There's a lot of good William Orbit remixes of Blur's pre-13 stuff - see if you can download the 'Bustin and Dronin' album, it was a Blur mix album. Some good Bloc Party remixed songs as well, particularly the 'Phones Disco Edit' version of Banquet, and the Whitey version of Helicopter. Heard both them played in a breaks club and they went down a storm. If you go to www.beatport.com there are hundreds of classic remixes you can listen to a sample of.

I love the fact how Sky maintain that it's purely random that the top four play each other this weekend. Once maybe, but again this season? As if. This 'Grnad Slam' shite is such an anti-climax, about the first time I've ever agreed with Mark Lawrenson...

I can also see why Dowd red-carded Keane, it was a lunge that if connected could have really done some damage. Players can get sent off for a reckless/dangerous tackle even if they don't make contact, although I also thought it was a yellow. ...and agreed with Ferguson making himself appear to be a fool. Let's blame everyone but the cheating arse who dived, it was so laughably clear.

Peter Storrie was also the CE of West Ham while Redknapp was there, before both reunited at Pompey... I always wondered about the rumours within the West Ham fans regarding Redknapps shock departure from Upton Park and if there were any truth in them.

Arguably, he took Wigan as far as he could - and barely survived last season. Derby are bigger club than Wigan, and with the new board and January investment to soon be used, Derby aren't doomed just yet. To be honest, I can't see Jewell being able to get a much better club. Had Wigan finished 10/11th again last season then may be, but I couldn't see a Pompey/Newcastle/West Ham/Everton etc ever being majorly interested just yet.

It's easy to see why McLeish left for Birmingham. He's done arguably all he can in Scotland club football, and wants to manage in the Premiership - his reputation is at an all-time high, and if he can get Birmingham playing well then they'll be fine. It's a big if I realise, but they're not quite down and out with no hope of survival. With the players he had for Scotland it was amazing that he got them that close, so they overcheived to a certain extent. If he stayed and managed them for the WC qualifiers, and didn't do as well, his stock will drop and may not even be offered a Premiership job then.

Recognisable voice, and a good one at that. Shame about the shit song though, I find her version less irritating though thankfully, should it pop up on my work's radio.

9/10 Great stuff. Start is a top tune by the Jam (second only to Down in the Tube Station at Midnight in my opinion), while I'm loving the early Oasis. Fair point, but essentially he stepped up and was the guy who got us there in the end. I'm no big Beckham fan by any means, but there wasn't any signs that Gerrard or anyone else was about to get us to the WC.

To be honest there doesn't seem (to my knowledge) to be major physical hatred (or at least a recent history of) between the Milan teams, so he should be ok. A problem with the Ultra groups (and a lot of teams have them in some shape or form) is that they actually have a degree of power and influence over certain sections of the club. If the team is deemed as under-performing, it's not uncommon for the ultra group to demand talks with the chairman and officials, and often it's granted. There's even been rumours that when an Ultra group says a player is to be sold, it happens. They have too much power quite frankly, and often these leaders are 'known' to be involved in criminal activity and even are affiliated with certain sections of the police.

Bit of an obvious one, but a real classic.

Watching Michael Hughes slam in a volley against the immense Schmeichel for West Ham against Man Utd in 95, stopped them winning the title and gave Steve Bruce a reason to moan about West Ham at every opportunity. Playoff final for West Ham vs Preston, horribly nervy but when Zamora got the goal and the full-time whistle went, pure unadulterated joy and relief...

Blur - Greatest Hits. My favourite band, so I might be biased, but I just love the style of artwork used - Julian Opie.

Blur are my favourite band and have been ever since I properly got into music - the Singles tour in December 99 at Wembley Arena just inspired me to pick up a bass and really thrust myself into music, the recording of that gig was used for the live second cd on the Greatest Hits album. Have seen them 3 times, and they've been great... I love all their stuff apart from maybe half of Leisure, although that album does contain my second favourite song of theirs, Sing, so it's not a bad album by any means. I also love the Gorillaz, but have yet to really properly listen to the Good, the Bad and the Queen, although a return to music for Paul Simonon was surprising, so tis all good. Also, Albarn did some great work with Mali Music, check out some of that stuff.

My first cassette single was Yazz & the Plastic Population - The Only Way Is Up, cassette albums were the music to 'Gladiators' (UK TV Show) and ABBA Gold. I must have been about 8 or 9 I suppose, thankfully my tastes quickly changed...

I've seen them live about 5 or 6 times, one of my favourite bands, and they've been excellent every single time, not missing a beat. Favourite song is probably Crystal or Krafty, as for favourite album I actually think Waiting For The Sirens Call (the last studio album) is one of their better and most consistent offerings, as to me, a lot of their previous studio albums have nearly always been hot and cold, half excellent, half not so. It's a shame that at the moment, it looks like they won't be performing/writing together with Hooky for a while, but I'm sure they'll be back soon.
