So when a wrestler is too stiff and you get a message where his opponent says, "XYZ was too stiff, I could have been injured badly...", does anyone know what the minimum stiffness for this message to happen?

    Wrong section bud.

Yeah so considering this new forum layout is brand new I wasn't exactly which forum to put this in, but considering it would pertain to my modding of the game, I figured this one was the right choice. IDOL can move it if he wants.

So if it's 81 for too stiff, would it be 19 and lower for "he wasn't selling enough?"

btw i love "wrong section guy" he always comes out of nowhere

I believe it's 19 or 29 or lower for stiffness when a guy isn't convincing. Not sure if other stats/variables come into play.

As for not selling enough, it may be 39 or below. This is something you'd probably need to test out by using a light game, maybe the default 2003 data?

  2. Fair enough. That said, a lot of guys in this update have 95s in some skill sets, so it doesn't make sense to have people with 0's...

EDIT: You don't have people with 0 over unless they are literally unknown/backyarders/haven't debuted anywhere yet.

You don't have anyone with 0 brawl because I think everyone can at least pretend to punch or kick. Everyone can run as well or execute the most basic moves like headlocks or what have you.

  3. What's the justification for raising 911's brawl? Even at his best, he was nothing but a big guy who Chokeslammed people, and rarely wrestled a match, more often than not just showing up to hit the Chokeslam. By 2002, he was all but retired, and certainly hadn't improved as a wrestler.

I don't think Brock should really have 85 overness; he was getting pushed like hell, but you'd still see a lot of "Brock Who?" signs, and a lot of the time he came out to complete silence, or the dreaded "Goldberg" chants. "85" would put him really in the upper echelon, which he just wasn't until at least August.

Hayabusa probably shouldn't be in the game at all, at least not as a worker. If he must be, his in-ring stats should all be 0, not single digits. He was paralysed in October 2001, and completely wheelchair bound. Even today, he can only walk unaided for a few minutes at a time, and the closest thing to a "match" he's had since his injury was a few seconds as part of a gauntlet for Kyoko Inoue's retirement show. There's absolutely no reason he should be included as a worker; if he must be in there, he could be there as an owner (WMF) or an announcer.

Lower Jushin Liger's speed to 81

Raise Jushin Liger's speed to 87 and lower tech to 78

Which is it? Personally, I'd say lowering his speed is a better idea. By 2002, Liger's style wasn't too speed-centric, and a lot more methodical and mat-based.

I don't see why Low-Ki should have shooting ability ticked - he's a stiff worker, but as far as I know, he has no background in any shoot fighting.

I'd bring Raven's charisma down. 97 is absurd.

The second was a typo. The 87/78 stats were for Juventud Guerrera, not Jushin Liger. It's been fixed.

Low Ki has shoot fighting ticked in the current game and I'm pretty sure he's trained in MMA.

Raven was one of the best promos in wrestling for a solid decade from around '95 to '05. His promos in NWA: TNA, especially during the feuds with Jarrett, Sabu, and some of the darker heel stables were phenomenal.

Having a 0 in any stat to me means the guy can't work that style AT ALL. Big Show may not be lighting the world on fire with speed-based matches, but he's better than 0. I actually suggested stats that are lower than modern day stats in many cases, so disputing it here means disputing it in the modern day updates by Bill1996 as well. I based a lot of stats on Bill's and adjusted for the time period because he's the best, most consistent updater around today.

  4. I'm looking through the data and have suggestions on stats and stuff. I don't know how much you want to tweak them since it's just one man's opinion, but I'll provide them:

Raise 911's brawl to 40, speed to 2, tech to 3

Raise AJ Styles' speed to 86

Lower Amazing Red's tech to 72

Raise American Dragon's tech to 85

Raise Anthony Durante's speed to 7 and tech to 13

Raise Austin Aries' tech to 65

Raise Bam Bam Bigelow's speed to 25 and tech to 27

Raise Big Show's brawl to 73, speed to 11, tech to 22

I have more suggestions but that's just from what I've looked at.

    EDIT:

Raise Billy Kidman's charisma to 50 and lower speed to 84

Lower Bob Sapp's stiffness to 88 and raise charisma to 79

Raise Booker T's speed to 50 and tech to 62

Lower Bret Hart's brawl and tech to 40 or so... this was after he had a stroke that left him wheelchair-bound for a while, right?

Raise Brock Lesnar's over to 85. He wound up winning KOTR and the WWE Title shortly after this scenario.

Raise Bubba Ray's speed to 15 and tech to 25.

