  1. I marked for the superman reference. It was a small little thing, but it made me laugh. I think that's one of the things that make this show so awesome. I'm hoping they keep it around for a long time, there's so much potential.
  2. Slightly disappointed in tonight's episode, something seemed off.
  3. On a complete off-topic note, did anyone see the Tim Tebow ad? All that fuzz for that?
  4. Over the weekend I watched: "Chuck" Season One - 4/5 "Chuck" Season Two - 5/5 I got hooked by watching the first episode of season 3, so I got both seasons and I thoroughly enjoyed both. Probably my favorite show ever. "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" Season One - 5/5 "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" Season Two - 5/5 I downloaded both seasons for no other reason than seeing Summer Glau on an episode of "The Big Bang Theory" a couple of weeks ago and I can't lie this show is awesome. It's a shame it got canceled and that no other network picked it up. "Zombieland" - 5/5 I saw this in the theaters when it came out and I absolutely loved it. Emma Stone and Woody Harrelson make this movie. It's a perfect mix of action and physical comedy. "World's Greatest Dad" - 3/5 Watched it on Netflix, and I liked it. It had it's funny moments and a pretty brilliant ending. I couldn't get into it 100 percent for some reason, but still a pretty good movie. "Gacy" - 1/5 Horrible film that Netflix recommended. Netflix normally doesn't fail me, but on this one it did. "Wet Hot American Summer" - 3/5 My friend from work recommended I watch this. It's a pretty funny movie, but sometimes it's just too random for me. A lot of future comedy stars are in this such as: Bradley Cooper, Elizabeth Banks, Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Michael Ian Black and Judah Friedlander.
  5. I definitely enjoyed this episode. This is actually the first season I've watched of the show, but I get the general story. Oh and by the way, Yvonne Strahovski is just absolutely stunning.

I'm really disappointed with Keith Brooking's comments after the game and as a Cowboys fan, that's hard for me to say. I think Brad Childress put it the right way, it was the Cowboys defense's job to stop them from scoring points and they just couldn't. Brooking's remarks come off as very whiny and I think it makes the team look bad. He's supposed to be one of our defensive leaders and he complains about the fact that the Vikings scored another touchdown. I don't think there's any room in professional sports for players to complain about the other team "running up" the score on them.

    Scrubs Season Nine

I am starting to seriously enjoy this show again. Cole is actually turning into a favorite of mine. I really enjoyed the last 2 episodes. The trick candle bit got me laughing really hard.
  8. 1) The Office 2) Scrubs 3) Friday Night Lights 4) How I Met Your Mother 5) Community 6) Parks & Recreation 7) Entourage 8) The Inbetweeners 9) 30 Rock 10) South Park
  9. "Love Story" and "You Belong With Me" by Taylor Swift
  10. So I've been playing franchise mode a lot and is it just me, or are there better players in the later rounds of the draft now? I drafted a right tackle in the 6th round and when I signed him, his OVR value was an 83. By the beginning of the next year, he had jumped up to a 91. I drafted a cornerback this year and his OVR value is an 84. AWESOME.

How much is this going to cost? I really want to get both box sets, but money is tight right now.

    Funny People

Loved the movie as well. Went out and saw it on opening day, the theater wasn't as packed as I thought it would be. I read some reviews on it before heading into the theater, so I knew it wasn't going to be a flat out comedy, so I was not disappointed. It was very polished and the best Apatow film I've seen yet. I agree the Eminem/Ray Romano scene was absolutely hilarious.

So Plaxico is getting indicted. Personally, I'm glad. I'm sick of famous people getting off lightly or completely off the hook for so much. Source: ESPN
  14. So I definitely like managing in the lower leagues more than in the top leagues. I've started 5 games in the last 2 days all with Premiership teams, and I can't keep an interest after 5 games. So I've started a Wycombe game again, I resigned in my prior game and could never really get anything else going. I think the problem is that I can get them promoted fairly easy, it seems to me that with 2 or 3 really good players you can pretty much steam roll past all the teams in the lower league and even the Championship. This time I'm going to take a slow and steady approach.
  15. So after promotion to the Premiership, I've managed to lose 8 games in a row and sit at the bottom of the table. The season started off very promising as I led Portsmouth 2-1 at half time, but then I go on to lose 2-3. Then the next couple of games we lost 1-0 or 2-1 every single time. I got "blown out" by Man City 3-1. I really came close to beating Man Utd and Arsenal, but I just couldn't hold them off in the last 20 minutes of the game. Do you guys switch tactics throughout the game? I've tried to a couple of times but before it switches tactics the other team just happens to score. It's really annoying. Although we haven't won a game everyone in my squad's morale is still very good, but I don't know how much longer that's going to last. Also I can't believe I still haven't been placed as "Favorite Personnel" for Wycombe. EPL in less than 5 years, c'mon, seriously.
  16. That's probably it. I've sold 35 players and bought 49 or so. I'm starting to play same 11 players as often as possible though. I'm in the Championship right now and I'm starting to lay the foundation for an all UK team. GOT PROMOTED TO THE PREMIERSHIP!
  17. How do you get your Club/Player loyalty stat up? I've been at Wycombe for 5 years now and it's at 6. I've turned down various jobs at higher profile clubs, so wtf? Isn't that loyalty?
  18. Then it's Program Files - Steam - steamapps - common - football manager 2009 - tools - data editor
  19. This came up in my head just now so I figured I'd ask what everyone else has to say. When Sir Alex Ferguson retires who is the most likely candidate to take over at Man U? I think Sir Ferguson has said he expects to be around for a couple of more years, but if he were to retire; let's say after next season, who would you like to take over? Who is most likely to take over? I was just reading BBC's football page and I read the tidbit about Mourinho signing a new deal at Inter, but at the bottom it said something about him possibly returning to the Premiership once Ferguson retires and taking over at Man U. How would you guys feel about that? Who would you personally like to take over?
  20. I wonder what kind of gas mileage he gets?
  21. So my season with Wycombe is going from good to better. I changed my tactics seeings as I can't overpower my opposition any more, not like I could in League 2 or League 1. 13th place coming into February and we were expected to end up in 22nd again. We struggled at the beginning but Pizarro and Di Santo have really started to find the net, but I find that my defense usually gives up a goal a game, so I'll definitely have to rectify that during the summer break. Started a diary in the cube (link in the sig). Since I have 4 seasons already played and working on a 5th, I have a lot of material to write which is good. I hope some of you read it and enjoy it.[/shameless plug]
  22. Halfway through my 2nd season in the Championship with Wycombe. Doing a lot better than in my first season. I've got a pretty decent squad, some pretty high profile names in there, Wilfred Bouma, Claudio Pizarro, Federico Macheda, Federico di Santo, Jack Hobbs. I offered a contract to David Beckham, but he refused to sign. I could've used the boost from T-shirt sales. Also, my chairman sold David Edgar for 3M, which is awesome because I had rejected a bid of 1M earlier, holding out for more.
  23. :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: I just got promoted to the Championship as Wycombe. It's probably my greatest accomplishment in FM history. We hit a rough patch like always in February, but we came together and topped off a great season. I started off as an obscure manager and after 4 short years I am a talented nationally known manager. Also, I took over as Ivory Coast manager, which was surprising.
