  1. To be honest, I don't care what the Spanish and Italian clubs do. Let'em.
  2. I feel that if football is determined to become more and more global and I feel I can't support my own team anymore, maybe I won't constrain myself to England. St Pauli and FC Union Berlin are much closer to how I feel about things anyway.
  3. Gillingham is my local league team so it would probably be a bump over to them. But THIRTY YEARS of supporting Tottenham will be incredibly painful and difficult to break even if this all happens (and to be honest even if it doesn't, even being part of this has disgusted me). When I heard it last night it immediately felt like a way to make a US-style tournament (confirmed by the US owners being front and centre) without relegation, the safety of making big money season in season out, with a big focus on Indian, Chinese, Indonesian and Malaysian fans. That's where they see the market. They can charge £100 a ticket and fill grounds with sightseers and football tourists. Everything I've heard since only supports this. If players can't play for their country, it'll end up becoming the new US/China where old "big name" players come to see out their mid-late 30s for £400k a week after finishing their international careers. It'll be a circus.
  4. At 10pm (in 50mins) we're up with the next Boysfromthebalticstar episode at twitch.tv/boysfromthebalticstar.
  5. We're half an hour away from tonight's Baltic Star sesh. Last week we hugged trees, bought Earthpark t-shirts and caps, ate BBQ, watched some Earth performances and got told off by security for trying to join in with the gymnastics. This week there's definitely cable cars. I also doubt our DM will let us have another two hours of pleasantness and sightseeing. Consider dropping in, or giving us a follow.
  6. I went very much for hacker (levelled that up to 20 while my next highest was still 9!) with some gun skills and crafting. I poured all of my perks into it too so have most perks when hacking into people. I then got a very strong chip and built up my Cyberdeck. It's insanely overpowered now (but I love that I can hack a camera, move around a base through cameras and kill or knock out everyone before just wandering in to do what I need). HOWEVER, it's VERY tough early on as the hacks aren't all that strong to start with. In gunfights I was doing a lot of hiding, backing away etc. It's better now but I felt one or two shots from death for quite a long time. I liked that though. My friend went big on the Mantis claws, getting close and dirty with them, with some specific hacking. So we had two different experiences and both were fun. I agree that you should kind of decide on a build and pout 3/4ths of your perks etc into that build, with a couple of other stats that give you a little breadth - so now I can one shot kill with sniper rifles and can craft and upgrade my armour and weapons.
  7. Though he's supposed to be unlikeable. 😂 I always give villains or side characters a pass when it comes to being unlikeable! As a father I found that storyline, especially reading the laptop and understanding what had happened, deeply unpleasant...but not in a "this game sucks" way. More a "ok, I'm emotionally invested, we get this kid back at ANY cost" way.
  8. I never had that problem in my copy.
  9. Speaking of people who haven't been give $5000, BoysFromTheBalticStar is starting up in 30 minutes. We've gone into orbit around a new planet, Giikur, and the world is our oyster right now. We can go and talk with Deepnight about the mysterious carvings they want to plough loads of money into finding out more about, we can mooch around the starbase, we can trade the goods we bought in Ossin, we can head down to the capital city with its seven districts and either try and have fun times, cause some mischief, help some folk or, as is our usual approach, assassinate a planetary leader in the hope that it brings more power to the people....or we can go to Earthpark - the wonderful tourist attraction with animals, plants and other magical treats from some place called Earth. So many options.
  10. Friday night was episode six of Boys from the Baltic Star. We scarper out of Ossin and jump through space to sunnier climes - the beautiful ocean world of Giikur with its' capital city built on seven mountains and its' hugely popular tourist attraction Earthpark. It's almost a fresh start, so a good time to join us! Www.twitch.tv/boysfromthebalticstar
  11. Myself and two friends are playing the Traveller RPG every Friday night from 10-midnight GMT. It's a sci-fi game which is brilliant but not as popular as dnd of course. We also have been meeting up for an hour on a Thursday night at 10.30pm just to chat about the game, Traveller, TTRPGs etc in general.
  12. Session 4 tonight at 10 GMT! The crew are looking to stage a revolution against rhe corpo-controlled puppet leader of the planet. I hope we succeed. If we don't at least it should blow up spectacularly in our faces. https://www.twitch.tv/boysfromthebalticstar
  13. Session 3 tonight at 10. See us try and recover our cool after our GM's big swervy cliffhanger last week.
  14. Hey guys. Tonight my friends and I are streaming our Traveller RPG game over Twitch for the first time, from 10pm until midnight at https://m.twitch.tv/boysfromthebalticstar Traveller is a sci-fi adventure in a VERY large universe with a massive range of things you can do. Our game has run for a year so far and I will be posting videos on youtube over the coming days and weeks to provide "the story so far". Tonight finds Soraya (PC), Agnar (PC) and Sever (NPC) about to land at an orbiting processing plant that has been taken over by a local mercenary organisation who have beef with us. Join us for some laser pew pew pews and wine drinking.
  15. Went in on my first ever Kickstarter recently. Couldn't say no. Picked up the deluxe version with Green Party expansion. It's highly rated and it sounds good from reviews and gameplay videos.
  16. I often wear sub-optimal outfits because I like how they look. My crafting is pretty good so I just upgrade those instead. I have the bright yellow graffiti-patched netrunner jacket and some high yellow motorbike boot things along with the Samurai t-shirt, black cap and some cool dark mesh trousers with a buckle here and there. Even though I only ever see myself in the menu or in photo mode you still gotta look good - it's the Cyberpunk ethos! I got the sniper rifle from Panam which I've upgraded to about 700 damage per shot (up a lot higher wit a headshot or a critical) and have upgraded Dex's pistol in my other main shot (with a melee in the third slot). As I tend to kill everyone from a distance or with hacking, I no longer need weapons with a fast rate of fire or the stopping damage of a shotgun. My mate collected pretty much every weapon Rare and above and his stash is rammed with them, but I tend to keep about eight firearms and a small variety of melee weapons on me and sell the rest as I go.
  17. Traveller continues with much enjoyment. We're close to the Rift (a mysterious part of space, an important part of various long campaigns) and are about to meet with the corporation who are going to hire us to go on the big campaign after some flirting with some adventures nearby (including a gross body horror gloop on a cursed planet that we travelled to on a Rifthauler previously). The last few sessions have been based on a mining planet, very much a "hive of scum and villainy". Topped up weapons and equipment and having some scuffles. Good times. We're also rolling up some dnd 5e characters to give our Traveller GM a chance to play for once. The plan is to play dnd every now and again as a fun "night off" for him. My daughter will join us from time to time. She went halfling druid, our Traveller GM went human paladin, other friend went dragonborn bard so I took half elf rogue. Set-up feels both fiddlier and less enjoyable than Traveller but I think I like what I've gone for with my rogue. I much prefer sci-fi to fantasy but it'll be fun to go drinking in a tavern and stealing from dodgy blacksmiths no doubt.
  18. I've put a lot of hours into it now, I play slowly though. Loving the stories and the world. The characters are really strong and some of the missions are just brilliant. Yes there are definitely shortcomings, glitches and suchlike, but I've still only crashed once on my PS4 slim (the first day of the 1.06 patch). There is a chunk of things missing that were discussed and expected and it's definitely a victim of its own hype as much as actual technical issues. For all its faults, as a world I love it more than RDR2 or any GTA...although I am a massive fan of the genre so that probably papers over a lot of the problems. I've turned my V into a big hacker guy. When having to sneak into a Arasaka warehouse base I think I killed 30 guys and a mech, but only shot one of those. The mech went down with two Weapons Glitch hacks and all the others I took out through my eyes, or remotely through surveillance cameras, with superpowered overheat and synapse burnout hacks. Then just wandered through to complete the mission. There's definitely a variety of ways to get things done, although stealth is HAAAAARD (though have got one new hack that resets an enemy's memory so they go back to not knowing you're there, which is fun). So yeah, lots of people not enjoying the game whatsoever. I'm loving it and, when finished, will probably come back in the summer after a couple more patches and DLC.
  19. It was always said that England were the country always on backup for if a country couldn't fulfil WC or Euro hosting. We have the stadiums, infrastructure etc.....But I doubt anyone would want to send their national team to this disease-infested hellhole right now!
  20. I have a number of Air albums so your guess isn't ridiculous. I love how they brought something new to the genres they filled and, much like Royksopp, every now and again there's an itch that only they can scratch.
  21. I'm up to 3.10. Saru and Culber have been my MVPs of the series. Culber is now his own character with his own strengths and not just partner-of-Stamets or back-from-the-dead-guy. Saru has made mistakes as he learns how to be captain and is naturally cautious, but he's brilliant at talking to representatives from planets and has been the one most willing to return to Starfleet chain of command and "greater good". If I was the admiral I'd be getting Saru to keep making contact with planets to try to bring them back to the Federation. He's great as that guy.
  22. Panam is unquestionably alluring and brilliant, but more than anything this scene just made me miss sitting at the bar and chatting.