Raise Chris Benoit's tech to 94 and lower speed to 70

Raise Christopher Daniels' charisma to 86

Raise CM Punk's charisma to 77

    EDIT:

Raise Dave Taylor's tech to 71

Raise Diamond Dallas Page's brawl to 72, tech to 44, and charisma to 92

Lower D-Lo Brown's speed to 60 and raise tech to 61

Lower Eddie Guerrero's brawl to 79 and raise speed to 85

Raise Edge's charisma to 88 and lower speed to 66

Raise El Dandy's speed to 67

Lower Frank Shamrock's tech to 70 (I know he was a phenomenal mma fighter but 87 is ridiculous considering he wasn't really a pro wrestler)

Lower Frankie Kazarian's speed to 81

Raise Gary Wolfe's speed to 5 and tech to 11

    Raise Goldust's speed to 16

Raise Haku's over to 60 and tech to 8

Hayabusa - I don't know what to do. He was partially paralyzed at this time and definitely not wrestling. I would put all his wrestling stats in the single digits... but 42 is low for his over - I'd raise that to 65

    EDIT:

I think Hogan was just going as Hulk Hogan by this point - he had won the WWF Title from HHH and lost it to Taker, and I think he was a full-fledged babyface. I would raise his stiffness to 20 and tech to 7

Raise Homicide's brawl to 68, speed to 71, and tech to 69

Lower Honky Tonk Man's charisma to 82

Raise Horace Hogan's speed to 6 and tech to 9

Raise Hernandez's speed to 45 and tech to 40

Raise Hugh Morrus' brawl to 69, speed to 28, and tech to 20

Raise Ian Rotten's speed to 9 and tech to 18

Raise Iceberg's speed to 3 and tech to 4

Raise Jake Roberts' charisma to 88 and lower his behavior to 35

    EDIT:

Lower James Storm's speed to 65 and tech to 65, raise charisma to 70

Lower Jamie Noble's speed to 82

Raise Jay Lethal's speed to 72

Raise Jeff Hardy's speed to 81 and charisma to 77

Raise Jerry Lynn's speed to 82 and lower tech to 86

Raise Jimmy Jacobs' over to 14, brawl to 48, speed to 75, and tech to 55

Raise Jimmy Yang's speed to 89

Raise JJ Dillon's charisma to 76

Joanie Laurer was touring with NJPW at this point, I believe - might want to check

Raise Jody Fleisch's speed to 83

John Kronus should be a non-wrestler as he retired around this time - Silly as it seems, I'd raise his tech to 20 and speed to 40, though

Lower Josh Prohibition's speed to 77

Lower Jushin Liger's speed to 81

Raise Justin Credible's speed to 37, tech to 58, over to 66, and charisma to 80

Raise Juventud Guerrera's speed to 87 and lower tech to 78

Raise Kane's over to 85 and charisma to 80

Lower Mark Jindrak's speed to 55, raise tech to 55, and raise charisma to 55

Raise Masato Tanaka's brawl to 89, speed to 50, and tech to 69

Lower Matt Hardy's tech to 76

Lower Matt Stryker's speed to 72 and raise tech to 83

Lower Matt Sydal's speed to 90

  5. I would put Wes Brisco's over at 58 and Taryn Terrell's over at 55. I think both deserve a modest boost of a few points.

Crimson and Gunner haven't been on TNA for ages, have they? I would lower their over to 60 each. I'd also lower Douglas Williams to 71 in over.

Bully Ray should be around 87 in over right now. He's probably the top heel in the company.

I'd also boost Zema Ion's over to 65. Christian York currently has higher over at 64, even though Ion had a big run as X-Division Champion and has competed against the likes of Austin Aries and seems to be the #2 in the division behind Kenny King at the moment.

Shouldn't AJ Styles' secondary finisher, Superman, be a Top Rope move? I get he springs off the rope, but it's the TOP rope, not like Jericho's Lionsault which is the middle rope... Plus Chris Daniels' BME, which is a similar type move (him jumping off the top rope to execute the maneuver) is Top Rope.

Since when has AJ's Springboard 450° been called Superman? I watch Impact every week and all the PPV's and I have for years and I haven't heard that. The only thing close I can even think of is the Superman Punch he does.

It was called that in EWR, so I was using the name. I don't care if it's called Superman, Springboard 450, whatever.... but it should be top rope, not ground.

