  1. The Faroe Islands and FIFA seem to think not
  2. I'm still kind of offended for Scottish football that there are some teams who'd rather make money then take pride in their nation (ok it's Scotland there can't be a lot there to begin with ). Scottish football is in a fairly low state both domestically and internationally and the two biggest teams from one of the biggest cities decide they want to pull out, and people support this notion? English football could survive if Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea left. There is depth here in that you've got plenty of big clubs on the global scale, there are people in Argentinian villages without televisions who have heard of teams like Liverpool, Everton and Spurs. Top class players are happy to come to the premiership and not just the top one or two clubs either, Klinsmann, Kluivert and Zola all were prepared to come over here and play for teams not enjoying any success (Zola being the beginning of an Era for Chelsea they've not seen since the 50's). Would Scottish football do this? Would players like Larsson be prepared to come and play for such legends of the game as Kilmarnock? I doubt it and as a result Scottish football would only decline, look at the Welsh league, the three biggest Welsh sides are in the English league, and Welsh games get attendances of a few hundred if they're lucky, less then the average Forest Green game in the Conference. The same would happen to Scotland. But who cares, Celtic and Rangers will make a few quid...
  3. Leeds had no option, when you have a player having an affair with a team mates wife and most of the team want him dead it's difficult to keep them for much longer... ←
  4. How does the Liverpool scenario work on FM? With two games to go I'm going to finish 5th in the Premiership definately. 7 points behind 4th and 10 clear of 6th. It's part of the price I've paid by resting my main players for the game before a vital cup match. ON the plus side of got the European Cup Final to come against Barca. I'm doubting that I'll win but just in case, what is the way the game resolves this incident?
  5. I couldn't help but notice the bottom of the screen where it said similar threads. From now on I'll never be able to watch the old Star Treks without thinking of bestiality... R.I.P Mr Doohan
  6. Lol, where'd you hear that? ←
  7. In football I play centre half, centre forward or left wing/back. Also played as a goalkeeper as a kid but was left crushed after a game against Darren Bent... In rugby I play second row, kind of forced into it due to the height, played as a winger or flanker a couple of times with injury problems but do the job reasonably. Finally a wee bit of American football where I played as a wide receiver seen as a fairly easy target due to the height and speed, good at running routes to.
  8. I am a bit skeptical as to whether or not Tottenham actually have made a bid or not. He might just be another brilliant player in a long, long, long, long list that "nearly signed". I mean, moving to them would be a step down from Sevilla. ←
  9. I play it quite a lot and still enjoy it. My brother seems more addicted then me so at least if I'm not playing it we're getting something out of the monthly fee, which was my biggest concern originally.
  10. No, blunders happened, however when they did happen something was easier to do to sort out this mistake, with a grey area it is far easier to fuck up and not get any form of action taken against these people. With the old rules it was easier to spot repeat offenders and have them dealt with accordingly. With passive offside it is far more down to opinion then a strict ruling which is what causes problems as far as it all goes. I suppose your also against the idea of video referees to determing if it's a goal or a corner/goal kick as well?
  11. Yes it has been made clear, the same way it's supposed to be clear when a ball goes 3 feet over the line. The fact is even with the other two pairs of eyes there can be "mistakes" made and anywhere when these sort of fuck ups can happen need to be taken out of the game. Offside used to be something that was just black and white and nobody could argue about it, you either were or you weren't now you have the "he is but does he matter" factor. As you said they can't reprogram referees to make them better so do you really believe anything will happen about fines? Mark Clattenberg missed a blatant goal as did his officials and he never even had to explain it, "oh I made a mistake" was all it took and the same will stand here. Which is why passive offside is the most ridiculous thing about the way modern football is played.
  12. The fact remains it is up to the officials if he was passive or not and when they ignore the initial one as passive they always stick with it when the ball goes to the offside player who puts it in. More often then not these goals are given and there are many many goals that SHOULD be disallowed now, they're not though and thats the problem. Certain players have done very well in the last couple of seasons by abusing this system RVN springs to mind as a great example with his tactic of walking backwards just to turn round and tap it in from his offside position.
  13. I think it varies from store to store unfortunately. You're best bet is to keep hold of them and then when Game or somewhere like that do a trade in 5 games get x for £5 get rid of them on mass.
  14. Which STILL means PASSIVE offside IS bollocks AND doesn't WORK. A Referee CAN still "NOT notice" the BLATANT offside and GIVE the GOAL. Thats the POINT people are MISSING. Until they TAKE a DEFINATE black and white RULING it will always be CRAP.
  15. I've seen it a few times to, I think the AI managers ability has way more effect sometimes on a clubs fortunes then the players managerial ability. I daren't say that Martin Jol or Santini (depends on an update) made a hash of things but was able to leave the core intact and someone has gone in and made some tactical changes linked with his preferences and things have clicked better.
  16. Tell me about the series, without spoiling anything, you've got my interest. ←
  17. The problem is as you pointed out there he's not interefering. A second late the shot comes in ball is dropped by keeper and spilled to the feet of B tapping it into the net. He is not interfering but a second later he is but the goal is given. That's the problem with passive offside, it's bollocks.
  18. Club all the way, I can't wish suffering and injury upon these players just to get behind them for a couple of weeks every two years and I really can't think of any reason why I would. I'm the same with supporting an English club in Europe, why just because I'm told they're representing me and my country should I decide to want people like Arsenal to be sucesful?
  19. There was always something similar in place as far as blocking the keeper went about. If a player ran off the field of play after crossing the ball he didn't count as offside, they were then able to casually stand in front of the goalkeeper and deflect the ball past. Similar to the way RVN and Henry as well as sooo many others abuse the "passive" offside rule. We need something black and white like it used to be, why should the game be open to corruption and simple fuck ups like this?
  20. Arsenal talking about trying to swap Campbell for Jenas apparently. Guess the talk of all the financial problems has a little more substance now :\
