  1. I agree I think you've got a favourable draw, shouldn't have too many problems. I haven't followed Getafe this season though, and have no idea if they are still as useful since Schuster has left. Had a great side last term.
  2. That's a tricky draw for Everton, potentially hazardous there. Aberdeen looked doomed unfortunately... Is it top three go through again? I personally hate these European group stages, it's just a way to give the bigger clubs that have more power/influence less chance of not qualifying through an iffy result.
  3. I'll chuck in some ching, as they're one of my top five bands and every album they've done thus far I've liked. Some albums I took longer to adjust to than usual (I saw them in 2000 when Kid A had been released, and I just thought wtf - now it's one of my favourites of theirs) but they've always delivered, so I'm happy to contribute.
  4. Loved Tiesto's 'In Search of sunrise' first few albums,
  5. Groove Armada at Brixton, 17th November. One hell of a party, 10 years of great music. Just waqit til Superstylin hits...
  6. Well, Ashton and Johnson are injured. Ashton is such an unlucky bastard...
  7. Any word on whether he's down at Chelsea as assistant or as manager?
  8. With Argentina, I heard a journalist talking about how this is the only meaningful competition they compete in. Apparently the fans want them to get inot the Tri-Nations to get some regular competitive rugby other than the WC - they've clearly made tremendous strides to come this far, and the better they get the better for the game and casual supporter. Would the Southern hemisphere teams accept an expanded southern tournament? The Northern has done recently with the inclusion of Italy and they've steadily improved year on year and were unlucky to get knocked out versus Scotland.
  9. The weird thing with Elano is that at Shaktar, he wasn't ever really guaranteed a first team place. I wonder when we'll see his anger and red cards... great start to his Prem career though no doubt. Agreed with the comments on Carlton Cole, and complete joke. Admittedly he's only in the team because Camara/Bellamy/Zamora were injured, and now Ashton's had a tweak, Cole could be our lone striker... bring back Ephraim and give him a run out.
  10. With my team now losing three times on the trot, I was glad to find some glee somewhere from the football this weekend. Cheers Fernando!
  11. Come on England, Aus 10 - 9 Eng at the moment.
  12. Not great behaviour from Dida, but it wouldn't have happened had the fan not been on the pitch. Like others have said, slap on the wrist from Uefa for Celtic, and let the media criticise Dida (which has happened, even from Kaka).
  13. Come on you Irons, although I bet Reo-Coker leaves the happiest...
  14. Not totally sure to be honest, I think so though. I think Steven Taylor was preferred to him last time around. I like Lescott, although I hope he's been called up for his defensive prowess rather than his exploits at the other end.
  15. Robinson (Tottenham), James (Portsmouth), Carson (Liverpool, on loan at Aston Villa), Richards (Man City), Brown (Man Utd), Ferdinand (Man Utd), Terry (Chelsea), A Cole (Chelsea), P Neville (Everton), Campbell (Portsmouth), Lescott (Everton), Shorey (Reading), Wright-Phillips (Chelsea), Gerrard (Liverpool), Barry (Aston Villa), J Cole (Chelsea), Downing (Middlesbrough), Lampard (Chelsea), Young (Aston Villa), Bentley (Blackburn), Owen (Newcastle), Rooney (Man Utd), Smith (Newcastle), Ashton (West Ham), Defoe (Tottenham), Johnson (Everton), Crouch (Liverpool). As a general point, I find it funny how McClaren packs out the squad with more players than he needs so that he isn't criticised as to who he's included and who he leaves out. Glad Ashton's finally in, he'll get the best out of Rooney or Owen, even though they are both better players than him. I hope McClaren see's that the best team isn't necessarily always made up of the best player. Come on Deano... Still no Robert Green though. Behind James he was 2006/07's form keeper, and has performed better than Carson, Robinson and James this season. Not really sure what else he has to do to get in the squad, score a hat-trick maybe?] Thankfully no Jenas/Richardson though, I think his horn for them has finally disappeared.
  16. Name the clubs you visit and rate them: I won't rate the music, as different tastes etc... The End, Holborn, London - Breakbeat/Electro House - 4/5 Has a great dancefloor, its like two long caverns, with the DJ booth smack bang in the middle - fantastic. No lights/lasers, but at the ned of each 'cavern' there is literally a wall of speakers that you can stand directly infornt of - perfect for those a.m. rushes... Second room also had music, a bit more funkier and vocal, but was somewhere to sit down and chat - it was a decent little room. Good crowd as well, with bar pirces very very cheap for a london club: £2.50 for a bottle of Kronenberg Turnmills, Farringdon, London - Electro House/Trance - 4/5 So many little rooms with at least 3 or 4 djs at the same time - great variety. The crowd mood is excellent, everyone up for a party, with a great chill-out area/room that screens old cartoons on the back wall, free massages, and a little bar. Drinks are expensive: £7 for a vodka/coke and a seperate coke. The choice of music/mood is brilliant, the main dance floor has great lights/lasers but is far too small. That's the only thing that let's the place down... Fabric, Farringdon, London - Breaks/D'n'B - 3.5/5 By far the best soundsystem and probably the best two dancefloors of the clubs I've visited with great lasers - beware, can get packed though. The whole place is dark though - no chill out room at all - but has a few little places to sit down. The sofa area inbetween the two dancefloors is very comfortable but fills up quickly, drinks are fairly expensive as well: £4 for a bottle of Magners
  17. Completely agree, and this is what infuriated me with Eriksson and McClaren alike. What's the point of giving Barton 12 minutes of a friendly? Stick him in from the start and see how he does. Same with Barry - the guys does well enough for Villa on the left of midfield, then barely gets a chance on the left when he plays for England. That's the most irritating thing about the McClaren/Eriksson eras, I'm sure they both know far more about football than I do, but surely if a player plays well enough to warrant inclusion in the team/squad then what logic says you then don't play him in said position. Madness.
  18. I think you can to some extent when there's a competitive fixture at hand and you don't want to throw in a young guy for his debut. Not saying I agree with that necessarily, but that's what McClaren has decided upon.
  19. Quite possibly, as I don't think Neville is brilliant by any standard. However as it seems that McClaren doesn't want to experiment too much, none of those players you mentioned have any international experience at senior level, so Neville, in McClarens eyes, is a logical choice. I'm far from a McClaren fan by the way, just don't get me started on his match tactics etc...
