If that's all accurate (and it seems pretty feasible) then surely if Madrid were to bid at least 10m euros more than Barcelona then Santos could still profit by accepting it? I'm not sure what the laws are, to be honest. In another line of work I'd guess that there are incidents which merit disciplinary procedures but not criminal prosecution. I know that Evra and Suarez aren't exactly traditional colleagues, but it's a similar situation. In the Suarez case, it very much hinges on whether Evra was offended, so it's an issue between the two of them. In Terry's case, Ferdinand apparently didn't hear at all and it's more a situation of 'celebrity makes inappropriate comments in front of large crowd of people.' EDIT: General, how do you know that the courts will only impose a fine? In a similar situation a fan would be given a three year ban from all football grounds in the country, not a fine.

Makes sense in a way. Evra and Suarez are both employees of footballing companies and have contractually agreed to abide by FA regulations. Racism is a serious allegation, but because of that the FA can be an arbiter. If a member of the public, who has no reason to acknowledge the right of the FA to make a fair judgement, is involved, then it should go through the proper legal procedure.

Fitness cards are a luxury, though - it's not until you have plenty of coins that they're even worth thinking about. I prefer having a larger squad and rotating, but you can also buy a crappy back-up XI of discard-level cards and then play an offline match with them. That'll rest your entire first team and you can pick up the odd tournament bonus.

Best thing to do is buy shiny managers. Gold ones give you +3% to every contract you apply, even if they're just sitting in your club. The bonuses stack, so if you get 17 different shiny gold managers you get 50% more games out of every contract you apply. You can almost always get shiny gold contracts for 300 coins, so they give you 28 games + 14, so 42 games for 300 coins. Makes a big difference towards pushing you towards making a profit every game rather than a loss. Don't use fitness or healing cards until you have way more coins, they're stupidly expensive for what you get. Either have a big enough squad that you're happy to rotate or build two different starting elevens and then make their bench and reserves the other eleven players. That means that playing a single game with either team rests every single member of the other one.

Regardless of whether what they're saying is true, we still don't know what other things were going on in his life.
