Crosby winning the Conn Smythe over Kessel or Murray is hilarious.

I don't think Murray deserved it as much as Crosby. While Kessel had more points, I can see why Crosby got it, he was a beast during the ECF and the finals.

Crosby did everything you can do except score a mountain of goals during the playoffs. His line was great, his +/- great, he made everyone better when he was on the ice. Hard to top that in terms of "value". But I agree, I'd have given it to Kessel who just seemed to close the door on so many games with his play.

Congrats to the Penguins. However, I am also in the "Giving Crosby the MVP award was a joke." category.  What a low scoring series.  I'd be curious to see how the Sharks go about their offseason after losing.  Too early to tell, but I don't think they're repeating this next year to the finals.

Points do not always indicate who was the best player on a team. Kessell was a beast and racked up a lot of goals and assists but Kessell got those goals because of the depth on the Penguins and the lack of depth on other teams.

Agreed, Kessel was awesome, but in the last two rounds it was Crosby being dominant, Malkin was starting to get hot too, might not have been in the scoresheet, but Malkin was dominating in the last two games of the CF and then in the cup finals. Letang also had a strong case too for winning it.

My order would have been Sid followed by either Kessel or Letang.

Leafs got a goalie!

I like the move. Moving forward, Bernier is not the guy. There is risk involved here - Andersen has put up strong numbers, but those numbers come from playing on a team that has had some fantastic seasons in front of him. The Leafs, at least this year, won't be as good. Better then last year and the year before, but not as good as the Ducks over the last few seasons.

Pro sports in Las Vegas are probably gonna fail for a lot of reasons. Hate to be cynical about it, but the market isn't that big and it's reliant on tourists who come for casinos. Now you need those same tourists to also decide "hey, you know what, we don't have hockey back in Minnesota so let's watch some of it." Their minor league team folded very recently due to lack of support.

However, they have an arena and some guy was willing to pony up the absurd $500 million price tag.

That expansion fee seems insane to me. The Wild and Blue Jackets payed $80 million in 2000, and the Jets paid $60 million for relocating to Winnipeg. $500 million is too much. Wouldn't it be better to ask for less and leave the team on a stronger footing financially?

Las Vegas has a smaller TV market then most teams and a smaller population then all the Canadian teams.

GeneralFanager rolled out a neat tool for wasting time running a mock expansion draft. Should be fun to tinker with as rosters settle and the date gets closer.

I do not know enough about other teams to go through it (plus that'd take forever). But from the Leafs....doesn't look like they'd get much from us.

It's a good deal for the Leafs. For some reason, Rychel's stock as fallen. He's still young and could turn out to be a pretty good NHL player for the leafs.

Taylor Hall for Adam Larrson. Holy fuck, Edmonton got screwed.

What the fuck are the Oilers doing? I'm sure they could have got more from several teams throughout the league.

They sure as fuck could have. It's like....yeah, Larrson is good....but he is NOT worth one of the best LW in the league.

It's a one-for-one as well. Nothing else going to Edmonton.

And rumors of Subban being traded today. This is the best day.

....Subban has been traded for Weber.