  7. - Need finishers for American Kickboxer. - Jumping Roundhouse Kick (Impact) for both
    - Need finishers for Bay Ragni. - Sloppy Splash (top rope) and Splash (ground) ...fyi he may have been Chubby Dudley at this point
    - Need finishers for Buck Quartermain. - Swinging DDT (Impact) and Buck Q Triple Elbow (Ground)
    - Need finishers for Chance Beckett. Chance Encounter (Impact) and Phat Chance (submission)
    - Need finishers for Chris Youngblood. Slingshot Splash (ground) and Crossbody Chop (Impact)
    - Need finishers for Danny Dominion. Dominion's Deliverance (Impact) and Powerbomb to Facebuster (Impact)
    - Need finishers for Doc Dean. Dragon Suplex (Impact) and German Suplex (Impact)
    - Need finishers for Don Montoya. Montoya Death Driver (Impact) and T-Bone Suplex (Impact)

  8. This could just be my opinion, but a lot of the stats seem.. well... low. Maybe not the primary stats necessarily, but the secondary stats seem far below what I would consider appropriate.

Take for example Cactus Jack and Undertaker. You gave Jack a 90 for brawl, which is really good and appropriate. But you gave him a 9 for speed and 9 for tech. Foley was still doing a lot of sick bumps and off the apron moves and such. He was fairly quick and underrated as a technician in this period. His matches in '96 through '99 were solid, some of the best of his career. Likewise, Undertaker only has 77 for brawl (I feel like he deserves a 10 point boost) and only 10 in speed, 12 in tech. This is a man who walked the ropes, dove over them, did a lot of quick stuff, even for his size. As for technique, I don't remember him botching moves hardly ever and he was great at story-telling.

I look at someone like Benoit, who has 88 in tech which is about right but only has 30 in speed... or someone like Rey Misterio Jr. who only has 10 in brawl... or RVD having 41 in tech... Roddy Piper having 5 in speed... Steve Austin (as The Ringmaster) having 10 in speed.

It's consistent, across the board for sure, and it will make the game more challenging. That said, it feels like a lot of the stats could be higher. Maybe this was by design, though, since it seems like it's in all the stats.

EDIT: Some of the over values are messed up if you ask me. Bret Hart being 100 and Hulk Hogan being 96... I get that Hogan was getting boos as his babyface run was going stale around this time, but shit, Bret was getting mixed responses too. With the rise of HBK, he wasn't exactly endeared by the whole crowd, which led to his own heel turn. Plus nobody was more recognizable than Hogan until Austin was in the height of his glory... I don't think anyone should be higher in over, or even on that level. I mean, Savage is higher, Flair is higher... Sting, Taker, HBK... Do you really think all these people were more well-known, more popular than Hogan in America? Hogan was a household name. Sting hadn't reached his peak in terms of popularity yet as the nWo won't be formed for another 6 months and he won't go crow for almost another year.

EDIT2: There's a big gap in speed as well. Juvi and Rey are the only ones above 80 and they're at 90 and 91 respectively. Why put them 10+ points above everyone else in speed? They were phenomenal, but what about guys like Liger, Ultimo Dragon, Psychosis, etc.? They were pretty good as well and deserve speed in the 80s at least.

EDIT3: Just realized you don't have Ultimo Dragon. I hope you plan on adding him, even though he's Japanese... he had worked in Mexico and the US by this point.

  9. Load and ReLoad aren't Metallica's best albums but they aren't the pieces of shit most Metallica fans claim they are. I can enjoy them for sure, and they have a few good singles . Most are from ReLoad, but Fuel, The Unforgiven II, Devil's Dance, King Nothing, Attitude, Better Than You, the Memory Remains, and Ain't My Bitch are all solid songs. Metallica's best albums are the Black Album, Ride The Lightning, and Master of Puppets, IMO.

EDIT: That said, I think St. Anger is the least-appreciated album of Metallica's, and it was pretty bad... but I still listened to it lol.

But yeah, I would say going along with metal, Megadeth had several unappreciated albums. Risk, Cryptic Writings, The World Needs a Hero, The System Has Failed... basically anything from '97 to '04 seems to get ignored, but there was a LOT of good stuff in there. Trust, Prince of Darkness, Crush 'Em, The Doctor Is Calling, The World Needs a Hero, Return to Hangar, The Scorpion, Kick The Chair, Of Mice and Men, Die Dead Enough.... a lot of great songs in that 7 year span.

  10. I have a crappy paint-made signature with some of the bands I'm listening to and some of my favorite bands of the past...

Been listening to In This Moment's "Blood", Thousand Foot Krutch's "The End Is Where We Begin,", and both of Evan's Blue most recent albums, their self-titled and "Graveyard of Empires", as well as still listening to Shinedown, Tool, Lacuna Coil, and others occasionally.

  11. Add Matt Silva to the game if he isn't in it yet, and put him to a developmental deal with WWE.

If he isn't in the game yet you'll need to suggest stats.

