I am 100% sure they didn't go at him because he would have thrown the worst fit. They certainly went at him as much as possible the very next episode.

Well due to how the regulations go for Presidential candidates TV, it made sense for them to not show him very often

SNL goes through its phases. There's some years that it is completely brilliant, and some years it is almost completely unwatchable. 

My big gripe with the 40th anniversary special was that they wasted time on a mediocre Californians sketch that went on too long when they probably could have done something classic (Church Chat, Hans and Franz, Master Thespian, etc) instead.

I think QI has run its course. Probably should have stopped a while ago but I fucking love QI and it won't be the same with Sandi Toksvig. I don't have anything against her but its like Chris Evans replacing Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear, it just won't work. I do hope to be proven wrong tho since it is one of my favourite shows.
