  1. Last week I spent.... Xbox 360, oblivion, pgr3 - £300 Saints Row - £40 Tomb Raider Legend - £20 Condemned - £18 Random Original Xbox titles - £20 That's about £400 in about 20 minutes. I used to spend a lot on CD's and I'm still prone to DVD spending sprees, especially when there are like 3 for £15 offers on.
  2. When I do weights I put 'After The Eulogy' by Boy Sets Fire as the first track on any workout playlist I ever make. It always get's me pumped. I also listen to it whilst drinking vodka before I go out partying. It's versatile like that.
  3. I bought both those books off ebay. Depending on how much you wanted to pay, I'd sell em via paypal and ship 'em to (i asssume) portugal for you. PM me or something if you want?
  4. That bluegrass version of 'Gin n Juice' is odd. Incredibly awesome, but odd.
  5. William Shatner doing Common People William Shatner doing Rocket Man Wiiliam Shatner doing Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds.... ....William Shatner doing anything really.
  6. I used to have this game on my old Xbox, ages ago. It was a beast of a game, and i frickin' loved it. I only played through it once though and I basically stuck to being a good guy. What I'm wondering is if I play through again but as a bad guy, how different is the game? Like, does much stuff change, do I get better abilities etc? I assume it has a different ending? Oh yeah, same question for KOTOR II aswell.
  7. I picked this up the other day, and its similarities to GTA are blatant. But GTA was awesome, so Saints Row, by default, is awesome too. Just unoriginal. Id be up for a online gang thingy, not sure how to do it, haven't had Saints Row online yet. Add me, I'm xSiberiankissx.
  8. I saw them yonks ago just after Infest came out, and they were totally out done in every way by Hed P.E who were supporting. Papa Roach were a bit shite to be honest.
  9. I am xSiberiankissx. I've only had my Xbox a few weeks though. What online games would you lot reccomend? At the moment I have: PGR 3 Tomb Raider Legend Oblivion Saints Row ...and a bunch of original Xbox games. Can I play original Xbox games online on the 360?
  10. I saw this last night and I loved it. Randall's depiction of the LOTR trilogy was spot on too
  11. • A landmark partnership between Academy Award-winning writer, director, and producer Peter Jackson, Academy Award-winning screenwriter Fran Walsh, and Microsoft Game Studios will create two new interactive entertainment series exclusively for Xbox 360 and Xbox Live®. The first will be a collaborative effort with Bungie Studios to co-create the next great chapter in the Halo® universe. The second will be an entirely original property targeted at bringing new audiences into the captivating world of interactive entertainment. In addition, Microsoft Game Studios will partner with Jackson and Walsh to establish Wingnut Interactive, a studio dedicated to the creation of world-class interactive entertainment. Sounds interesting, although I'm not really sure what it means :ohwell: • Halo® Wars is an all-new real-time strategy game based on the legendary Halo universe and designed exclusively for Xbox 360 by Ensemble Studios, creators of the Age of Empires® franchise. Halo Schmalo really, never got into it, and RTS games bore me. Next... • Rockstar and Take-Two will provide Xbox 360 gamers with exclusive access to two epic downloadable episodes of Grand Theft Auto IV via Xbox Live, each with hours of new gameplay content, and available only on Xbox 360 just months after the release of the title. Depending on how much extra play these provide, definite thumbs up. This is what Xbox live should be usd for, not just FPS multiplayer deathmatch shite. • Ubisoft confirmed that the next Splinter Cell title, the installment after Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell® Double Agent™, will be exclusive to Xbox 360, a testament to the ability of the powerful next-gen game console to deliver experiences no other console can match. One of my favourite series of games, Double agent looks awesome and I'm sure the Xbox exclusive title will be too. • 2K Games confirmed that BioShock, a first person shooter that will revolutionize the genre and forever change the expectations of gamers, will be released exclusively on Xbox 360 and Microsoft® Windows® next spring. Holy Hyperbole overload captain! I'll reserve judgement on this. • Project Gotham Racing® 4, was unveiled, the latest addition to the best-selling franchise, made exclusively for Xbox 360 by Bizarre Creations. PGR4 promises to continue the series' pedigree of innovation by introducing exciting new experiences to racing fans worldwide. I like the scope of PGR3 and it's a fun game, but I'm not big on racing games so ho-hum news for me • The beloved Banjo-Kazooie® franchise will breathe new, high-definition life exclusively on Xbox 360, from famed developer Rare Ltd. Beloved characters Banjo, Kazooie and Gruntilda—among other fan favorites—will new next-gen visuals and presentation as well as their sharp wit and hilarious sense of humor. Awesome! Banjo-Kazooie was ace on the N64, should be a good bit of lightweight relief from futuristic war based FPS's • Microsoft Game Studios will release its highly-anticipated new MMO game, Marvel Universe Online for both Xbox 360 and the Windows Vista™ operating system. MUO was developed by industry luminaries Cryptic Studios, creators of the smash hits City of Heroes and City of Villains. Marvel + RPG + Online = good for me. A monthly subscription is probably gonna happen, hopefully it wont be extortionate • Expect two new additions to Xbox Live Arcade: The FPS that pioneered the network-gaming era, DOOM®, from acclaimed developer id Software and Activision, is available now on Xbox Live Marketplace. The game includes the original four-episode single-player game, four-player split screen action, both co-op and deathmatch, and four player co-op and deathmatch via Xbox Live. Coming soon to Xbox Live Arcade is Sensible World of Soccer from Codemasters. Based on a classic Amiga title from 1994, Sensible World of Soccer will let gamers choose between the original graphics or an updated, high-resolution look and feel—while still capturing the original game's wide world of football. SWOS ate many hours of my childhood! good news, and doom is doom really. • Arriving at retailers in North America, the U.K, France and Germany in mid-November 2006, the Xbox 360 HD DVD Player will retail for $199.99 in North America (estimated retail price)* and €199.99/£129.99 (estimated retail price)* in the U.K., France and Germany. The Xbox 360 HD DVD Player comes with the Universal Pictures' blockbuster film Peter Jackson's "King Kong" on HD DVD (for a limited time) and the Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote. So?
