Gigs: Girl Talk (on Sunday), Yeah Yeah Yeahs (the next Sunday), Passion Pit (August) and Britney Spears/Ciara (August). Going to see Britney Spears with the partner, so I'm necessarily looking forward to it, but more intrigued.

CDS: Basement Jaxx, Simian Mobile Disco, Hercules and Love Affair, Arctic Monkeys, Air, Vitalic... lots of other new shit, but too much to list...

Just found out today that the Gaslight Anthem is a part of a free festival in Boston on Aug. 1st

I don't know who the other five bands are. Don't care. That first line above is all that matters.

Fuck me!!! That line-up's sodding immense, Metric and Passion Pit (who have released one of the best albums of the year, electro-pop...a more dancey/lot less shit MGMT) and The Bravery could be fun too as long as they stick to their first album, 'Killers-lite' stuff. For free, those four bands are amazing.

Totally didn't know that Pearl Jam were releasing a new album ("Backspacer") in September, so that can be added to the list along with Alice in Chains' "Black Gives Way to Blue" which may also be arriving in September if I remember right. September looks to be real grungified if I'm right.

I'm on the edge of my seat for new Paramore. I pre-ordered the deluxe edition of brand new eyes near the beginning of the month. I suppose knowing I'll be getting all the extra treasures and trinkets makes the waiting much, much harder. Also, I have no money to pre-order the new Breathe Carolina CD. I'm dying.

And insane.

Otep sucks. :shifty:

But I can't wait for the following:

Them Crooked Vultures (apparently the name of the Homme/Grohl/Jones project)

The Melvins' new album "Chicken Switch" (Sept. 29th)

Alice in Chains' new album "Black Gives Way to Blue" (Sept. 29th)

Baroness' new album "Blue Record" (Oct. 13th)

Russian Circles' new album "Geneva" (Oct. 20th)

Between the Buried and Me's new album "The Great Misdirect" (Oct. 27th)

High on Fire's new album in 2010

MGMT's new album in 2010

the Deftones album that was supposed to be out this year that will probably be out next year

I'm sure there are quite a bit more but I can't be bothered at the moment.

  • 2 weeks later...

Can't wait for:

Pearl Jam "Backspacer"

Beastie Boys "Hot Sauce Committe Pt. 1"

Alice In Chains "Black Gives Way to Blue"

Melvins "Chicken Switch"

Them Crooked Vultures material

Need to get:

Medeski Martin and Wood - Radiolarian Vol. 3

Les Claypool - Of Fungi and Foe

NOFX - Coaster

Meat Puppets - Sewn Together

What I'm MOST looking forward to is for Soundgarden to eventually release a B-Side's album sometime in the future. It was rumored after the band's split in 1997 but I saw a Chris Cornell interview from last month about a Soundgarden reunion and he said he has only talked to the former members about releasing this album so I guess plans are back on.

Also Tristy said something about a "best of" Desert Sessions and a new session in the works, which would be awesome!
