Baddar Posted October 6, 2014 Report Share Posted October 6, 2014 I know it's difficult playing with 10 of us, but one thing I noticed the other night, was that we had no real shape or build up play at all. People seemed afraid to play a couple of passes across the back four and into midfield without hoofing it up the pitch, Sunday league style - it was like we entered the opposition half and attempted that killer ball straight away. Again, it's going to be very hard to get used to playing as a team as numbers/people are always chopping and changing, but I'd like to think that when playing solo, the majority of us do pretty well. RoyWill Rumble Posted October 6, 2014 Report Share Posted October 6, 2014 Considering it may be a while until we can really gel/old habits die hard/we don't have mics, I would suggest it might be good to have a target man striker alongside Robben for those quick counter/long balls/crosses we try until we can discipline ourselves to pass around a bit more. And, again, especially with no mics, it can be a bit hard to kick that habit, as it's hard to communicate and build up play, so you're looking to strike as quickly/effectively as you can. And that can work quite well offline sometimes, but a lot of us just don't have skilled enough dudes to leg out long passes/make really accurate crosses/long passes. I'm useless at taking players on, but usually pretty good at sitting in the middle of the park, playing simple passes and keeping the ball moving.
