I liked the episode, it was the weakest of the season so far, but nothing bad as far as I was concerned. Though I did not know what the fuck the burning things were that Michonne saw until I looked elsewhere (they were the mattresses, in case you too weren't aware).

Thanks for answering that, I had no clue.  Episode 1 was a good mood setter, but after that its just been not particularly interesting, like they really slowed down after episode one to the point where I remember why I prefer to watch this show in a binge instead of weekly.

My biggest fear is that they are going to ruin Negan.  He's a great character but if he is so heavily featured all the time it kind of ruins it.  Maybe its just me but if you want a real bad ass villain, he needs to be rarely seen to keep up his mystique instead of overexposing him.  So far this season we have seen more Negan than anyone else on the entire show.

I'm not sure I'd agree, I think Negan has been the best thing about this season so far. JDM is fantastic and he just exudes charisma and a sense of menace. I think it'd be harder to show how broken Rick is without having the danger looming constantly. Its something different from the ricktatorship and its been needed. I enjoyed the episode, I thought it was pretty slow but it was something i think kinda needed to be shown happening.

That said, I don't know where they're going to go from here. Obviously the group are gonna need to get revenge but I can't see how they're going to get the advantage to do so.

Not really anything spoillerish I think but just to be safe/annoy MDK.

Yes, Negan was looking for her and Gabriel basically interrupted the conversation to provide a cover for the fact she is heading towards the Hilltop.

If I found size 13 rollerskates in the wild I'd be fucking perplexed. The last time I fit into a normal pair of skates was when I was about 12 and I got a pair of Bauer ice skates and that was the last time anything like that fit me.
