  1. My favourites include the Jimmy Bullard/Duncan Ferguson exchange after Ferguson twatted Scharner, brilliant.
  2. Neither of my parents were majorly into music, although whenever my Dad put something on it would be Parliament, Doors, George clinton, Donna Summer, David Bowie, Johnny Guitar Watson or John Lee Hooker. I started borrowing the albums of his that I liked when I was about 12 or 13 as I couldn't afford to buy new albums at the time (before my digital/mp3 generation you see), and only really ever bought new ones at my birthday or christmas. Thankfully I never borrowed my Mums cds, Elton John still makes me feel physically sick.
  3. Oasis have better songs, I find songbird to be so overated personally. Love the Chilis, Beatles are ok, I really like the Editors (I find most new indie-ish bands to be drivel) and I don't mind a bit of Eminem in moderation. 7/10 A Minute Longer (Stereophonics) Special Cases (Massive Attack) How Was It For You? (James) Harvest Moon (Bedlam - Reservoir Dogs soundtrack) Crushing Day (Joe Satriani) It Ain't Me Babe (Bob Dylan) What's Happening Brother (Marvin Gaye) Snowball (Devo - Jaques Lu Cont Fabriclive09 album) Tell Me (Stone Roses) What's In It For Me (The Walkmen)
  4. Dirty bastard, Binya - Indeed. EDIT - And I've seen some ugly people in my time...but this guy just takes it to a whole new level
  5. Mmmmm. While Blatter is a fool and that's generally recognised by many football fans, I do think there might be too many foreigners in the English domestic game. However, I don't think that a cap on such players is the way forward. I also don't have a problem with the foreign players coming over if they improve the standard of the domestic game, which at the top end at Man Utd and Arsenal etc the very large majority will do. I think a reduction in sub-standard (in that not as good as the existing average league footballer) foreign players can only be acheived by somehow making the price of the equivalent skilled British footballer cheaper to transfer in. How that would happen, I don't know. As a fan of West Ham who have a predominantly British squad (Faubert, Neill, Solano, Camara, Boa Morte and Spector are the only ones I can immediately think of) I have to honestly say that I do prefer having a mainly British team, with players like Mark Noble being such players than fans can make some connection with (relatively speaking).
  6. I take it Mir isn't quite the same force he was supposed to be a few years ago? Even so, I thought a less high-profile name would be first for Lesnar. That said, I can't wait to see the fight...
  7. Travis' version of 'Baby One More Time' is pretty good, almost gives them credibility.
  8. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...pur/7080067.stm Spurs want to upgrade their stadium, bit of a shame as it's a great old-style closed in English stadium. However, there'd be a revolt if our board at West Ham let them groundshare...
  9. Since it's all Prem teams now, I'm happy being at home to Everton. Hopefully we can get another striker back though, Carlton Cole won't get us into the semis alone...
  10. Did he have much of a track record as manager before being promoted at Spurs?
  11. I still find it incredible Bolton turned to Gary Megson. A guy who had half decent success at West Brom, but followed up with awful failure at Forest and in a short space of time left everyone at Leicester pretty ho-hum. It's not even as if he's a cheap option, Bolton had to pay £300k compensation to Leicester. Madness. Still, he'll probably end up being brilliant.
  12. Coventry 1 - 2 West Ham West Ham were shite, really bad performance and how we managed to grab the win I've no idea. It's fair enough we have a lot of injuries (two more after this game) but I'm glad Curbishley still laid into them, as that was pitiful. Still into the quarter finals we go, and after tonights games it now seems to be shaping up.
  13. He seemed to be really highly rated for a while, I think West Ham and Bolton were interested a year ago. Anyone know why Holloway let him leave?
  14. I have to say I thought Arsenal, bar the last 20 minutes, played well enough but never really opened Liverpool up - over hyped performance by the media. That said, when they are on song they are almost unplayable. I thought a draw was a fair result. Good to see our 'parent club' still battling relegation. It's all gone quiet at my office, where Spurs followers are in abundance...
  15. Jol seemed to be appalingly treated by the board, but after all the money that was spent the past three summers and looking where they are now it's hardly surprising he's been sacked, I'm surprised it wasn't earlier.
  16. Unconvincing win to be honest, Kenwyne Jones was the best player on the pitch. Still, despite losing our last three games in which on the basis of play we could have easily drawn all three, it's good to get back on track. ...and crikey, Carlton Cole scored?!
  17. To be honest, when I saw the comments that Jol made earlier today/yesterday regarding the comparisons of the standings and ability of Tottenham and Newcastle at this present time, it was clear to me that Jol had basically given Allardyces teamtalk for him.
  18. "Happiness in Magazines" and "Lovel Travels at Illegal Speeds" by Graham Coxon. His first few albums weren't all that to be honest, "Golden D" had it's moments but by and large they were angry but not that good. However, since he split with Blur his two albums (above) are simply first class. Happiness is probably the better of the two, but both are just a cut above anything solo he's done while with Blur. A possibility is because he was desperately trying to make any sound that was as different from any Blur as possible, but since he split, he feels he's able to do whatever he wants. That's my theory anyway. Regarding the 'Casually dressed' album, that's been on my ipod for a couple of years now by way of my lass' cds finding their way onto it, so I'll give it a listen tonight on the tube home...
  19. I'll chuck in another one. Second Coming by The Stone Roses. Not as good as the first two, but unfairly slated - still a cut above most other albums and wasn't out of place when it was released. Such a shame it all went belly-up, Squire's first album was shit despite him being a top notch guitarist.
  20. Out of interest, what are the transfer status' of Mascherano and Tevez? Loans with buyouts?
  21. Hundred Reasons - I hated the singers' drawl on the song 'Silver' - awful, and worse live. Totally put me off wanting to listen to anything they ever did. '100 Broken Windows' by Idlewild 'Good Feeling' by Travis (the only one of theirs I can listen to throughout as it's a great album, The Man Who had either good or pish songs, whereas everything since has been so uninteresting and bland beyond belief) 'Word Gets Around' by Stereophonics - another 'band' (or solo artist) whose first two albums were great, then bar about two songs since, have been bland/crap. Shame, saw them at V99 and was so into them at that time. 'Attack of the Grey Lantern' by Mansun 'Significant Other' by Limp Bizkit. Nowhere near my favourite band or genre, but that album was great back in the day, 1999 or so, and very energetic on stage.
  22. Nah, he's not even interested in the Portugal job, he's looking for club management still. Oh well... er... Sammy Lee is available?!
  23. Dear oh dear. Mourinho for England manager! (I'm serious)