  12. I've just got Ninja Gaiden to play on my 360, and it's fucking nails. I can't even do the first level yet, the white haired nunchucka guy keeps doin' me over. So, it got me thinking about other games I've found frustratingly tough: Stuntman (PS2) - This drove me to the edge of insanity Mega Man (all of the NES ones) Resident Evil 4 (PS2) I also found all of the Hitman games hard, and I'm sure there's a load more that I'm missing. What about you lot?
  13. Im taking my old man to either Birmingham or Nottingham. Dunno which yet. (Y)
  14. People who don't want to look retarded. I love the idea of the Wii, like I said, I plan on buying one, but the gimmick is going to turn off males who aren't willing to make themselves look like a jackass.
  15. It doesn't only cater to fringe gamers. Mario and Zelda are big, big selling games. The people who love those games are not on the "fringe". Plus, they have games like Red Steel and Project H.A.M.M.E.R., Call of Duty and Blazing Angels, Excite Truck and Tony Hawks to appeal to more mainstream gamers who want to play those kind of games. Look at how well the DS has done against the PSP.
  16. If by "serious adult gamer" you mean the 18-30 types who spend most of their time playing sports games and first-person shooters, then I don't think Nintendo were ever aiming to draw in that audience.
  17. I'll start with the Xbox 360, since I bought one yesterday (Y) I'm impressed so far. I like pretty much everything about it, except for the bloody size of it and the fact that it's fucking LOUD. I have PGR3 which is very good. I'm not a particularly big fan of racing games in general, but it's an impressive game. Graphically it's stunning, and it's good fun to play. The online play is good too. I also picked up Elder Scrolls : Oblivion which I've got stuck into today for 4 or 5 hours, and it's really good so far. I like the look of several of the games already available (Dead Rising especialy) and there's some good stuff in the pipeline too. Also, it's already available and it's not 'ridiculously' priced (I paid £300 for the full setup, an extra wireless controller and the 2 games). The live membership doesn't bother me, £30 odd quid a year is just a few pounds a month, it's not gonna break the bank. It seems well supported by microsoft and it was real easy to set up (literally just plugged it in and I was away). Downside seems to be that the majority of the extra content you can download costs money. after paying nearly 50 squid for most of the games, it irks me somewhat to be expected to pay extra for stuff that's probably gonna be free on other systems. Apparently EA sports games are terrible for this. Wii Looks interesting. I'm not convinced yet though. It seem's very original (which I like) but it also kinda runs the risk of being a bit of a novelty. I can see the motion senser thingy being overused and not enough 'normal' games being released. I just can't see a serious adult gamer choosing this over a PS3 or and Xbox. It seems like more of a second console to me. On the plus side it does have Mario and Zelda games guaranteed, and they never dissapoint. PS3 For a long time I was mostly looking forward to this, not really bothering about the Xbox at all. It just seems now though that it's being delayed more and more all the time. It's also had a ridiculous price tag slapped on it (I really don't give a shit if it's blue-ray or not). I've kinda given up on it at the moment, hence the Xbox purchase. It's not being released untill march though I belive, so I'll reserve final judgement untill then. Hopefully if it is any good I'll have the funds to pick one up. Overall I'm liking the Xbox the most, then PS3, then the Wii.
  18. I'm not really bothered about sports games to be honest. I tend to like RPG's and action/adventure stuff. Things with storylines basically.
  19. Ok, I currently have a PS2, which I enjoy immensely. However, I played on a 360 for the first time the other day, and to put it bluntly, it was fucking awesome. I don't actually know anything about 360's though, as I've never looked into them. So I guess what I'm asking is, what are the pro's and con's of each system, and what are the best games for the 360? (Either currently available, or soon to be released) The main pro I see for PS2 are the wide selection of games (if the 360 is backwards compatible with old xbox games though, which i assume it is, this is a moot point) The main pro for the Xbox is that it's next gen, and seems to have a lot of 'original' games coming out for it. If anybody can confirm that they are releasing a new Star Wars : KOTOR game on 360 then this discusion is pointless as i will definately buy one.
  20. 1. Origin Of Symmetry My favourite Muse album, good from top to bottom 2. Absolution Another really good album. 3. Showbiz I really liked this when it was first released, but has since been surpassed by the following two. 4. Black Holes and whatever it's called Pretty weak I reckon, not a fan of any of the singles. Listend to the whole album a few times and nothing really jumps out to me. Bit of a dissapointment really
  21. 'Football Manager' is easily the best game of it's genre, there really isn't any room for discusion on the subject. It's cut and dried really.
