Futurama Returned!

I'm going to be that guy and say that I really, really disliked both of them. The first was basically thirty minutes of every single character acting out of character, while the second seemed like a flimsy premise to making the second half one giant "ha ha everybody gets drunk" gag. Did not like, but then again, last season had a pretty weak start too.

I don't know, I think there was a lot of proper justification for that admittedly weak stretch with everyone drunk. They set it up well, had a reason for why it needed to happen (so they had no choice but to rely on Bender to actually do something), and having Patton Oswalt as the giant was a bonus.

First episode was just poor in every regard, though, but yeah, especially the out-of-character stuff. I was getting Glee flashbacks with all the male characters suddenly becoming chauvinistic solely for the purpose of the plot.

Fuckin' loved both episodes - I really don't give a shit when characters break a few basic molds for the purpose of an episode.. because well, that happens in a huge majority of them.

Everything in this episode except for the Chief of Police character is great.

Possibly my favorite episode of all time, the season finale was. Especially the 8-bit portion.

Futurama returned with season seven back-to-back new episodes, and I think I'm the only person in my social circle that tuned in. Really wanted it to be good.

That happened with the last season too, didn't it? Looking back it seems a lot of us weren't thrilled with the first episode of the season but loved the season as it went on.
