  1. Daily Fail, living up to it. Utter scum.
  2. A legend. I hope he had a wonderful (semi)retirement after all those memorable calls. I always loved that you could hear his smile. Pretty sweet playlist I just stumbled across. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9C3C3005F1B44E7F
  3. I couldn't NOT share this fan art. Finnish pokémon ideas. They explain some backstory in the thread. I need more of this. I want a whole Northern Europe region now.
  4. Bob Vylan are very much not pop punk but are fucking tremendous punkers. The Bronx also kick arse and mayyyy do a secret Mariachi El Bronx set. They could easily cut it down to two days with two great line-ups, but oh well. Sunday looks especially weak as fuck.
  5. I finally saw Love & Thunder on the plane. Such a disappointment. I can't believe they wasted Gorr on this, but oh well. Really liked Wakanda Forever. Overall though, Phase Four went strong on the goof factor, for better and worse.
  6. I think teams generally avoid allowing goals to ensure there's no suspicion of collusion or match/event fixing. Rangers scored about 10 minutes later and it finished 3-2. It's interesting seeing some players with seemingly no concept of sportsmanship. I actually liked McGregor not just stepping out of the way, must be one of the hardest things to accept as a goalkeeper. Plus, the Rangers fans might have lynched him if he didn't do what they would do.
  7. I move about 11,000km away and we start fucking dominating?! Maybe I was the unlucky charm...BUT FUCK YEAH! Randomly celebrated with a random guy wearing a Scotland top in the street. After watching Scotland beat Argentina, after Russell was back in the squad, I always fancy us winning the Calcutta Cup, but the momentum is a breath of fresh air. Whatever happens now, we'll be happy. Had a wee tear in my eye for Doddie. So glad we won the inaugural tie.
  8. That's a badloss for Goodwin, but an absolutely Darvellous result.
  9. I've been having a weird deepdive on older songs, from Bach to traditional tunes. For some reason, I had never heard of this and it's made me laugh multiple times. Yorkshirians are funny. The best thing is I know the musical tune through sheer osmosis somehow, but all the words are new to me. There's some grand pub renditions on YouTube too, but this had the words (and "translation to English" haha).
  10. Anyone fancy joining up for a bit? I need to evolve something. Temporary link code is 2C1FQW.
  11. Apparently the film is a big deal in England. I'd never even heard of it until after Shannon died. She was a kid in England at the time and they were looking for American kids on a casting call or something. The film was done at Pinewood.
  12. Doesn't Canada also have a fairly decent Croatian, English, Serbian, Polish, etc diaspora? Sounds like some writer is telling on themselves.
  13. Also featuring Shannon Spruill/Daffney!
  14. Home Alone is something I feel the need to watch every year. When I was at uni we watched Joyeux Noël every year, since we had an international bunch or people whenever I was flat sharing. The cast is also international and they use English, French, German and even Latin in the film. I always feel the need to recommend it since many a drink, laugh and cry were had to the point where I don't feel right about sitting watching it myself. It's based on the Christmas truce of 1914.
  15. This seems like a silly argument regarding Scotland. They have a good team and could beat many of the qualified teams, but you could say that for a massive number of other teams who aren't there. Scotland are another team with no star attacker. This tournament does show that FIFA rankings are a bit of a joke, and that the quality of global football is elevating to better compete with South America and Europe. I've been enjoying the game here, Australia have been one of the most surprising teams of the tournament. I remember thinking their move to the AFC was maybe a mistake, but they are always seeking a higher challenge, even when they don't have their own superstar like Messi and are facing him down at the World Cup. They've done themselves proud, much like the US did earlier today. Still not over yet. Phew. Argentina survived that scare at the end there. Well done both teams...as a soon-to-be Kiwi I have to say I admired their sheer tenacity.
  16. Hahaha, I kind of love it, they seem to sneak up on me a lot. I find it funny how all the wild ones crowd around to watch, like "oh yes Barry, give him the horn". So civil, until the battle ends. I've decided to just explore the whole map since I got bored after hitting a brick wall at the psychic gym, discovered a level 50 pokémon that likes to kill itself using Memento so I've decided to evolve everything I don't want to use. I also like that I can catch over-levelled beasts, which if I recall was impossible in Sheild/Sword. So sometimes I can out-tactic certain wild encounters for massive EXP. My dex is sitting at 247 and now that bastard teacher wants me to catch 400! How many are in this game?! Pretty low on the missions complete, 3 titans done, 3 gyms and 1 team base done. Currently find myself in the middle of a snowy mountain range. I don't use the fly function much (usually when I'm stuck somewhere) so I suppose I do enjoy the explorative aspect of this game, especially when compared to previous entries. I wish they just made the gyms level up with you. The areas of the game should be kind of random, which they seem to be. I really like being able to run into a level 60 Gyarados and having to run like hell or something. I keep meeting new pokémon in the wild and they scare or weird the hell out of me. Makes it very exciting when you catch the first one you ever see. From memory I've caught Varoom, Veluza, Tatsugiri, Dondozo, Kilowattrel (before I saw it's pre-evo), black Taurus, Flittle, Rellor, Bramblin and Tandemous in that way.
  17. I think it's natural. USA have lost a winnable game (especially in this tournament). Especially after that exciting goal from Wright. USA should be proud, they went undefeated in a tricky group.
  18. Well, yeah. But it's a bit like calling your kid Wheeler Honda. It's just a name that makes me smile.
  19. I was thinking more a geriatric superhero, but that works too. I've liked Weah, I hope he develops and makes it into the host team squad in 4 years.
  20. What a bizarre name. All I can think of is this.
  21. Absolutely static in defence. Again. This is their biggest issue, honestly.
  22. How the fuck has he scored that? Deserved some luck, GAME ON.
  23. Jurgen Klinsmann's thoughts are that the US team are lacking experience, which is true when you think about how young their players are, especially the front players.
  24. US defence really needs a kick up the arse. It's been the biggest difference so far. The Dutch look so comfortable, can't see them losing a two goal lead.
  25. This kind of early goal gives the US a great chance to tweak their response and keep piling on the attacking pressure they had going. Netherlands are gonna be evil and try to wear them down, which is the smart thing to do when you have so many reliable and calm passers of the ball. Expecting the US to crank up the pace and force a mistake. The big risk is another fluid counter attack from Netherlands.
