Hmm im at Lavender town currently. Is there any point in getting a Gastly since it cant evolve to Gengar? I still not sure if I should replace eevee anyway and it helps that you have one member in your party who cant be hurt by physical attacks.

About to enter Celadon City. Here's the team:

Bulbasaur (lv40)

Razor Leaf

Cut

Synthesis

Leech Seed

Sandshrew (lv40)

Slash

Dig

Rock Slide

Swift

Still undecided on the fire Pokemon route. Do I bag a Vulpix while I'm here or evolve Eevee into Flareon? I don't think I've ever used either of them before, tbh.

Nah im using an Emulator on my pc, decided not to go for a ghost in the end though

Got pretty far now, Mainly thanks to the Space button my my Emu and made a few team changes. Have 6 Gym badges now!

Charizard lvl55 - Slash, Fire Spin, Flamethrower & Cut

Been using him alot against annoying 6pokemon trainer battles and he has outleveled everyone else. Should probably take a backseat for now so I can concentrate on leveling up others.

Pikachu lvl35 - Thundershock, Thunder Wave, Swift & Pay Day (Im a money whore)

Yeah theres 20 levels difference between my best and secind best. Pikachu can 1hko all water types and always fights them, while still doing decent damage against others.

Gyrados lvl30 - Bite, Tackle, Ice Beam & Dragon Rage

I think Gyra has pretty decent attacks, I added Ice Beam so that he could fight against Grass types too, as that was his weak spot. I think only electric types have an advantage over hm now and even then they get hurt pretty bad by Ice Beam

Hitmonlee lvl30 - Double Kick, Meditate, Take Down & Strength

Decided to have Hitmonlee in my team, mainly for backup. He has Strength now so that adds to his usefullness. While I dont think I will use him for my Elite 4 fight, He can be usefull between now and then

Fearow lvl23 - Growl, Fly, Fury Attack & Mirror Move

The only reason I even consider using Fearow is as a Fly slave. Apparently Charizard cant use fly, even though he has wings.... so I needed a quick alternative and first bird pokemon was Fearow. He will definitelly not be in the Elite 4 battle, and I wont even bother training it up, as it would be pointless.

Dratini lvl22 - Wrap, Surf, Thunder Wave & Agility

I need peoples opinions here, should I train Dratini into something to fight the Elite 4 or not? Never having used one before I don't really know what I should do. For now I will keep him for the Surf HM and if I dont need him then Gyrados can use Surf so its all fine.

So far these are the Pokemon that WILL face the Elite 4:

Charizard

Pikachu

Gyrados

These are the ones that might be in the team to fight Elite 4:

Hitmonlee

Dratini

And this is the pokemon that most definitely wont be fighting Elite 4:

Fearow

As for replacements, im not really sure yet, maybe if I havent decided by the time I get there, Which is very unlikely, then I might just get a few Pokemon around Victory road. I think I made a mistake in getting Charizard though. Not based on how good it is as he can beat anyone now, but there arent that many good Grass pokemon around apart from the starter, Bulbasaur, While there is plenty of good Fire pokemon I could get. If you're starting a new game on Red/Blue, dont start with Charmander unless you dont want a Grass pokemon, or if you dont mind having a rather crap one.

Massive Update (For Me) Over!

Edit: @Nerf personally I prefer Vulpix, as (if im not mistaken) they learna few better attacks than Flareon. But if you can, try get a Growlithe, Unless you cant as its not on the Game you're playing.

So I decided to play the Ash Gray Hack! So far my Pokemon are Pikachu (20), Pidgeotto (20), Nidorino (20), Charmander (11), Ivysaur (18) and Squirtle (10). I saved Charmander from being left in the rain on his own, Bulbasaur came with me of his own free will and Squirtle was part of the Squirtle Squad before he came with me!

This hack is so much fun, it's pretty much the same game except with tons of extra side missions and fun events! The maps are a bit different, but mostly the same. I'm just about to go fight Surge. :) Also when I beat Brock, midway through the battle his younger brothers and sisters tried to stop it! So much fun.

Just got through thrashing Koga. Here's an update:

Ninetales (lv50)

Flamethrower

Hyper Beam

Secret Power

Fire Spin

Venusaur (lv47)

Razor Leaf

Cut

Giga Drain

Solarbeam

Sandslash (lv53)

Slash

Dig

Rock Slide

Brick Break

Haven't encountered any problems so far, with Gary in Silph Co. being the exception. His Charizard would not die.

