  1. I'm still in without really trying. My eldest started singing it randomly in the back of the car at the weekend but a Facebook check informed me that counts as a cover version so I survived.
  2. My work colleague/friend has just opened an Etsy store selling glittery resin meeples. After plenty of discussions with me she decided she wanted to use her resin modelling skills for the geekier among us and add some glitter and bright colours. We used some of my Carcassonne meeples to make the moulds and since then she's been perfecting the process and is offering sets for people. All the photos on that page were badly taken by me and are of meeples she's made which I now have. It's a well good gift for a family member or friend, choose their favourite colour, choose how sparkly you want them and they (or you) then have a personal set of 8 meeples to use in games in the future. Her Etsy is below, it's £9.99 per set of 8. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/745992144/magical-meeples-you-choose-the-colour?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=meeples&ref=sr_gallery-1-9
  3. The first one. McConaughey playing a cult leader with aviator sunglasses, yes.
  4. Aside from the first few drives, I really enjoyed watching the Dolphins today. The trick play of Haack (P) throwing to Sanders (K) on the 4th down for the TD was an an absolute beauty. Also top 'Fins traditions of Wildcat plays and onside kicks meant we barely punted all game, which is a huge change for us. We just couldn't run against the Eagles for most of the game, but Fitz went 113 passer score with like 400+ passing yards. Gesicki is a really talented young TE and has been brilliant this season. Laird should be given far more snaps than Ballage and played really well as a RB who can catch - he was central to our push in the 3rd/4th quarters. DeVante Parker's catching was ridiculous, especially how he somehow stayed in touch for his first TD of the game. Shows that with a decent coach some of our underachievers can start to show their stuff. 37 points is apparently our biggest score in FOUR SEASONS which is ridiculous but shows how poor we were under Gase. We're playing kids, rejects and quirky misfits but are still starting to look exciting...and that's before our "big" draft year coming up. I'm more excited by this Dolphins team than any in the Tannehill era. We're also doing this with a huge amount of injuries - Preston Williams who was shining as a breakthrough WR, Xavien Howard, Reshad Jones, half of our D and O lines at any one time. Apparently we've used 70 different players this season due to injuries and suchlike. Really glad that the coach is trying to pick up wins rather than just tanking. It took a few weeks to get going with basically all our bigger names being cleaned out and a new QB unit, but 3-2 over the last 5 weeks with THIS team?! Beautiful.
  5. My 2018/2019 strategy of waiting as long as possible to buy games to get them as cheap as possible has just dealt up long-term wishlist Farcry 5 for £10 preowned (played quite a bit the last few days - enjoying the setting and story, it's certainly still Farcry though) and South Park Fractured But Whole for £5 (which is fun). Winwin.
  6. Trainspotting, The Beach or Grosse Pointe Blank for licenced songs. 28 Days Later or Sunshine for original (John Murphy both, with Underworld for Sunshine). Videogame: Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm Lots of Daughter, Foals...lots of other great bands and then some really well picked other tracks too like this one right at the start.
  7. Even a large chunk of our fans on Twitter are angry that we're doing too well last week and this (so far) because they want to "Tank for Tua" still. You're right about the number of QBs, all of which I think you could build an offense around. Flores is really bringing in some great hustle to the team, some very interesting plays and cutting back on the fouls that were rife under Gase. The wage bill has also been slashed and he's been bringing in line and secondary players who are really versatile too. I'm liking what I see but we're nowhere near anything like the finished article. There are a LOT of Dolphins picks in the draft, whatever we finish the season on, so with this coaching team I think things could get very good over the next few years....whether we get Tua or not.
  8. 'Fins 10-0 up at the Colts at the half. Some good hustle from my boys today. Loved Fitzmagic's run for the TD.
  9. So how do we think this is ultimately going to affect iplayer, ITV player, All 4 etc? I mean, if we're already paying a licence fee for BBC it feels pretty despicable if they start stripping iplayer and putting their shows behind a paywall meaning we have to pay twice to see them.
  10. Even in our tank season we can still beat the Jets. Ahhhh that cheered me up. I loved seeing Gase's sad little face and seeing that he's taken all the fouls we gave away under him with him to New York. Also, it appears we have three promising young players on the offence. Gesicki at TE has quickly become my favourite, Williams at WR is making some excellent plays and Mark Walton seems to be a very solid RB. Things are only going to get better next season and this team of leftovers already appears to be learning and developing.
  11. So it's very much like our real lives then?
  12. I wonder how Becky feels being the much-vaunted face of '20 and it'll be remembered as a terrible mess? I think that about sports stars at times and wonder if they care if they're the cover star of a weak iteration of a series, the one that gets returned, is sold cheap, ends up in all the bargain bins....or if it's no big thing. Some will no doubt be very excited to be the cover star after all. I know it's first world problems and they'll get over it when they're sleeping on all their money, but still...
  13. Probably because he'd take over Australasia. Classic Hendrix.
  14. Competition really does drive improvement so it would be good. FIFA got very lazy but then ISS Pro became Pro Evolution Soccer and became the better game for a run of years and FIFA had to push on and improve, which it did. But then Pro Evo started going wrong, FIFA "won" the war and then got lazy focusing on the card packs and so on.
  15. The first series of TNG really seems like TOS v1.5 at times. Thankfully Keith (I think) tipped me off to the Greatest Generation podcast (amusing talk-throughs and reviews of TNG episodes) which got me through the bleak times. Series 2 is very hit and miss too. Three gets better and Four better still.
  16. I'm glad that Robyn gets the respect she deserves for her talent and choonage. Also seeing M.I.A high up in the singles is correct. That said, this shows that the 2010s is not the decade where my favourite genres thrived in anything near the mainstream.
  17. So Death Stranding and LA Noire VR are going to be getting some Hamster love. Potentially confused Hamster love but love nonetheless.
  18. In 2020 we have 13 picks so far. Six of which in the first three rounds. 1st: Own, Texans2nd: Own, Saints3rd: Own, projected compensatory pick4th: Own, Titans5th: Projected compensatory pick6th: Own, Cowboys7th: Own, Chiefs In 2021 we have nine at the moment. For yeeeears we've bumped between 6-10, 7-9, 8-8, 9-7 and could have done that ad infinitum probably. So it's to build a team that can reach the playoffs consistently and make serious challenges. It's going to be really hard though as you need to get players in who are willing to sacrifice time from their career for the project. They need to join the team in the knowledge of that. This approach is far from a guarantee of success though, but I guess the owner (as much as I hate him) thought it was worth a go.
  19. Just depressing. I know the plan but it doesn't make this much easier to watch. We're definitely going to lose a few more talented players this season. I just want to see signs of improvement and a few things to cheer about scattered throughout the misery. I hope we start Rosen going forward. He's thrown more good passes in a few minutes than that bearded div did in three and a half quarters.
  20. Phew, Rosen's back. At least he's throwing some interesting balls in this horror show. Our defensive line is horrific. Giving QBs no cover or time whatsoever. WRs are barely able to pull in a ball. Ballage has been dreadful. The only plusses are that we have a great punter in Haack, that the defense has made a few decent plays and Rosen brings some interest, even though he's not actually "done" much today. At 23-0 it was reasonable. The two pick sixes were disgusting though, firstly from Fitz throwing late inside and then the ridiculous juggling.
