How much higher can they get, at a sensible price? Schwarzer is and has been for over a decade one of the best and most reliable goalies in the Premier League, has been a massive figure for both Boro and Fulham - playing for both of them in European Cup finals, and has close to 100 caps for Australia. Sure he may not be a blockbuster signing but he is a fantastic shot stopper and it will be a fantastic deal for Arsenal if it goes though.

Exactly, anyone else they'll have to pay through the nose for. Schwarzer is experienced, probably not going to cost all that much and he is proven in the league.

The exodus of Chelsea midfielders continues, as Miroslav Stoch is sold to Fenerbahce for an undisclosed fee.

Stoch, for those unaware, is a promising 20-year-old pacy winger who is in the Slovakian World Cup squad. Having been at Chelsea since he was 16, he spent last season on loan at FC Twente where he scored 12 goals in 44 games to help them to the Dutch league title. It's a very disappointing loss for Chelsea, but probably the correct decision for his career because there's no point warming the Chelsea bench when he can go and achieve a whole lot more in another league.

If he would have stayed at Chelsea, he'd probably have slotted into Joe Cole's old slot as usually being a backup for Salamon Kalou in the AMR position. Now Chelsea are looking increasingly short in both the centre and right side of midfield (more or less so, depending on which formation they're aiming for), so they really do need to buy at least one new midfield player this summer...

Arsenal could get a good goalkeeper for a reasonable price in Schwarzer or even a Jaaskalainen. Both quality goalkeepers who would improve the Arsenal team without breaking the bank unnecessarily so they could spend money on a defender if they wanted.

Still, they could always just absolutely go for it and get someone like Hugo Lloris.

Man, fuck Sheffield Wednesday. Right in the Owl's fat ass

Two players Bristol Rovers wanted to sign and the fuckers stole them from under our noses.

Alright, Heffernan wouldn't have been the answer to our problems, but Daniel Jones would have done a good job damnit!!! >_<

Fuck Sheffield Wednesday. Fuck you all :(

Everytime I hear the words Gerrard and £40m I go laugh.gif

The risk of football is that big name players can increase and plummet in value at any point (see Adriano: one of the top four players in the world at one point... and getting released by Inter two years later)

They should have sold him last season when he was on a high... but they figured that he'd keep his form for this season and it paid off badly. If Liverpools owners believe that he's worth more now than he was last season then they're fucking insane.

I'm sure it's just Jose Mouriniho trolling England... and succeeding.

Benayoun to Chelsea done for anywhere between £4-10m according to a growing number of sources (and I'd imagine the actual amount is closer to £4m).

Sadly for Liverpool, I think this is just the beginning. A creative player who can make just as much of an impact whether he starts the game or comes off the bench sold to the champions of England, further depleting an already worryingly thin squad sold with no manager in charge to stop it.
