  1. The thing is what can Robbo do from down there. He's on the floor pushiong the ball away and then the man falls over him. Clean save like you see in nearly every match! As for today, the reserves did a decent job. Rested some key players and through it unscaved, now for the important business in the UEFA. We can make up the league points.
  2. If they were to do that then the Sunday would be okay As it is we're dwn to make up 3 games in 6 days in the last week of the season. We had it before with the FA Cup game too, where we finished playing at midnight, flew up home next day played cup game. We went there and got a 3-3 draw so we've still got the chance but why break with the rules for this game?
  3. I just noticed... The FA expect us to play away to Seville on Thursday and play Chelsea at lunchtime on the Saturday. What happened to the day off for European teams?
  4. You can't really compare them though. DoW is an RTS, and all Dark Crusade did was add a basic tabletop campaign element in place of a story. M2:TW is entirely different.
  5. Yet Crouch isn't good enough for England Superb performance and Liverpool deserved to win there, Adebayor had a couple of chances for Arsenal but Liverpool were in control most of the game.
  6. I love EU3 but the battle elements of Total War just keep it higher, the problem is since the change to all 3d, they seem to have lost some of the AI elements both on the battle and campaign maps so battles aren't as challenging now as the basic stacks move into province, stacks fight of the past. A game with TW battles and EU3 diplomacy and map AI and we have the best game of all time.
  7. Don't hippos spend most of their lives submerged, or at least loitering near water?
  8. How would you implement Skaven though?
  9. I've just started a game as Ulster (Well Tyrone I think but it's Ulster dangnabit) Trying to work my way through uniting Ireland but unfortunately when I declared war on Connaught Brittany joined in against me and they're now refusing to agree to peace while they have an army stuck in Munster just getting in the way... They're little more than nuisance factor but doesn't make it any better.
  10. That's one of the best features of CoX to me. I played it a bit but got caught up with WoW for a while and haven't particularly got into it. So will probably be going back to CoX. Free expansions though is a great idea, something like they're planning with LOTRO in some elements I hear.
  11. After seeing Nugent yesterday I can see why he's seen as the Trundle of the Championship, arrogant self centred twat. "Yay look at me, I can run after a ball and blast it in from the line with noone near me!" Gotta say that Stevie G showed some fight and was pretty much the only one of the starters who looked really up for it and played his heart out (okay so the defence didn't get to do much) always looking like the one who'd nick us something and did so.
  12. So now he's playing Lennon on his preferred right and using a left winger on the left? Revolutionary ideas in the England management. Of course we SHOULD win comfortably tonight, let's see the media talk it up briefly for a couple of days as the fifth goes in.
  13. Well we've drawn with mighty nations such as Liechtenstein and Macedonia before, as well as losing to global giants Northern Ireland. Home win for Andorra
  14. And in that respect I can see the current régime making some effort, Playing Hargreaves/Carrick in th middle as that holding midfielder and shunting Gerrard on the wing means we have a defined holder and Lamps can get forward BUT you're sacrificing Stevie G in the middle for that. This is what I don't see, why do we need to play the holding player? I trust our defense (providing full backs don't get too over exposed) to be competent so let's see some attacking football rather then using this player as an extra defender. I'm sure that with both players doing what they do for their clubs. As for McClaren, we all know the only reason he's in charge was due to the FA obsessing over an English manager. Big Sam was the only real contender in that field and with the panorama exposé teFA couldn't touch him. McClaren gets the job by default after desperately saving a couple of high defecits. As if noone would thnk to go for it when three down
  15. England aren't THAT good, the sooner we learn t the better. We've got a few good individuals out there but it's nothing. On his day Rooney is good but he has a lot of games where he's completely annonymous and aside from that first competition when Owen got him loads of space he's not really done anything sensational on the world stage. Also not helped by the lack of regularly playing strike partners, AJ plays regularly but I still don't see him as world class. Defence are fine, I know we don't have a lot of depth in full backs but there are a lot of good centre backs in the country. Defensively injuries to the full backs are my main concern. Robbo in goal is also safe, he's made a couple of mistakes for club and country but name me a keeper who doesn't make a mistake. Midfield is the funny one for me, We have Gerrard, Lampard and Lennon. Three top class players who are exciting to watch at club level and have moments for the country (Lennon benefitting more now from a side not lumping it forward all the time) but regardless of the fourth man w should create chances. Okay so with a Crouch in there somone may have got on a couple of Lennons crosses but there were very few times when you feel there was a real chance. Can't figure ou what's wrong with them but maybe as nation we're not that good. Even the top English sides (ignoring Arsenal with 0 English starters when full strength) have foreign players who are essential, e.g. Man Yoo with Ronaldo would be a different team, Chelsea have a large amount of foreign players in key roles, Spus with Berbatov for example. I would expect our players to be able to compete but they don't really do it together.
  16. I made the mistake of playing the first game on this as the Iroquois. Had I read the appendix I'd have spotted the futility of such an endeavour...
  17. Gotta love getting bored and naked stalking people...
  18. Robbo's another in a long line of Spurs keepers to score from their own half... Well two...
  19. It's illegal to leave the field of play and he jumped into the stands and removed his shirt. I'm sorry but that is a yellow card. There's no excuse for removing your shirt no matter how happy you are. It's a long concious decision to deliberately break a known (albeit petty) rule.
  20. Only advantage Chelsea will have is more rest. Hopefully we'll have our injured players back and do a repeat at the lane
  21. *is going to thew Braga game* I believe Barneys been suffering from injuries a lot this season. Would explain why he's completely disapeared.
