  1. Another band I am whoring out at the mo. that seems a little pointless in retrospect are Taken (Myspace) an amazing melodic hardcore band from California who broke up in 2004 but recently reformed for some reunion shows but have sinced announced they will be writing and recording again. Their "Between two Unseens" EP is among the best I have heard and is immense emotional, just, wall of sound, outstanding (Y). For fans of Thrice, This Day Forward, etc... Contained ex-Bleeding Through members, members have since gone on to join/form Circa Survive, Name Taken and Mikoto.
  2. Just been listening to Paige, poppy 5-piece from London playing pop punk ala Fall Out Boy, but with a bit of a punkier edge and nice twinkly piano bits quite nice Paige Myspace
  3. Just fucking finished GTA 4, had a mass of problems with getting the bike to jump to I could get in to the chopper, everytime I went for the jetty i seem to hit a rock or a person and be thrown off, but oh well, it is done

    STAY GOLD, PONYBOY!

This can be neatly summarised as: ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG!!!!!! Best news ever... ish
  5. The whole thing looked great I am really looking forward to the improvements to the media as really I start to get annoyed when every match its "X looks like they are gonn ahave a tough game against Y today" then you have a possible 5 answers, the increased depth is a good move. To answer Scott Mcflys question the 2-D will be included and I am glad of that as I agree with Ellis that I will probs not use the 3-d model every match, however I don't thing the engine will take up too much ram, hell if it only looks as good as early ps2 FIFA and PES games I will be happy as larry I am looking forward to all the new dimensions added in to the game. roll on November as fas as I am concerned, this, the new PES and Force Unleashed are about the only games that are interesting me at the minute
  6. Of being a rubbish band... I think you are on to something there . A band I am gonna put out there is Hundred Reasons, I found Ideas Above Our Station to be a great album, some cracking singles and sing-a-longs, the follow up Shatterproof Is Not A Challenge was just so meh, then I heard nothing for ages and then I heard the third and fourth albums fairly recently and was very happy and suprised with the quality on offer, but just like Hell is for Heroes I just feel they have lost my interest as a band. And prior to the Alchemy Indicies I had a bad feeling about Thrice following Vheissu, but the four recent volumes are an amazingly put together release and show how talented the band are through the diversity of song writing and sounds on offer.
  7. QFE Going all the way back to the band Symposium i have thought that William McGonagle's stuff has been pretty great, especially the first HIFH's album was a scorcher, the second was average in my opinion before the recent self-titled third effort in 2007 being an excellent effort despite the fact I have heard it only a couple of times it made me remember this band for what they are, fucking great, talented musicians who can put out "big" sounding songs. I also partially agree with Reuben, I was sure the band would get bigger and better and the just seem to have lost their fizzle and what made me like them in the beginnning, mind you they're not the first band I have found this with and doubt they will be the last...
  8. One of the guitarists left and they carried on as a very average 3-piece and seemed to lose their edge, also they aren't really considered "cool" anymore as they aren't apparently emo enough for the cool kids to like, no pop=punk only Bring Me The Horizon now .
  9. I think we are all forgetting the biggest piece of business Man City did all day... ... And that is the loaning of Vidal to the Mighty Grimsby Town FC!
  10. Yes but you have to be a sky customer and have all the log-in bollocks as well
  11. From Sky Sports News This day is getting weirder and fast for the Blue half of Manchester
  12. The new FFAF stuff and the support acts on the tour kinda make me wanna go... Cancer Bats and In Case of Fire makes it tempting.
  13. M. Shadows' voice went to complete shit because of the way he was screaming. If he didn't stop, he'd likely be mute at this point, so they had to take a step back and change the way he presented his vocals...which changed a lot of the sound of the band, but I personally prefer City of Evil - present over start - Waking the Fallen. This happens a lot to vocalists who weren't trained to do what they do properly... they hurt their voices to the point where they absolutely have to change, and then whatever they release afterwards is going to be considered "selling out". It wasn't that they decided to go radio-rock when they started getting attention from Waking the Fallen and that tour... it's that they had to make a change, or risk losing their frontman prematurely to throat injury. Thought the voice thing was a cop out and if wikipedia is to be believed: I am with the people who are saying that they enjoyed Waking the fallen but struggled afterwards. The more latest stuff I have heard has been pretty dire to be fair, and the way the band's image is being presented at the minute is a complete turn-off to me aswell.

What a fucking weekend, was awesome, not going in to much detail (as some is well hazy) but I can die happy having seen Rage now, Metallica were awesome Biffy were great but since I am a hardcore Biffy fan that was always going to be true, but I agree with GA sentiments on the set being "Puzzle-centric" and I took enough substance to keep me happy all weekend, was fuckin great! Despite the fact I basically saw noone on Sunday due to a mixture of apathy and bolloxedness (yes that is a word ) A grade weekend!

On the glowing reports of other members in this thread I checked out The Gaslight Anthem, and OMG Holy Shit do I already love this band. Deffo seeing them now, and Stephen Lynch, he clashes with nothing much so I am getting my arse to see him.
