  1. I only hate it after a while, partly because of the fact I can no longer see them at smallish places anymore and end up at the back of some massive arena, which unless they are even bigger live and have a spectacle lined up loses some of the magic of the smaller venues. Not to mention live they tend to play a lot of the newer stuff rather then my favourites but everyone does that anyway. As long as the music is still good though I don't feel particularly resentful of the act, hell I've loved their music for so long they deserve their break IMO and I want it. The only negatives it has in my book are the selfish ones outlined above.
  2. I remember a while ago a certain conman saying he would be happy to field 7 of our reserves but never thought he'd actually buy them all Aside from the sales of Mendez, Davis and Pamarot he's apparently interested in Iverson now too. Looks like they've got as amny Tottenham rejects as West Ham! Closer to the current side though, how much longer do you think it'll be before Lee Barnard moves on? The kid's scoring over a goal a game on average for the reserves and I'm sure he's the sort of player who could do well at a high level (scored a hat-trick against Luton's first team the other day) but he's going to be limited to the reserve side for a long time coming especially with talks about the Mido move going on. Could this be another Crouch we're letting go?
  3. I suspect mine would have been one of the disney rereleases too. I vaguely remember Beauty and the Beast . My primary school took us on an annual trip to see them so not sure if that's the first or not.
  4. Well I grew up on the main line into London and everytime I went in to London would go past WHL so they were my biggest local team and runs in the family (mum was pregnant with me when we did the UEFA in '84). Of course since we've moved to the other main line into London I have declined the opportunity to support that big side... I still also go to Stevenage Borough quite a lot (even though Peterborough and Cambridge are closer) and have been known to go and see other local teams occasionaly such as Cambridge City & Histon. I just like a game of football at the end of the day and although I support Spurs and Stevenage if Stevenage are away and I was unable to get tickets for the Spurs game I'll regularly check what other local ames are on.
  5. I've just noticed we still have another left back on our books... ZIEGLER he's had half a year in the bundesliege he can come in and do a job at Sunerland surely
  6. BRING BACK ATOUBA! Kelly was shocking and left me pining for Atouba last night, didn't even contend for the header back across for the 1st goal and then refused to play it into the open man which would've made it 3-1 (surely then we'd have held on In the end we deserved to go out though, Leicester came out in the second half and did everything they didn't do in the first half and we never really adapted to them putting us under more pressure. A poor performance but at least now we can focus on keeping hold of 4th place...
  7. 1) Rooney is not a striker he's an attacking midfielder who is usually misallocated, and is at his best running from midfield. 2) Rooney has no positional sense, what point is there in your pacey striker playing full back when you need to hit someone on the break? 3) INCONSISTENCY - When Rooney has a good game everyone raves about him. Funnily enough he's had far more games where he is entirely annonymous, people don't mention them often... (what happened to him in Europe eh?) 4) discipline - Rooney has none, simple enough, not only is he one of the worst offenders for discipline but again his footballing discipline second rate (abck to the lack of positional sense.) 5) Walcotts got there without the hype. Rooney scored a free kick against seemingly unbeatable opposition. Didn't do much else for the rest of the season, however was talked up to unbelievable proportions by the mass media. Don't get me wrong Rooney is a good player with stacks of potential but has too many little inconsistencies in his game and lacks the mental capacity to be thought of as "the saviour" just yet. Walcott seems to be a more mature player from what I've seen and read about him and I think he could definatly do the striking role better then Rooney. Rooney on his day is unquestionable but once every two or three months isn't the sort of thing that justifies the blind faith shown in him. Hey, who am I to argue with José Mourinho though?
  8. There was a short film (well an hour...) based on the "lets roll" one I saw on ITV last year about it. Fecking hilarious it was with all sorts of OTT, hammy acting with almost every line being delivered with a James Bond heroic swagger. Of course it'll be as fictional as Braveheart but who cares. it'll be good mindless entertainment.
  9. From what I've seen of Walcott I rate him higher then Rooney so it'll be interesting to see what we do with him, I can't believe we'd spend that money just to lan him back though :\ As Jol said I can understand the referee missing it and not taking action at the time due to the Brown incident just before. However what I can't understand is how he can appeal. The incident was brought to the board who looked at it and decided to ban him. Now he's to go back to the same board and appeal, what a waste of time.
  10. My mistake, got Oman and Gabon mixed up...
  11. Does anyone else find the signing of another African to Bolton a little ironic?
  12. Rasiak can do a job short term. He's a competent enough target man (one of few people to get the ball into the net against the scousers this season even if it did end up disallowed) with a decent header but he's obviously not in the same sort of class as Mido and with us chasing that 4th place spot I don't think he's going to be able to influence us as much as the Egyptian could. IIRC we've got Mido until after the Liverpool game on the 14th and in the case of Egypt getting to the final he is away until the 10th of Feb (12th if a couple of days rest given as an example). This would mean Mido misses games against Villa (home), Fulham (away), Charlton (home) and possible Sunderland away on the 12th February. Now that we've got him for the Liverpool game before that run Rasiak should be able to do the job for the side over this period as there's noone THAT taxing in that group. Not to say they are going to be easy games but it's games that we can make do without Mido looking at Rasiak in his brief appearences. The Mido m,ove needs to be made permanent though since although Rasiak can do a job he's nowhere near the class as Mido and I can't see him being made use of too often in the clubs longer term future.
  13. My family had the original speccy that I completly destroyed when I was a toddler, that's what they get for putting the damn thing on the floor. Can't specify exactly on the gaming but I'd oresume it was fairly young on the replacement speccy.
  14. Not really sure on CD's coming out ths year I'm sure I'll end up buying several but I've never been one to get too hyped up before hearing a track or two. DVD's - Rammstein and Nightwish are supposed to have live DVD's coming out soon which should be good viewing. Gigs - Going to Fozzy and Lacuna Coil in the next couple of months, was gonna see Reel Big Fish too but I never actually got round to buying the tickets. Since Rammstein didn't tour with the release of Rosenrot I also suspect they'll come over which should be another great show.
  15. What are the way the points for a dropkick work in the NFL, is it just a single point or does it get more?
  16. Surprisingly good result today getting the 3 points comfortably. All we need is Keano to learn the offside rule and we're laughing...
  17. Last 3 home games we've had them given for us. All of them appeared to be admittedly but that hasn't stopped them not being given usually.
  18. Started watching the DVD box set earlier and watched the commentary for "Rose" and heard something very upsetting from RTD. "Mickey is back in series 2 as a companion". I hope he's had second thoughts on this one, can't fecking stand him
  19. Anyone notice how now we're in the top 4 we've suddenly started getting penalties? I love being one of the top sides we start to get things given in our favour
  20. A good bet would be to look at your local library, bound to have lots of different little collections there for you to hand pick one that suits you. The one next to my desk at the moment is called "the mammoth book of Haunted House stories" (there's a massive series of mammoth books you may want to check out) and it's quite good with a mix of spooky stories of all types, some of them are pure thrillers with great tension while there are a couple of romance ones as well for variety. Not read many others in the series but thoroughly intend to when I have the time.
