien.

I enjoyed the experience mostly but feel it works way better as a book. The pacing makes the long runtime seem longer and even though the story/characters/visuals were all there I couldn't help but feel disappointed in it. I think it's a better movie to watch on DVD in the comfort of your own home. The visuals were shaky in parts(mostly where violence or blue penis' were concerned), so I don't even feel like the big screen helps it in this regard and the discomfort I felt in the cinema seats just didn't feel worth it. This isn't to say I'm against long runtimes, I've sat through several 3 hour movies and came away happy but this just felt like it took forever tog et to the end.

I guess my criticism is like many others in that, it's just too close to what the novel was. But the difference is the novel was cut into sections and you weren't really forced to enjoy the story all at once. However, I still feel that on a second viewing I'll be able to appreciate it a lot more.

7/10

I'm a huge fan of the book, but I don't fancy going into this all in great detail right now, so I may save it for later. I plan on seeing it again in the next couple weeks, so maybe I'll delve into a huge monologue about everything then but for now...

I feel it overstayed it's welcome a tad, and the ending could have been cut short by about 5 minutes, but it was absolutely phenommenal, and even though I walked in with high expectations, I walked out feeling extremely positive about the whole thing. Some of the visuals were absolutely stunning (the one which'll stick in my mind forever will be Manhatten walking out from the horizon in 'nam whilst Ride of the Valkyries played. That gave me goosebumps). There were a few bits I feel could have been better, and there were a few omissions from the book that I would have liked to see put to the big screen, but overall it was absolutely fantastic.

People who don't understand why Rorschach basically forced them to kill him don't understand Rorschach at all. He made Manhattan kill him because he knew it was the only way that the peace would last, and it was also the only way Rorschach's conscience would allow him to let it last. He wouldn't want to rat Viedt out, but he'd have to.

For everybody saying that they wish "X and Y was included from the book" etc, wait for the DVD. Snyder has said he filmed EVERYTHING from the book, but they had to cut alot to make the time limit. The DVD will be a film version of the book, basically, complete with the Tales of the Black Freighter cut into it, and the missing scenes from the book.

Judging from the 3.5 hour runtime I'm hearing thrown around and having recently read the graphic novel, I doubt the extra time is going to be a catchall.

As for the sex scene, I would argue it is important. Granted, I have yet to see the movie, but recently finished reading the book, and that part was kind of important for the characters involved.

I didn't mind the sex scene, as I thought it was one of the most ideal nerd-romance fantasies ever. You're a superhero, banging a superheroin on your flying ship just after saving dozens of innocent people. Fucking ace.

I will say though that the "climax" made me hang my head in shame.

For clarity's sake, of the movie, the sex scene, or both?

The real disappointment of this movie for me is that I couldn't see it in the cinema, due to the age rating. The Blu-Ray cannot come out fast enough.

That said, it was excellent and I loved it so much. The marker for superhero movies for me is The Dark Knight, and I currently think this might have been as good. I need to watch it properly, but I wouldn't be surprised when I can see all the little details that I find I like it more, which just shows how awesomely I rate this movie.

I didn't hate the sex scene as much as others did. Oddly, I think it kind of fit. It was a bit sleazy/porny looking, and I think that was made to tie into the grimeyness of the film - especially Rorschach's POV.
