  1. Yes, and Nairo Quintana got second, and the white and polka dot jerseys. It was a really great Tour, even with the first place known since the ITT.
  2. I miss one stage and this happens...
  3. Good center back but he had problems with Porto management last year because he demanded to be transferred. He ended up going on a loan to Napoli where he barely played.
  4. I love to watch cycling. I've had years where I watched all the Ardennes Classics, the three GT's, the Tour of Portugal, the Tour of California... It's a blast to watch it, but yes, I've grown cynical over the years. I loved to watch Armstrong, Ullrich, Rasmussen, Vinokourov... Maybe that's the problem. To me this tour is just like 2009. Amazing performances, that ten years ago would get me all pumped up, but now I just keep tracking the race, not believing in some of those guys. I still have a lot of fun most of the time (hell, I have a lot more fun watching sprint finishes now than before), but stages like today or the ITT to me were just too much.
  5. Actually, this time I wasn't talking about doping. I really got vibes of Armstrong, who until recently was probably the guy I had the fondest memories. The biggest difference was just that Froome did it all almost without taking his ass off the seat. The guy as probably the oddest way of climbing I've seen for a while. Even the way he positions is hands in the bike is different of most riders. But his speed was amazing. But, yes, I have a hard time trusting Froome's results, like I had with Wiggins or Contador. Explosive evolutions from one day to the other are usually what makes me doubtful. Which is a shame, because tonight was a really great mountain stage. Edit: This might be the reason that my favorite tour since Armstrong's first retirement was the one that Evans won. That and probably the last two mountain stages with attacks from afar by Schleck and Contador.
  6. Christopher Armstrong Froome... Even his time was similar to Lance's 2002 climb.
  7. Movistar fucked up big time.
  8. Boasson Hagen out of Tour de France after crash
  9. Well, just seen either his lawyer or agent (not sure) talk on TV and you are more or less correct. He signed a 3 year contract when he was 16. He also signed a precontract for the following 3 seasons, with the last one being a team option. What he alleges is that, since he could not sign for more than 3 years, that precontract is legally void.
  10. While the kidnap story might be true, the only thing we know is what his lawyer told to the press... And his lawyers and agents have lied a lot during the whole mess. The thing is, from what I understand, Sporting had a one season team option over his contract, which Bruma's agents have just started contesting, saying the contract is void and therefore he is a free agent. Which gets rather funnier when his lawyer has just moaned to the press today, because Sporting refused a 8m€ offer from Galatasaray.
  11. That is the sad state that this sport has been put into though. Did you doubt Wiggins last year too? I'm confident he is clean but if I wasn't I probably wouldn't even be able to watch road cycling anymore. Great effort today to increase that lead. He was never going to beat Tony Martin, what a time trial beast he is. And the urine thing is disgraceful, I don't care if that crash was Cav's fault or not. Yes... A lot. It's sad that I watch the Tour every year, and it's been so for over 10 years, but I have a hard time trusting some of the bigger stars like Contador, Wiggins or Froome. And while last year I still could give the benefit of the doubt for the fact that the course fitted Wiggins really well, this is year it just seems really murky. Even if we don't have EBH pulling up front in mountain stages like last year. It's just not their amazing performances. Is how much they exploded and started having spectacular results from one year to the other. Wiggins was an amazing track rider, that's a given, but from one year to the other the guy goes from being awful on the road to a Top 5 in the Tour, riding with the best in the mountains and retaining his TT abilities. At the age of 29... Froome is even more mind boggling, even if he is younger. The guy did nothing relevant until he barely won a Vuelta to a nobody called Cobo Acebo. Ever since the guy started climbing like Pantani and TTing like Armstrong. All of this, after being diagnosed with a pretty mean chronic disease (coinciding with his magnificent improvement). In the end, it's like Contador... I hope he is clean, but I don't believe it that much.
  12. It's a shame I don't trust Froome's amazing results.
  13. Just watched the fight. What an asshole... Laughed hard at the end.
  14. I don't think it was on purpose, but it was a rather dangerous riding from him.
  15. If they go for one of the winners of the Champions League, it should be for Robben or Schweinsteiger. If not, Ronaldo should get it.
  16. Then again, the exact same thing might happen with the PS4.
  17. Yes, Major Nelson was a little outraged by Joe's assumption that it could be changed.
  18. That might be harder because of hardware issues, from what I've been told. Anyway, if this is really happening it's great, surprising news. I'm still more into PS4, because I'm used to Sony's exclusives, but a strong Xbox is good for the business.