Just standing in front of the Safari Zone. Have 4 badges right now, wipped Team Rocket out of the Casino and I already have 4/6 pokemon to face the Elite Four. My team so far:

Venussaur lv. 39

Raichu lv. 38

Growlithe lv. 33

Vaporeon lv. 33

Really like my team so far. Haven't run into any problems yet but one, Marowak or Rhydon? And I really don't have any clue who the 6th pokemon will be.

Just got out of Mt. Moon and I thought it was time for a little update.

Spunky.pngSpunky

- (Squirtle), Level 17 | Tackle, Tail Whip, Water Gun, Withdraw

Ronda.pngRonda

- (Mankey), Level 18 | Fury Swipes, Leer, Low Kick, Karate Chop

Zoila.pngZoila

- (Spearow), Level 16 | Peck, Growl, Leer, Fury Attack

Dodson.pngDodson

- (Pikachu), Level 16 | Thundershock, Quick Attack, Tail Whip, Thunder Wave

Rory.pngRory

- (Nidorino), Level 18 | Leer, Peck, Focus Energy, Double Kick

Not really much new to see on the trainer card but soon I will hopefully get Misty's badge with the help of my thunderous Pikachu power. Compared to the rest of you guys though, I seem to be doing very poorly and/or not playing this game properly at all. :shifty: But hey, at least I have fun. Also I don't know what a Shiny is.

I JUST CAUGHT MY FIRST EVER SHINY :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

OK, so it was an Audino, but FIRST EVER SHINY.

Hey, Audinos aren't that bad. They're like the Chansey of Gen 5.

Anyway, my first update: I'm grinding in the Bellsprout Tower and the surrounding area of Violet City.

THE CURRENT TEAM

CHIKARita, Lv. 11

GeodusClay, Lv. 7

I can't wait until Geodus learns Rollout.

Just hit Cinnabar Island finally.

Goldeen (lv44)

Surf

Horn Attack

Horn Drill

Waterfall

Venusaur (lv50)

Razor Leaf

Cut

Giga Drain

Solarbeam

Sandslash (lv53)

Slash

Dig

Rock Slide

Strength

Ninetales (lv50)

Flamethrower

Hyper Beam

Secret Power

Fire Spin

I caught Goldeen by accident in the Safari Zone. Decided to keep it as I expect her to level the fuck up in Blaine's gym. Not sure who my last two slots should go to yet. My team is pretty solid, I rarely have a Pokemon faint, let alone lose. Any suggestions? I think my boys have Giovanni covered so I could probably use the space to counter my team's weaknesses for the Elite Four.

FINALLY got through Victory Road. Took me about an hour to get through mainly due to the fact that I had a random battle every other step and forgot about Repels. Got 4 members of my team, gonna train them up and add two more from Victory Road. I was tempted to catch Moltres but didnt have any pokeballs at the time, plus I dont go for Larry Zbyszkoaries.

Charizard - lvl60 - Slash, Fire Spin, Flamethrower & Cut

Gyarados - lvl39 - Bite, Tackle, Ice Beam & Surf

Hitmonlee - lvl34 - Double Kick, Rolling Kick, Strength & Take Down

Pikachu - lvl38 - Thundershock, Thunder Wave, Pay Day & Swift

Any Suggestions about who to add?

Just facing off with Lance in the Elite Four. Lost to him the first time, only the second person I've lost to all game! Probably should have bagged myself two filler Pokemon so I can sacrifice them in order to use items in battle.

Venusaur (lv55)

Razor Leaf

Cut

Frenzy Plant

Solarbeam

Seaking (lv58)

Surf

Megahorn

Blizzard

Waterfall

Sandslash (lv54)

Rock Slide

Dig

Rock Smash

Strength

Ninetales (lv55)

Flamethrower

Hyper Beam

Secret Power

Fire Blast

I may not get through the Elite Four this time around. I'm running out of items and Lance's Dragonite is unstoppable.

I finished Soul Silver a couple of weeks ago and Lance was a nightmare then, three Dragonites all L49-50 with no real way of knowing which has Thunderbolt, which has Blizzard and which has Outrage. I got there in the end by using Nidoking to Poison Jab it constantly, Ampharos to ThunderPunch it and Dragonair to sweep up if they got KO'd. Oh, and using about 20 Full Restores per battle.

EDIT: Here's my current White 2 situation, still 2 gym badges and I've just finished an excursion to Relic Passage.

MAIN TEAM
