We only got Del Piero for the A-League because Sturridge would have cost too much.

One day though.......one day.

I find that difficult to believe. I mean there's no way Sydney FC would have got the crowds they have got this year (being as bad as they've been) with Sturridge instead of Del Piero.

Wait, was it even a thing?

I really wish we could still have Maxi and Kuyt because they would've been what we need. Clever wingers who make runs into the box.

Ditto Bellamy.

Eh, I don't so much mind Bellamy not being around because he's so prone to injuries.

I do agree with Boxy that I'd like to see Liverpool looking beyond England for a change, and not for players we're just going to bench (Coates, Sahin, Assaidi). Inevitably, if you dip into the English leagues for transfers you're going to pay an inflated price.

What's the deal about Iraq being the Asian club? Didn't they win the Asian cup a few years ago?

'Cause Iraq is a country not a club. :shifty:

Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge is due to have a medical at Liverpool on Sunday ahead of a £12m transfer.

Liverpool have agreed a deal with Chelsea for the 23-year-old England international and a £60,000 per week contract with the player.

However, any transfer is unlikely to be confirmed until the opening of the January transfer window.

The former Manchester City striker has made seven league appearances for Chelsea this season, scoring one goal.

His last league appearance for the Blues was in the 2-1 defeat by West Bromwich Albion on 17 November.

Sturridge has not featured since Rafael Benitez arrived at Stamford Bridge, due to a hamstring injury.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is an admirer of Sturridge and tried to sign him on loan in August, but the Chelsea frontman wanted a permanent move.

Rodgers is keen to add to his striking options after letting Andy Carroll join West Ham on loan in August and then missing out on former Fulham striker Clint Dempsey on deadline day.

Now we're getting Carroll back next season for peanuts! w00t.gif

After being linked with a move for Barcelona's David Villa, Arsenal are being linked now with young spanish striker Adrián Lopez, from Atlético Madrid. The rumoured price is 15M pounds and he won't get out of Madrid with a salary less than £100,000/week.

Lescott, Barry, Dzeko and Balotelli are all likely to leave Manchester City during this transfer window. But the club also looks to bring in some new talent, as sport director Txiki Begiristain went to South America to try and convince Neymar about a move to the blues of manchester.

With the Falcao deal less likely to happen, Chelsea have set their eyes on Demba Ba, Gonzalo Higuain and Theo Walcott. The club is also set to make a £5M bid for Benoit Assou-Ekotto.

Tottenham are now in the hunt for Crystal Palace striker Wilfried Zaha, along with Man Utd and Arsenal. Rumoured price tag is £8M.

Man Utd are looking to bring Danish defender Jores Okore and Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

Fulham are now the favourites to sign Darren Bent from Aston Villa.

Everton are exploring the chance of signing Scott Sinclair on loan from Manchester City.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp is keen to activate Momo Diame's £3.5M buy-out clause and bring him to the Rs. Due to the interest on the senegalese midfielder, West Ham are looking to bring Liam Trotter in january. Queens Park Rangers are also keen on making a £7.5M bid for Yann M'Villa.

Crystal Palace is keen on Derby County's midfielder Craig Bryson.

Swansea are lining up a move for another spanish player, this time Celta Vigo's striker Iago Aspas.

Reading are leading the race to sign Arsenal player Andrey Arshavin.

Newcastle have St.Etienne striker Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang as a transfer target if Ba happens to leave St. James' Park. Also, Mathieu Debuchy hopes Newcastle revive their interest on him.

Rory Delap might leave Stoke City in January due to the lack of first-team football.

Aston Villa and AC Milan are battling to sign Heerenveen striker Alfred Finnbogasan.

The one about M'Vila is ridiculous. Why would they accept 7.5 when they were reportedly turning down 15-18 for top clubs earlier this year? Also can't see Barry leaving City after his displays recently - and Benny isn't going anywhere for 5 mil.

Delap one seems legit though. :shifty:
