  1. Mourinho at 20/1 - they're clearly having a laugh! Can't see it being Coleman, he'd be mad to leave Sociedad at this stage. I'd agree that Jewell is probably the favourite.
  2. Blimey, not really surprising I suppose, but a little harsh in my opinion. Replacing Allardyce at an-overcheiving team was always going to be a hard task for a 1st-time manager, but given he lost Ben Haim and Nolan's been under par for over a season now, plus the new players (which he's brought in quite conservatively spending-wise) needing time to settle in, I think he should have been given a little more time. Results driven though, I suppose.
  3. Ashley Cole won't be playing either, so it looks like a Richards Campbell Rio Lescott back four, that's the rumours anyway. I find it a bit odd that if Lescott is second choice left-back, what was the point in calling up Shorey? However, with that back four likely to be very physically dominant from set pieces attatcking as well as defending, and the midfield and forward looking better this past few games, I can see why Lescott would be prefered - he even pkayed a whole season there last term, so he should do ok.

  5. Credit sportinglife.com Carlton Cole on his West Ham form...
  6. I was listening to 'Fighting Talk' on the bbc on Saturday (not as good as when Christian O'Connell was hosting it, but anyway), and I think it was Steve Bunce who mentioned that he is getting really annoyed with people asking him where he's watching the game that evening. He said something like "If there's one place I certainly won't be watching it, it's down the pub. Full of non-rugby fans waiting for a rugby fan to cheer/clap or wahtever so that they know that what's just happened on the screen is a good thing for England or not. Everyone just looks out of the corner of their eye to see what the proper reaction should be then just joins in." Obviously, he put it a lot better and funnier than that, but twas funny nonetheless...
  7. Glad someone shares my Pryda love :-) Out of interest, was he listed as djing as 'Pryda' or Eric Prydz? Soulwax (or 2 many djs) are great live as well, so yeah, should you have the chance go see them - great mesh of dance and rock.
  8. ...and there's nothing wrong with kicking penalties more than going for tries. Part of the game for years, and I can't stand anyone who moans about the manner of victorys, be it by the Welsh, English, French or Aussies. No team is there to entertain, they're there to win, and if a countries strengths is playing to kick more than try-scoring, then there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
  9. Massive Attack is very good, not sure about Menswear though.
  10. Anyone interested in new progressive house should look no further than Pryda. Simply great, great stuff he's coming out with at the moment. I saw him DJ a couple of months ago as Eric Prydz, not good, but his new Pryda tracks "Muranyi" and "Balaton" are very good offerings.
  11. Coldplay - Fix You (Progressive Mix) I've never heard such a middle-of-the-road blahness song turned into something brilliantly euthoric. I'm still trying to find the version I've heard in a club (this isn't the best), but when that hit it was beautiful.

  13. Crazy. Expected to get to the quarter finals, but even then they made enough work of that not forgetting the mauling (pun intended) by S.Africa. Then the surprising victory over Australia and now beating the French in their own backyard... Quality. Still, hopefully we won't get stuffed again by (most likely) S.Africa once again.
  14. We switched to 4-5-1/4-3-3 when Lampard came on, and after the match McClaren said we were "trying out new options." Basically he seems desperate to get Lampard back into the squad, although Cole's injury could be a blessing because it'll allow him to put Barry at left back.
  15. Joe Cole has always had shit finishing on him, even when he was back at West Ham. Great player mind. We playing 433 against Russia? Did McClaren say as much in the post-match interview?
  16. I'm in full agreement with that side. The one thing I would say is the possible lack of Owen's fitness, but given the opposition and we're at home I'm sure it could be used as a bit of a run out for him, so to speak, to get sharp for Wednesday.
  17. Predictions for todays game? Hopefully another comfortable win, as well as starts for Barry and Robinson. I also think that Campbell is a good choice to fill in for Terry... 2-0.
  18. I also had Vincent Enyeama disliking Carlos Tevez and Carlos Tevez...
  19. "Heaven Scent" - done by loads of styles/producers/djs, but the version that's making me grin at the moment is by Sasha, from his GU Ibiza album. Pure bliss.
  20. NEXT ROUND RSA meet Argentina at the Parc des Princes France meet England at the Stade de France All Blacks meet Australia at Charles de Gaulle Airport
  21. Who does the Nightswimming cover? That's probably my favourite song from the album...
  22. What time period do they look at? 2007? or the 2006-07 season? I think it'll be Kaka again, but Patrick Vieira should do better than he will do as he's been immense in that brilliant Inter team (domestically).
  23. Absolutely. I mean arguements can be made for Terry, Lampard and Gerrard, but frankly Rooney in there is just silly. I still remember when Paulo Wanchope got a vote for world player of the year while at West Ham...
