Cause he died and that, I've been listening to a lot of David Bowie stuff recently. More specifically, I've been listening to the likes of Hunky Dory, Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and Aladdin Sane to see if I could finally begin to start appreciating them. And I couldn't.

But I guess that doesn't matter. The run of Young Americans, Station to Station, Low, Heroes and the two Iggy Pop albums more than makes up for it. Those by themselves make for a pretty great legacy.

Been a fan since I was in my early teens. The only stuff I really didn't care for was Tin Machine.

Back when I DJ'd online, the Bowie song I got the most requests for was "Magic Dance". Go figure.....

A friend of a friend was planning a tattoo based on Bowie's signature.

In studying it, she realised that the signature - which seems to be just a stylised "Bowie", is actually an ambigram; it incorporates the letters "D R J", for David Robert Jones.

 

Next week is my first DJ set since Bowie died. Still very tempting to break my cardinal rule of not playing two songs by the same artist and just spam a load of Bowie all night.
