This article doesn't paint the same picture of the situatin at Pitt as you do: Pitt Post Gazette

Rodgers was also in the league for 3 years learning under Favre ... and didn't get the job done his first go 'round in the playoffs. Oddly enough, it is his sixth season that he's breaking out in the playoffs. Coincidence ?

Great find!

The whole "he was behind player x" in college is usually pretty dumb. That article makes it seem like he just didn't fit the system. That happens all the time. Even if that wasn't the case that story was still 5-6 years ago.....guys get better. Flacco isn't the first to do that either. Plus your whole "he had to go to Delaware to play" is stupid. you make it seem like good NFL players haven't played for small schools in the past. The greatest football player ever played his college football at Mississippi Valley State. Enough said.. Anyways, Flacco was forced there by NCAA rules was he not? Otherwise he'd lose a year of eligibility. Players transfer all the time. The line is usually "he didn't fit into our system" not "we wanted to keep him".

Can we agree to settle somewhere in the middle? He is not the greatest QB ever (Peyton Manning) but he sure as hell isn't Repko.

Of the eight QBs that played this weekend, Flacco is, at best, seventh. That's only because I think Sanchez is the most overrated player of his generation.

I hope the Jets get their asses kicked, again. Tired of hearing Jet Fan acting like that team is something special. They're good, no doubt, but they were the fourth best team in the AFC this year.

Now that Baltimore is out, I hate every team left in the AFC. Go Pack? The only team with a legitimate chance to beat New England is Pittsburgh. Green Bay *might* be able to pull an upset, but only if they can find some semblance of a running game. New York just doesn't have the QB to get it done.

Sanchez could be compared to Namath. I mean, Broadway Joe DOES have a horrible TD/INT ratio. Of course, even the best QB from that era, Ken Stabler, does, so...

He was 28-42 for 423 yards, 5 total TD (4 passing) and an INT and his offense scored 45 points. It's not his fault that the defense gave up 51. Rodgers with the Baltimore defense would have at least one ring already. Flacco on this GB team would have seen the Giants as the 6 seed.

EDIT: Rodgers' playoff stats are otherworldly, 73.3% completion rate, averaging 323 yards per game with 10 TD/1 INT and 2 rushing TD in 3 starts. His passer rating is 129.4 and the Packers have scored 114 points.
