Roster for upcoming USMNT camp ... DAMN.

Goalkeepers (3): Tally Hall (Houston Dynamo), Bill Hamid (D.C. United), Sean Johnson (Chicago Fire)

Defenders (9): Steven Beitashour (SJ Earthquakes), Tony Beltran (Real Salt Lake), Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), AJ De La Garza (LA Galaxy), Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy), Connor Lade (NY Red Bulls), Alfredo Morales (Hertha Berlin), Justin Morrow (SJ Earthquakes), Jeff Parke (Philadelphia Union)

Midfielders (8): Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Alejandro Bedoya (out of contract), Mix Diskerud (Rosenborg), Brad Evans (Seattle Sounders), Benny Feilhaber (Sporting Kansas City), Joshua Gatt (Molde), Brad Davis (Houston Dynamo), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City)

Forwards (5): Juan Agudelo (Chivas USA), Will Bruin (Houston Dynamo), Edson Buddle (Colorado Rapids), Eddie Johnson (Seattle Sounders), Chris Wondolowski (SJ Earthquakes)

That's a whole hell of a lot of MLS players.

Because most of the Euro players have other things to do.

Wish Dan Kennedy had gotten a call-up. I rate him higher than Bill Hamid. Glad Gonzalez will finally back.

Also hahaha, what the fuck, why is Edson Buddle there instead of Kenny Cooper or even Jack McInerney?

EDIT: Continuing the curious saga of "what in the world are you planning, Seattle Sounders?", apparently the Wilmer Crisanto deal has fallen through because Seattle may or may not be very close to signing a right-back.

Indeed, but that never stopped any of our other coaches from avoiding an MLS heavy roster. I remember Bradley calling in Dempsey/Boca/Cherundolo/and his son despite all of them specifically asking to skip a camp. Hell, Arena always found ways around it as well.

I'm just very surprised that he's done it, especially considering what he's got in his mind as "proper seasoning" for NT duty. Also, news coming out of DCU that Pontius pulled himself out of consideration because his groin injury isn't 100% recovered.

I echo the Dan Kennedy love. Hell, I'd go as far as to say that Gruenebaum should get a look over Hamid and/or Johnson. I get the fixation with them but Hamid and Johnson both struggled last year and are still figuring it out. Yeah they've got all the promise in the world but DCU and CHI had spells where they simply played very poorly and it hurt both of them.

I'm also curious as to why Dax McCarty was left off given that he opted for Conner Lade. Very weird.

TFC also gets a new head coach in Kiwi QPR defender (and former DCU man) Ryan Nelson. Paul Mariner and Bob de Klerk (technical manager) are out. Looks like almost all of the Aron Winter staff are gone. Once again, it`s musical chairs at BMO field -- six seasons, eight coaches, none with a winning percentage higher than 40%. FML.

Awesomely, Ryan Nelsen will not actually be present for the SuperDraft or the MLS Combine while he completes "obligations" with QPR. Nobody is quite sure what this means. I would laugh my head off if it meant he's going to be there until the end of the EPL season.

"We’re not sure when he’ll join us," TFC president Kevin Payne told media at BMO Field on Tuesday.

HA ... and they let Mariner go before the press conference. Wonderful TFC, brilliant even.

Lloyd Sam as been re-signed by NYRB. Galaxy re-sign Magee and Perk and sign waiver pick up Colin Clark (and the Perk signing seems to spell the end of Saunders).

this is interesting: http://www.soccerbyives.net/2013/01/rsl-set-to-bring-back-robbie-findley-after-deal-with-portland.html

Saunders was done the moment they signed Cudicini. Would have been a slap in the face for that guy to go back to being a backup keeper after two MLS Cups in a row. He's pretty reckless but a good shot-stopper, surely FC Dallas or someone can pick him up.

There was debate on the LA forums if they should keep him another year (incase Cudicini pulled a Rost in his first 10 matches) so they'd still have a "top flight" keeper on the books (like the Gruenebaum/Hesmer issue in CLB). Given his "issues" last season, the club asking for one season wouldn't be a ridiculous request.

FCD is apparently going with their young stud Mexican keeper (Sanchez) and Seitz. News is coming out that Ugo probably will have to retire due to the head issues. If that's the case they need back line help more than GK help.

The word around here is Kevin Harbottle is on his way to Colorado Rapids, he is a spectacular player when he tries, but I think he has an attitude problem. I wonder if he'll end up there and if he will succeed.

The other word around here is Mirosevic on his way back to Universidad Católica from Columbus Crew. I don't know how he has performed over there even if he has played, so I ask you if anyone has seen him play

Yeah, the Rapids forums have been talking about it since before Christmas. Nothing confirmed but many feel it is going to happen.

Mirosevic is staying at the moment. It's been on again, off again as to whether or not he was going back. As of the time of this post, he's staying here with the Crew. He played decently and held the ball well. Good passing but people expected more offensive influence from him. His salary is a bit high given what he ended up being. Everyone pretty much agrees that he's a fine enough player and did a good job ... just wasn't the one they wanted him for.

Kandji and Heinault are currently not on the roster in Houston. Heinault is on trial in Scotland and I have no idea what's up with Kandji.

Leaked TFC kit .... possible Vancouver in the background.

^ Pre-Combine mock draft.

They've got the perfect (on paper) forwards falling to the Revs at the 4th pick (although the one I like, Finley of Notre Dame, should be taken by TFC for cover for their great but oft-injured ST duo). I hope Powers can fall to FCD at the 7 slot, and not withstanding the gem from every draft I don't know that DCU will find the defender they need at the 17th pick.

Apparently Justo Villar is on the radar for Philly and FCD. He's a (tad) younger Mondragon type. He was the starting GK for Paraguay in the 2010 world cup and 2011 Copa America (also captain).

I'd say that'd be a nice pick up for either club (and give FCD the time to properly develop Sanchez).
