  1. You can download a couple of their albums off their site. Might as well check that stuff out before it possibly goes away.
  2. Disturbed, Dropkick Murphys, Mushroomhead, Dope, Ill Nino, Smile Empty Soul, Clutch, Life Of Agony, Seemless, Ten Years, Lost City Angels, Danko Jones, American Minor, Since The Flood, Bury Your Dead, Bloodsimple, God Forbid, Genuflect and a whole buncha local bands. The bolded bands would make me want to go even if that means having to sit through a couple shitty local bands. 10 Years will rock you out, Ill Nino could easily steal the show, and if Disturbed play quite a bit off the new album they should be really good. Danko Jones, it's sort of a weird band but I really dig Lovers Call and the lead singer has some quirkiness to him.
  3. I think the Bears might be able to surprise people if Orton can stay healthy and if the offense plays 110%, the defense has kept the Bears in games for the past few years. With Hutchinson gone and Blake being the backup I really like the quarterback positioning right now, and having Muhammad as another WR just makes the offense have that much more potential. And now, with Benson being signed the running backs are also a dangerous bunch.
  4. Main Stage Mudvayne <Co-Headliner> Tool <Co-Headliner> Anthrax Trivium 10 Years Chevelle Taproot 30 Seconds To Mars Seether In Flames Ra Second Stage The Killers <Co-Headliner> Staind <Co-Headliner> Cold Ill Nino Finger Eleven Shinedown Project 86 Stone Sour Smile Empty Soul It Dies Today Soilwork
  5. 10 Years - The Autumn Effect 10 Years has instances in songs which remind me of Tool, but the entire album is softer than Tool. The band has tons of talent and definitely has become one of my favorite current bands around.
  6. So now we know that it'll be Hutchinson, Orton, and Blake. I feel really bad that Grossman isn't able to stay healthy but sometimes that's just the way things go. I wouldn't be surprised to see him axed soon as he just hasn't been able to stay injury free.
  7. Vox: Howard Jones (Alive Or Just Breathing, Killswitch Engage) Guitar/Vox: Matt Heafy (Trivium) Guitar: Tony Rombolo (Godsmack) Bass: Ryan Martinie (Mudvayne) Drums: Danny Carey (Tool) I like me some Hard Rock/Metal music...what can I say?
  8. Both of the new Disturbed singles aren't bad but the band still hasn't really seemed to do anything different yet. Can I ask how in the hell does Godsmack sound like Alice In Chains? I've heard tons of AIC songs and yet I can't figure out why people claim they are a ripoff when probably the only thing the bands have in common are CDs with "Face" in the title (Facelift and Faceless). AIC was a big influence for them but I still don't see rip offs like you oh so claim. If you don't like Godsmack fine, but please don't jump on the bandwagon of not liking Godsmack and then throw out the "they sound like AIC" claim because it really doesn't add up when I listen to both bands.
  9. CDs I've enjoyed: Trivium - Ascendancy Seether - Karma And Effect Soilwork - Stabbing the Drama Mudvayne - Lost And Found System Of A Down - Mezmerize Audioslave - Out Of Exile CDs I'm waiting for: Staind - Chapter V (August 9) (I strongly suggest people to go over to Staind.com, go to the board, and get the new songs that have been released as they all are beyond everything off of 14 Shades and give me tons of hope for the new CD) Taproot - Blue Sky Research (August 16) 10 Years - The Autumn Effect (August 16) Cold - A Different Kind Of Pain (August 30) Disturbed - Ten Thousand Fists (September 20) Ill Nino - One Nation Underground (September 27) Project 86 - ...And The Rest Will Follow (September 27) Smile Empty Soul - Anxiety (September 27)
  10. Generally speaking, I'm not a huge rap fan but I can easily say I can stand Game more than I ever could 50. I'm sort of hoping Game is able to step out of the G-Unit shadows and see what he can do with the name he's already getting.
  11. Create a 600x400 graphic that showcases your favorite artists. This graphic must contain atleast 3 bands/solo artists and to make it harder chose one sentence from a song by either artist that will be the theme of the graphic.
  12. I enjoy the song even though I had heard that the new album would be much more like Dysfunction as far as loudness goes. I won't lie, it took a few listens before I actually was really able to say I thought it was good. I've heard that Paper Jesus and Falling are both really good tracks but they haven't been leaked so far.
