If the Deluxe version gets you 1 and 2, that’s worth it.

Watched The Maltese Falcon recently. Several good performances (Peter Lorre is fantastic), but in the decades since this was made everything has become very cliche and honestly a clunky version of those cliches. But. This was the first or one of the first films to do these things. So I’d say it’s not so much a great movie as it is important.

Yeah, I know the show has handled serious issues fairly well in the past, but after this past summer I don’t think stomach any show that positions police as the good guys. It’s hard to see this season working for me in a way that doesn’t involve everyone quitting the force.

Fargo was a big improvement from the last season. Some really incredible performances and a great story. I would desperately love to see Ted Lasso, but I see no other reason to get Apple TV. 😕

I’m still curious what they’ll do about the show being about cops. Continuing the show while keeping it responsible AND funny is...well, that’s a very, very small target to hit.

Good to hear! Schitt’s Creek looks really good, but my wife can’t get into it and we watch all out TV together. By choice, not force.

So here’s an unfair and weird thing about me: I have suuuuuch a hard time trying anything resembling anime. Looks like Kipo fits that bill. I may still give it a try. I really don’t know why I have such an anti-anime bias. Maybe its more mainstream popularity came about just a little too late to hit me at the right age? That’s certainly true of Pokémon.

My wife and I recently, finally gave Steven Universe a go, after many recommendations. We adore it. We finished the main series and the movie and are now in the midst of Steven Universe Future. It’s all this perfect mix of silliness, world building, action, and emotional depth. It’s also unique for being a regular ol’ kids’ cartoon that regularly addresses topics like puberty, queerness, and sex, either directly or metaphorically. It all adds up to a highly entertaining and soul-soothing experience. Plus great music! So, since we’re almost done, does anyone have recommendations for a show that will fill this unique void when we’re done? We’re really gonna miss it.

No comment on most of those, but The Great does seem like a show I’d like if I bothered. I loved The Favourite, so I should like this. And Staged was just a wonderful little nugget of joy in this weird-ass year. Such a fun way to make use of the time they suddenly had and what little resources they had available. And it’s kinda hard to fuck up when your show is led by that duo at this point. I was surprised to hear they’re doing a second series, but I’ll be happy to watch.

No idea on the rest, but after the Golden Globe nominations came out nearly all of my friends were pissed that I May Destroy You didn’t get nominated. A lot of talk about it being the year’s best. I may have to give it a go.

Flight Attendant really was fantastic, even if I had one minor quibble with the finale. I’m interested in a season 2. Haven't yet seen Killing Eve season 3, as the end of season 2 didn’t really inspire me to. May or may not get to it. The rest don’t really rate for me.

For the record, I bought a Switch shortly into the new year. The Animal Crossing bundle was available online several places. I was after the Mario Kart bundle though, which was tough. I ended up using a third party seller on Amazon (I wanted a Switch bad enough to momentarily break my Amazon boycott.) Third party sellers on Amazon may be your best bet. eBay had some too. Possibly just as good, but I felt better about the one on Amazon, based on customer reviews.

So how do I let y’all onto my island play online with you and stuff? I have the online membership. Isn’t there a friend code or something? Nothing in the setup or games have mentioned mine.

That’s common. 2 is the favorite for a lot of people.
