  1. San Diego moving two hours up the road really shouldn't constitute a realignment. I imagine a flight from Kansas City to San Diego is roughly the exact same as a flight from KC to LA. And Oakland shouldn't move on god damn principle. San Francisco vs. LA Raiders may be fun, but it'll never match the intensity of Broncos/Raiders. Never mind the fact that no one in their right mind would want to pay for tickets to see the Raiders vs. the Cardinals two times a year.
  2. Yeah, you guys talked me into waiting for the roster update, so I'll be started a journeyman game once that happens.
  3. Yeah, I'm guessing it would be a Raiders/Chargers to NFC West and Rams/Seahawks to AFC West. That'd make the most sense geographically. It'd completely piss all over the rivalries within the AFC West, but money, right?
  4. They gonna join the AFC Far West division?
  5. I tend to give whoever says something like that shit, because more often than not, if you're the one saying it, it's not true. LeBron doesn't walk around saying he's the best in the NBA. Trout doesn't claim to be the best outfielder in baseball. The only exception I can think of recently is Richard Sherman, and I honestly can't remember if he flat out claimed to be the best corner or not, or if it was just implied by the things he said.
  6. Who was it that said it last year? Was it Flacco? I wish quarterbacks had the sense to realize if you're the only one saying something, it's just not true.
  7. Finally sitting down to watch the first episode of Hard Knocks. I friggin' love this show.
  8. I alternate between NHL and NBA. I had NBA 2k14, and last year I bought NHL '15, so this Fall I'll buy NBA 2k16. I don't really play either online, though, unless it's with people I know. Way too many cheesers in those games.
  9. No, but it took me about thirty seconds to recognize Zack Ryder.
  10. I picked up Project Cars and a racing wheel this weekend. The game is beautiful and tough and I love it. I haven't used a racing wheel in like fifteen years. They've gotten infinitely better than I remember.
  11. Pssh. Another major? I was following, but the thread has been dead for the last couple tournaments, so I never even thought to come in here and discuss it.
  12. His passes are less wobbly, but he's still only attempting very simple slant patterns. It's preseason. I'd like to see him air it out a bit and show if he somehow learned to hit the harder to place passes. I doubt he has, but pretty much any quarterback can hit slant patterns.
  13. Sound the alarm for the Philly fans to start predicting Super Bowl.
  14. Yeah, save that little tidbit for the CFL Season thread.
  15. Think I may hit up the range this afternoon on this beautiful day.
  16. Don't listen to Lineker. He's the biggest square ever.
  17. You have no proof https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9u8x0Xrj4A Oh my god there's proof!
  18. I actually just started golfing six months ago. Prior to that, I had played once before, so I can give a pretty novice opinion. 1. It's incredibly fun. It gets me out of the house, it lets me hang out outside. You can play at your own pace, and it's a laidback enough game that you can enjoy the company of your playing partner. I'm in the process of getting clubs for my wife, because I really think it'd be a great couples game. 2. It's incredibly hard. As for the "haha we suck" or "fuck this we suck" it really depends on how competitive you are. Or how much instant gratification you want. You aren't going to go out there and down it in five, six, seven, or likely even eight or nine shots at first. If you've never even gone to a driving range, 300 yard or more holes are going to take you forever to get to. You really need to hit up a driving range and at least become somewhat decent at driving the ball 100-150 yards before trying to play a course unless you want to be there all week. 3. You absolutely can rent them. You won't be getting any clubs with very good quality, most likely, which will hurt your game. You can find a decent pair on Amazon for like $150 (on sale) to $300 that are made from graphite. Graphite is very forgiving, so even if you don't hit the ball precisely right, it'll still go a good distance. 4. Practice, practice, practice. Going to a golf course can be expensive. Go find a driving range, spend ten/twelve dollars a piece to get a large bucket of balls and practice driving for several hours (not necessarily at one time ) before wasting money at a course. You're more likely to get upset and frustrated if you drop $70-$100 for you guys to play a course, and suck, and quit, than you are to spend to $10 at a driving range and just have fun "whackin' it". Hope this helps. Hopefully welcome to the golf fraternity/sorority.
  19. Because watching a guy play tons of football more often leads you to finding things a player does wrong or inconsistent than right. I help coach, so I'm always watching for technique, skill, and consistencies. I had, apparently incorrectly, assumed you were directing my bias at my Notre Dame fandom, when it really couldn't be further from the truth. I wasn't really overreacting. I just get long winded sometimes.
  20. I feel like this exact sentence could be applied to you I'd be happy to bet my savings account on the fact that I've watched more Jimmy Clausen games than anyone else on this board. Precisely my point The number of Jimmy Clausen games you've watched makes you biased Or...just...more informed. I liked Brady Quinn much more than Clausen at Notre Dame. But I can fully admit that Quinn was a college quarterback. Him being drafted by Cleveland definitely didn't do him any favors (when does being drafted a Brown ever, really?), but he never should have gone in the first round, and it didn't surprise me at all when he flamed out. When Clausen committed to Notre Dame, he was one of the first high school kids to do the flashy faux press conference things. His daddy bought him an Escalade, which he drove up to his presser when he announced he was going to ND. The whole thing was filmed. It was a cornball version of The Decision years ahead of it. He was a cocky jerk the three years he spent in South Bend. He made it clear from his sophomore year that he was there to learn under an NFL style head coach, to get drafted, and leave as quickly as he could. Considering how hardcore of a Notre Dame fan I am, I never took too kindly to Jimmy Clausen the person. So to say I'm bias, when I honestly don't even like the guy, is wrong.

  22. He's not! How many Jimmy Clausen games have you watched, you biased nugget?!