  13. Mudvayne - Lost and Found - So far I'm really digging the CD, not as much as I like The End Of All Things To Come. It's got a different feel to TEOATTC and I absolutely love 'Choices'. Anyone who likes Mudvayne should give the whole album a listen because it's another solid effort in my book. Slipknot - Vol III: Subliminal Verses (8 Bonus Track Edition) - I had the original printing but my cousin lost it so when I went to pick up Lost and Found I also grabbed this because it was on sale for 14.99. People=Shit (Live) and Don't Get Close are the only two bonus tracks I really like so far. The main CD still is good stuff and shows growth from Slipknot over the past few years.
  14. I applied as Setting The Pace, alt-metal band.
  15. Chevelle has been my favorite band since discovering them after hearing The Red on a local radio station in 2002. The thing I like most about them is that they have very decent lyrics and have a sound of their own that I haven't been able to put on any past and present band that I have heard of. I bought This Type Of Thinking Could Do Us In after hearing Vitamin R, The Clincher, and Still Running and the CD has just grown on me as much as Wonder What's Next. And as said above TTOTCDUI doesn't have any bad songs at all. And how to do you even remotely put them in the Christian Nu-Metal genre Pete?
  16. How did Slipknot do live Keefy?
  17. R.I.P. It's really sad knowing 2 of the 4 members have died of cancer, one died from drugs, and now only one is left. I feel especially bad for Tommy as the 2000s have been awful to the Ramones.
  18. Wicker Park - *1/2 The trailer made this out to be a psychological thriller but it wasn't. The plot was something that was believable but it just seemed to drag on after the first 30 minutes for me, as I quickly knew what was happening and it just seemed to drag on from then on. None of the performances were bad. Matthew Lillard really was a supporting actor as he outshined everyone else and got a few chuckles here and there. This just wasn't a movie I had any fun with and I know some will love it, but I personally wish I would've saved the $5.50 for Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle. Bad Boys II- *** I haven't seen the first for quite awhile but looking at this film as a standalone it did a very good job at being entertaining and full of action. I'm sort of in the middle about how the conflict between Lowry (Smith) and Burnett (Lawrence) played out but I guess it really wasn't extremely bad. Overall, this is a fun movie and worth a rent. It even includes a quite funny scene with Lawrence and X. The Girl Next Door- ***1/2 I've heard much about this movie and after my family got it from Net Flix I played it. I knew Elisha Cuthbert was hot so this movie already had a ** rating going in but the movie surprised me with how good it really was. One thing I liked is Matthew (Emile Hirsch) didn't get everything he wanted. The trio had some shining moments that made me think of moments I've had with my two best friends and even some of the actions were spot on to stuff that I've been apart of with the two. I guess I can sympathize with this movie and it made me feel more at home. It is the best of the three I saw tonight and well worth a rental.
  19. The Untouchables ****- I'm someone who is really interested in movies that deal with the mafia and mobsters so this movie entertained me quite a bit. I thought all the characters were portrayed to the point where they were believable threats in their own respects, such as Connery knowing how the mob worked and could use it against the mob when he needed to and even to Agent Stone being the sharpshot of the group. I really enjoyed what Andy Garcia brought to the table as Agent Stone/Giuseppe Petri, just his presence and how he seemed to be able to carry an Italian American accent. Some people might think some scenes in the movie are corny but considering what was around in the mid-1980s it isn't corny in a way some films would be today if using the same technology.
  20. The Rundown - ***1/2: At first I thought they only would show the good parts of the movie in the previews, including one of the monkey scenes. But that scene definitely wasn't the funniest and the movie actually surprised me with a decent enough storyline and an odd but workable pairing of Seann William Scott and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson added good comedy moments to the movie. The only negative thing I will say is that the whole "I don't like guns" part of the story didn't really need to be used because it didn't have a big backdrop for anything. Otherwise, this is a movie I'd rent and enjoy.
  21. This wasn't a bad season, but it definitely didn't come to par with season 1. I wonder if they are going to do a Post-Schmoe special like they did after season 1. And for some reason I find Ingrid extremely attractive and was really wanting to see them have her play around more with Tim which never really seemed to happen.
  22. It definitely isn't Smells Like Gabri....Teen Spirit. And I know it isnt' The Pixies.
  23. I've seen a few threads asking about questions and decided why not try to create an official one. Kliqster might pin this depending on how well it goes so hopefully my effort doesn't fall upon deaf ears. The past few days I've been waking up to some song that has "mullato" and it sorta sounds like Smile Empty Soul, not hard instrumentally but the singer pretty much is sing-screaming.
  24. The Village- 5.5/10 Hellboy- 3.5/10
