  1. The more i listen to "The View" the less i hate it, Ulrich's drumming does suck though and it repeats the same riffs through the whole thing, but they aren't that bad. Lyrics and Hetfield's vocals are the things that i like about this. I really, really hope that he has bigger part on the songs, that could be the one thing saving a big part of this, atleast for me. I don't want to hear a song with Lou Reed talking 20 minutes straight. I still want to hear the whole thing before judging it, but even though they made it in a short amount of time, i just wish that they would have spend that time on next own album than making this. Death Magnetic was great and i want to hear a follow-up before 2015.
  2. I have a Philips GoGear SA2115/37 1gb, which i've had for atleast three years now. As long as it keeps working i don't need a fancy new one.
  3. It's ok. Lou Reed wasn't so terrible as those previews made him sound, still doesn't like his "singing" that much, on the other hand i really like the last 1½ minutes with Hetfield singing. I have really no expectations for the album, but i'm definitely interested enough to get it.
  4. Other than L.A Noire and Pokemon White i don't think i've bought any other games this year, rest of the year seems to change that a lot. Batman Arkham City i have already pre-ordered. X-Men Destiny or Spider-Man: Edge Of Time, i'm going to wait for the release to see what kind of reviews they get before deciding which one. WWE '12 Deus Ex Human Revolution Elder Scrolls V Skyrim I'm kind of tempted to buy the MGS HD Collection, it's been years since i've played those. I was going to buy Catherine, but they delayed the european release to next year. The list for games early next year looks prettty good: SSX Catherine Max Payne 3 Mass Effect 3 Final Fantasy XIII-2
  5. Anthrax - "Worship Music" Really great album. I saw it get great reviews, but did not expect it to be this good, not a single bad song on it.
  6. Community Season 1 (one of the best shows going currently, had to buy it.) Checked the bonus features and they are almost as great as the show itself. There's a gag reel on every disc. Also got Thor and Source Code, haven't seen either one of them before, but expect them to be good.
  7. Almost Famous Another film i've found here in EWB as few of you were praising it a few months ago. I bought a extended cut edition a while ago which was supposedly 30 minutes longer and finally got to watching it and whoever it was that talked about it wasn't wrong, it was brilliant. Lots of actors i'm familiar these days, but just ten years before. It had a very good story and quite possibly became one of my favourites.
  8. I finally finished Batman Arkham Asylum, took me long enough. Now i'm kind of stuck between starting second walkthrough on Mass Effect 2 or trying to finish Final Fantasy XIII before Arkham City and Catherine are released. Also tempted to buy Deus Ex: Human Revolution. So many games to play, but where to find the time for them.
  9. Oh, now we're posting clips from it. Finished the first season, hopefully this show stays on for a while. Guess i will spend my last week of vacation watching Season 2, when will the next season start by the way? I assume at some point in September/October? Also rewatching Dollhouse, it got way better as it went on. Mostly in second season, too bad that no one watched it.
  10. If the first two seasons of The Big Bang Theory are your measure for great recent comedy, you clearly haven't watched enough comedy shows in the past years. You're right, i haven't really watched any other comedies than Big Bang Theory and Happy Endings this spring and BBT hasn't been as good after those first two seasons. Any other good shows out there that i've missed? If i remember correctly someone recommended Parks and Recreation to me at some point so might check that out soon as well.
  11. I wasn't so sure about it first, but yeah it just keeps getting better and better. Best comedy since the first two seasons of BBT, probably even better.
  12. Just finished the Season 1 paintball episode of Community and that was the greatest thing i've seen in a while. How did i not see this brilliant show before.
  13. I ended up checking the Community pilot after how you've been praising the show and you weren't wrong, that was great and from what i've read here i assume it's only going to get better. EDIT: Just finished the second episode, it was even better. Need to watch the whole thing now.
  14. Tarantino, one of my all time favourite film makers. In top 3 probably. Hell, few years ago at school we had to do presentation about films or some shit and i did it about him and it was placed on a wall for a long time, i was so proud. But yeah...i think all of his movies except Death Proof are great and that one is good too. Pulp Fiction is probably my favourite, with Kill Bill vol. 1 coming next, most of my liking for Kill Bill comes from the awesome soundtrack. I never buy movie soundtracks, but i have both Vol. 1 and 2. Not only Kill Bill films, but he uses great music in pretty much all of his films, can't remember about Inglourious Basterds though. I rated him at 9. Waiting for Django Unchained.
  15. I'm torn between buying Death Note the whole series on DVD or buying the manga. I have only seen the first 6-7 episodes of it before and i'd have to pay about 40 euros for the DVD Box, i believe buying all the volumes would cost more. Any advice EWB, which is better?
  16. Thanks, i'm not really familiar with this kind of music, found this by luck so i'm going to check those out when i have more time.
  17. I just watched Paper Man. It was brilliant. It was funny at times, i think it's supposed to be a comedy but it ended up being quite dark. All of the main cast were really good: Jeff Daniels, Emma Stone and Ryan Reynolds. Here's a trailer if anyone wants to check it out.
  18. Never heard of this band before, been listening their songs for the past hour.
  19. "In Waves" by Trivium. I'm not their biggest fan, but this was better than i expected, better than their last one "Shogun" which i didn't like at all. Inception Of The End, Watch the World Burn, Built to Fall and Of All These Yesterdays were songs i liked most on the first listening.
  20. I just love this song, shining moment in "Death Magnetic." Metallica: The Day That Never Comes
  21. This. So many times, this. They should've just make Tara stay the hell away after season 3 and everyone would've been happy, now we won't be until she's dead. Easily the worst character in the show. Jessica on the other hand...
  22. From what i've heard, it was announced at some anime convention that they are working on Season 2. EDIT: Actually here's a video of it.
  23. Yay, i can't wait to see Finland losing 20-0 to Spain and France. Seriously i don't know how this country can suck so bad on football. On the current qualifiers for next year, the only points we seem to get is by beating San Marino.
  24. 1. Metallica 2. Iron Maiden 3. Green Day 4. The Gaslight Anthem 5. Nightwish 6. Machine Head 7. Avenged Sevenfold 8. Megadeth 9. Our Lady Peace 10. Volbeat 11. Motörhead 12. Foo Fighters 13. Trivium 14. Red Hot Chili Peppers 15. In Flames Possible editing to come, not entirely happy with 11-15.
  25. Lost rant incoming... I'm getting close to midway on my Lost marathon, just finished the episode on season 3, where Desmond 're-lives' his life and tells Charlie that he will die no matter what. I've said it before but i have no bad things to say about this show, never did when it aired and not now on my second watch either. The ending was what it was and you could fill a page on the unanswered things, but i loved it nevertheless. Aside the weirdness, time-travelling and other stuff coming in the later seasons that confused people, Lost had some of the best written characters on any show i've seen, Desmond being one of my favourites. That is all.
