Lovefilm/Netflix

I use LOVEFiLM, but my package (£10 a month for 4 rentals - be it games, dvd's, blu-rays) only allows 4 hours of free streaming on the PS3.

I don't use Netflix, nor have I activated the free trial, but from what I hear, it has a much bigger catalogue, and more importantly has no streaming limits.

Granted, there's probably a package on LOVEFiLM that allows unlimited streaming too, but you won't get one for cheaper than the £6 Netflix charges.

EDIT: Oh, and Netflix has HD streaming.

I used both, and I used both on PS3.

Lovefilm is cool, but I'm not really into films enough for it. I only ever watch films as a social thing, never really get the urge when I'm on my own. But they have a vast library, and delivery is prompt and the pricing is reasonable. You might have to wait a while if you're after a popular title or a game though.

Netflix is okay for what it is. It's pretty cheap but the library isn't huge. It's easy to use and reliable though. I've kept my Netflix subscription going, just because it's pretty cheap and I do get the urge to watch the odd TV show from time to time. I believe you can set it up with a VPN that allows you to access the US version which has many more titles. However, I've not bothered with that, partially because I don't know how to, and partially because I'm worried I might lose the UK TV programmes on the US version.

Netflix works for me because I only really watch stuff occasionally, but if you watch more films and TV than me - and pretty much everyone does - I'd recommend Lovefilm for the breadth of its catalogue.

Oh and when I was on Lovefilm I think my deal was unlimited games and films (two at a time) and unlimited streaming for £12 a month. Although that might have been a student offer cause some guy sold me it at uni. Took advantage of me being drunk. I cancelled it when the trial expired. :shifty:

Yeah I've had my LOVEFiLM subscription for a few years now - they get all the new blu-ray releases in, and 4 a month (two at a time max) is a good deal I think, especially when I'm renting a game, because the fact you can keep them as long as you like means you can rotate the other disc and play the game for as long as you like.

I recently got upgraded to 3 discs at the time, unlimited discs per month and unlimited streaming, and I'm only paying a couple quid more than you :/

Is that the £13.27 one - it doesn't include games, apparently.

The cheapest 3 at a time offer with games included is £14.99 - I'm struggling to get through 4 rentals a month as it is, so unlimited rentals wouldn't be necessary.

I killed mine off a while ago due to a number of films being Blockbuster exclusives, not sure if that's still an issue? Either way I eventually decided I'd rather just add Sky Movies to my package and wait a big longer for ze newies.

Every now and then Blockbuster will have a film that's exclusive to them for a month or so, before being made available on LOVEFiLM.

I have Sky Movies too - and if there ever comes a point where a film is on Sky Movies and also on my rental list, I just remove it and set my V+ to record it.

I use Netflix but have recently changed it on the Xbox to the US version because it has a much better library than the UK one and has most of the UK shows on it as well. I mean the UK library is good but its missing TV shows that I want to watch such as Mad Men.

It is worth the 6 quid a month though.

Well it has shows like Peep Show, IT Crowd, Doctor Who, Spaced etc. Think its got Blackadder as well and Red Dwarf but I am not entirely sure.

I would say its worth changing to the US version though unless you really wanna watch stuff like Rosemary and Thyme.