Also I know I don't like adding relationships to the game not needed, but Miss Tessmacher and Angelina Love have been bickering on twitter. Maybe add a dislike (or don't since I don't really care, but thought I'd throw it out there).

Eh, they were arguing over tattoos and stuff. Brooke's comments got a little heated, but I doubt that it would affect which promotions they work for.

  12. Anybody have stats for Chris Benoit? (Maybe around 2004/2005)

    Over: 93

    Brawl: 84

    Speed: 60

    Tech: 94

    Stiff: 80

    Selling: 100 (or close IMO)

    Charisma: 71

Tick high spots and trainer. He should be main event or upper card depending on the time frame. His gimmick could be a variety, either no gimmick needed or legitimate athlete or ice man or machine might work. NGN is probably the most fitting for any time period.

I'll leave attitude and behavior up to you since uh... y'know.

  13. I don't think WCW's public image would need dropped by April. If anything boost it 5 points. WWF's should be around the same as WCW's, as they were pretty even right around Mania before WWF slowly started to take back the ratings. WrestleMania was a huge success in terms of buy rate, but WCW was still very, very popular.

A few guys would need overness boosts. DDP, Goldberg, The Rock, maybe Raven and Jericho, possibly guys like Guerrero, Benoit, Kane, Austin, etc. HBK would probably be a non-wrestler by then, too.

  14. Great data, absolutely love it so far!

Remove John Nord, Manny Fernandez, Brian Knobbs and Maxx Muscle from WCW

Lower The Renegades overness to 54

    Deactivate Yokozuna and Owen Hart

Lower George Souths wages to 20000

Remove the loyalty relationship between Hogan and Savage

Add a friendship between Kevin Nash and Rick Rude

Add a friendship between Sunny and British Bulldog.

As mentioned above, Nord was definitely working for WCW. As for the others:

Manny Fernandez worked for WCW in late '97 and I'm pretty sure made sporadic appearances on Worldwide and the other smaller shows. He should be in under an open contract.

Maxx Muscle may not have been. It's hard to tell with the gap in his match history.

Looks like Brian Knobbs wasn't in WCW at the time so I'll remove him.

I added those relationships. I didn't remove hogan/savage because they were still really good friends at this point as far as I can tell.

  15. I assume he means Ricardo Lamas, Korean Zombie, and possibly Clay Guida?

In terms of actual rankings, well, Pettis isn't even ranked. Edgar wasn't either, but he was a former champion at a higher weight class moving down after a very contentious loss to the current LW Champion. Plus Edgar is a natural 135 pounder.

As for Pettis, while I love this match up from strictly a fight standpoint, and I don't care much about the rankings in this case, Pettis is circumventing the logjam at 155. He doesn't want to wait his turn for a title shot (Which I totally understand from both a financial standpoint and the fact that he should have IMO gotten an insta-title shot when he joined UFC).

But I mean, he's the #2 contender at LW and never held the UFC title, so it's not like Edgar dropping down to 145.

  16. Rousey has 10 arms in her MMA collection... impressive. Carmouche had her in some danger. The main event had some good drama, and the whole show (sans the disappointing Schaub and Machida fights) was good.

Dan Henderson has the best chin in MMA. Just amazing. Even at 42 years old, with all the wars he's been in, his chin hasn't deteriorated.

  17. Here's my attempt at stats for Zeb Colter. The in-ring stats are taken from a 1995 scenario. Naturally he should be on a written contract with WWE.

    Zeb Colter

    Heavyweight
    Birth Month: November
    Age: 63
    Brawl: 36
    Speed: 0
    Tech: 0
    Stiffness: 66
    Sell: 70
Over: Maybe around 68? (was originally 48)
Charisma: Maybe around 84-86? (was originally 81)
    Attitude: 92
    Behavior: 82

As was said earlier, Friendships with Jeff Jarrett and Jim Cornette. Can't think of anything else.

I'd give Zeb speed of around 5 and tech of about 15. I don't think he should have 0s in each.

Add Shane Hollister & Scarlett Bordeaux to CZW

Lower Gangrels technical a bit, to 43 is what I did.

Debatable on this one, but make Perry Saturn active again, but fix his stats drastically. He has been making sporadic appearances again slowly but surely in an attempt to start working again.

    Brawl: 58 Speed: 23 Tech: 39 Stiff: 55 Selling: 69

Also, am I the only one who unchecks/doesn't agree with Abraham Washington/Brian Jossie having Fonz Factor AND SS Look? I don't see either of them being suitable for him.

I agree with unchecking superstar look for Washington. Not 100% sure on Fonz Factor to be honest. He was charismatic in his own way.
