  1. My ex ex (like two girlfriends ago) was into her N64 when I was with her, but rarely actually played it. We're still friends now, and she's into timesplitters and all that jazz, and is actually fairly good at it (I suck at FPS games, with the exception of goldeneye, where I am more Bond than Bond himself). My ex used to like playing 'girly' or 'kiddie' games, but she also used to like watching me play Silent Hill and Manhunt. Sick bitch. My current bird thinks I'd rather bang my Xbox than I would her (she's wrong...most of the time) and doesn't understand the appeal of gritty, realistic 'adult' games. She does kinda like games though, and plays a lot of emulated Mega Drive stuff on her laptop. But she's better in bed than the last two. So it all evens out really
  2. I've used them numerous times, they've always been fine. In fact, delivery has been next day usualy.
  3. Seriously, best game music ever.
  4. I've had a leaked copy for a while now. It's goooooood.
  5. Apsham, the game does have a tendency to be kinda robotic, and linear. You have to get everything just right or everythng goes wrong for you. But the fun comes when you do get everything just right.
  6. Anybody got this yet? I picked it up the other day, andI'm enjoying it so far. I've loved all the splinter cell games so far and this only tweaks the formula slightly, but just enough to make it seem new. Seriously though, sneaking around a cargo ship in a monstrous blizzard, picking off the crew one by one without being detected is one of the only genuine thrills I've had from a video game for a while.
  7. I don't wanna sift through 22 pages of replies, so this may have already been answered, but is the Xbox 360 version gonna feature downloadable songs via the marketplace? Cuz that would be awesome.
  8. I actually don't mind the idea of episodic games, as long as the price is a fair reflection of the fact that your only getting a fraction of a game.
  9. Not all time favourites, just recently. 1 - Norma Jean 2 - Glassjaw 3 - Horse The Band Go!
  10. I sold a giga pack (with the 1gig memory card) and 2 games (Tony Hawk and GTA) on Ebay for £150, although I needed a quick sale and probably could've got more. A Basic PSP in good condition should go for around £120ish quid I reckon. That's what Id pay for one anyway.
  11. Cloudy seems to know what he's talking about. And that is what I meant 6 pages back when I was talking about emo becoming a dirty word. I remember when emo was good. Rites of Spring are widely regarded as one of the first emo bands around, they kind of broke away from the hardcore scene and started doing emotive hardcore, hence the term emo. Bands like Embrace and their ilk soon followed. The second wave of Emo came with bands like The Promise Ring and Sunny Day Real Estate, who evolved it into a softer style of music, but still keeping many of the same basic principles. JEW and the like were bands that followed on from this. Emo purists will piss on the Finch and Taking Back Sunday suggestion though, whereas I would class them as 'modern' emo in a way. It is all a rather pointless argument though, because most casual music fans will not look back at the roots of a movement before they start labelling any fag in mascara as emo. Although it's funny that a term that was originally coined as an insult, then went on to define and categorize some fantastic music, has now come full circle and is once again an insult.
  12. I downloaded the Xbox Live demo the other day, and I wasn't particularly impressed with it to be honest. I've purchased each version of the series so far, right back to Smackdown 1 on the PS1, but couple the less than impressive demo with my general apathy towards wrestling nowadays and I don't think I'll bother with it this year.
  13. I'm sure you were thinking the same thing last year. Just because emo can be good, don't be a bitch.
  14. I find this a fairly impossible question, as I'm sure I could name several albums that are all equally as good as the last. So, I'll go with the album that had the biggest impact on me, and the biggest repercussion in my musical taste. And that album is..... "Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence" by Glassjaw The album that got me back into 'heavy' music, after being totally turned off by the Nu-Metal explosion in the 90's (not that it all sucked, but it got so popular that I could've formed a band with my gran rapping and it would have sold, the quality really suffered). It also lead me to discover other awesome bands, and not to mention Daryl Palumbo is an excellent lyricist. EDIT: As for other albums I could have chosen: Several Smiths records A couple of Bright Eyes records Weezer - Pinkerton Cable - Sublingual (which I'm pretty sure NONeof you will have heard of) and probably many more.
  15. I understand and agree with both of the points made above me. The music business nowadays eats up anything that becomes mildly popular and dilutes it down so much so that what it becomes is not even close to what it was meant to be about. It's happened with ALL of punk music and it's derivatives really, and it's a shame (to me, as a music fan) that something that was meant to carry a strong message has become just another 'fashion'. It also winds me up that if I say I listen to emo people assume I'm a mascara wearing whiny pussy.
  16. To add to this topic and possibly start a bit of debate, does anybody else hate the way Emo has been bastardized into a dirty word? The roots of actual 'Emo' are so far removed from My Chemical Romance and bands of their ilk that it isn't even funny.
  17. Anyone played this on the 360? I'm a massive RPG fan, and I'm quite liking this at the moment. It's perhaps a little 'RPG-lite', as it kinda leads you by the hand through most things, and I didn't face a tough battle untill over 6 hours into the game. But the battle system is fun, and the graphics are nice and pretty, and it just has that whole Japanese RPG 'feel' that I love. So, anybody played it? And to make this thread a little bit more worthwhile, what new RPG's are you looking forward to? Mass Effect on the 360 looks fantastic, and I'm still hoping for a new KOTOR game myself.
  18. How come everytime a band with guitars has a hit people start banging on about 'rock revolutions'?
  19. Trigun does actually sound awesome, I might have to look into that. For whoever said Street fighter and Fist of The North Star, I've seen them both (I actually own Street fighter, but forgot to mention it) and enjoyed them both to be honest. Street Fighter was dodgy as fuck but still awesome purely for the fact that it's Street Fighter. I've been meaning to watch Steamboy for a while actually, so cheers to Stokerino for reminding me of that. I think I'm also gonna check out Bubblegum Crisis and Samurai Champloo too. Cheers for the reccomendations guys, keep em coming if you can think of anymore? EDIT: Also, while I'm here, I know I mentioned Play and Amazon as 2 sites I use but does anybody know of any other good sites to get stuff like this from?
  20. Ok, I'm mildly interested in Anime, but am in no way a fanboy so try and keep the reccomendations fairly mainstream so I can find them. I own and enjoy Akira, Ghost in The Shell, Metropolis and Cowboy Bebop, I've also owned at one point Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D and various others that I dont remember the names of which I sold on ebay when i had a big clean out. So I'm not looking to buy any of these again. I tend to prefer the sci-fi cyberpunk kind of stuff (Akira/Ghost in the Shell style), so anything in that kind of mould would be awesome, and preferably it should be available on Play.com or Amazon. So yeah, resident Anime buffs, reccomend away!
