  1. I played it yeeeears ago when it first came out and was really singing its' praises in the forum back then. Thing is, it's been a dozen years since I played it so I've forgotten most of the chapters and am enjoying discovering the game all over again. I definitely agree that first playthrough is the canonical story though. On our channel I play a lot of story/decision-based games and definitely follow that mentality. Until Dawn, Man of Medan, Detroit, Heavy Rain and now Road 96 all provide me with that first "true" ending.
  2. I'm working through Heavy Rain at the moment, which has a lot of those similar decisions to make. About to start Road 96 this week, definitely looking forward to that!
  3. The play through is spread over numerous hour and a bit sessions. They'll be found in this collection: https://www.twitch.tv/collections/uJqGsYRFlBZ5pQ The first Detroit video is here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1434156137?collection=uJqGsYRFlBZ5pQ
  4. Completed Detroit: Become Human on stream. Partial success but an excellent game.
  5. Having only started this during lockdown, my wife and I manage to grab an episode a week or so due to childrens bedtimes and busy evenings. That means we're quite far behind but are now into the second half of season 10. Season 10 is really really unfairly overlooked as we both really rate it. I know it suffers because of being a Covid series and them being sat apart, no live audience etc, but there's a really good vibe between them all and Daisy, Johnny and Katherine ending up in tears of laughter so often is wonderful. In fact it's probably one of only a few series where I actively like every contestant and they all try to do their best more often than not. The team tasks struggle 'cos of the Covid rules, but there are some excellent tasks and while you have some good-natured grumbling about perceived unfair decisions, it doesn't spill over into being annoying. We chose NOT to watch season 8 because we saw one episode while on holiday last year and hated it and I spent half of season 7 dreading having to watch it next.
  6. For those who want to play games in space and fancy branching out from DnD, let me suggest he following which we play and love on our Twitch channel. TRAVELLER (MONGOOSE 2nd EDITION) Traveller is the ultimate sandbox. Want to do space battles? Sure. Pirates? Sure. Vast galactic wars? Sure. Overthrow governments? Sure. Trading? Sure. Hi-tech/cyberpunk/near-future tech/decaying worlds/feudal worlds? Sure. Boarding creepy dead ships? Landing on strange worlds and fighting aliens or terrifying creatures? Sure Sure. Or schlump around like we do, visiting worlds and doing very different things on each while enjoying brunch. ORBITAL BLUES Orbital Blues focusses on the space western genre - mix up Cowboy Bebop, Firefly and every other jazzy sadness-tinged, dusty adventure there's been. Sticks to d6s (like all my suggestions here) and throws in some interesting mechanisms regarding mental state, combat range, going out in a blaze of glory, carrying equipment etc. Very cool, we're a few sessions in (playing again on stream this Saturday) and loving it. THOSE DARK PLACES Simple and deadly game that exudes Alien, Outland and that brutal industrial sci-fi future with knackered ships and uncaring, vast corporations sending men and women into space to mine for decades at a time. Really easy to learn, creates really atmospheric games (with the designer providing extra adventures, some of which are pretty brutal).
  7. In my mind the best album is Pixies' "Surfer Rosa". I've got the edition which has "Come on Pilgrim" tacked onto the end into a glorious combo and that is pretty much 20 bangers. Possibly Blink 182's "Enema of the State" is weirdly the only album which comes close, although I'm not a big fan of Adam's Song. I could put a whole chunk of albums on "amazing", but perfect is a big word. I'm a big song skipper and will often put an album on just to listen to a few tracks.
  8. I completed my streamed playthrough of Deliver Us The Moon last weekend. Good game, amazing sound and story. On stream I've now completed: Alien Isolation Hitman 1 Hitman 2 Until Dawn The Occupation Man of Medan Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifce Deliver Us The Moon Thursdays are now continuing Detroit: Become Human and tonight I start Heavy Rain (which I played, loved and heavily posted about when it came out).
  9. Started that anime Roman baths series on Netflix last night - Thermae Romae Novae. Was very underwhelmed until the swerve in episode 1 which was very good (I knew nothing about the comic or story until now). I also loved how the last five minutes was the writer travelling around Japanese onsen which was interesting. I hope that continues at the end of every episode - it reminded me of Mysterious Cities of Gold where at the end of some episodes there would be some narrated documentary footage of the Incas and Aztecs.
  10. Lots of happiness among us Dolphins fans unsurprisingly.
  11. Just finished Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice and nearly had a little emotional cry live on stream as it ended. Stunning game.
  12. The Occupation completed on-stream. Good game. Prologue good for setting up background and feel, first "proper" mission excellent, second "proper" mission very good. Flashbacks and incidental bits ok. Third and fourth "proper" missions alright but definitely loved the set up of having an hour to sneak around offices and corridors to find evidence while the clock was ticking.
  13. I'm still waiting for bigger DLC before returning to it but I loved my playthrough on slim PS4 back when it was released and never had any major bugs or crashes. My chosen ending was to take on the final mission with Panam. No spoilers about how that goes.
  14. Playing games on Twitch on Thursdays and Sundays has meant I actually complete games now. I never have done that often in the past, I often run out of steam. Anyway, over the last few months I have streamed and completed: Alien Isolation Hitman (main missions) Hitman 2 (main missions) Until Dawn Man of Medan And am working through The Occupation and about to start Hellblade. A great excuse to play and complete games!
  15. Dolphins fan. After reading around Twitter the last few days I'm glad Flores has gone. It's EXTREMELY telling that no offensive players have said anything good about him or have been shocked at his departure.
  16. All the Christmas-related songs by Beatles members.
  17. Young SPOTY should probably be Sky Brown. She was one of the big stories and darlings from the Olympics and would be a very popular choice I feel.
  18. Our GM dug out the old Fighting Fantasy RPG ruleset from 1984 and we played it on stream over the last couple of Saturdays. It's wonderfully simple. Apparently the adventure we played was supposed to take 90 minutes in the early-80s approach to roleplaying which was focused on the combat, looting and traps. In our group's roleplaying-centric approach it was over 5 hours of entertaining nonsense.
  19. Our defense are definitely picking up as the season goes on. Holland is a real talent and Flores was clearly calling the defensive plays as we looked mobile, aggressive and swarmy, like last season. Great to see Tua back with some good passes. All in all a brilliant game for a Dolphins fan, topped off with this best-TD-that-never-was play. (You'll have to watch it on youtube, it's the Hunt "TD" where he's flipped over as he reaches for the endzone).
  20. Niiiiice, I've wanted to play Walking Dead but not been ready to drop £25.
  21. I know the Jaguars was always lined up to become the "England" team and that the Jets are pretty well supported here. Dolphins too for those of us who got into it back in the 80s.
  22. I love her anyway so have been looking forward to it because of her. One episode in and she's not disappointed.
  23. My bandmates are moving to Scotland. We have one more practice this Friday and then they're gone. We've completed and practiced 8 new songs from just before and over lockdown, so the plan is that they'll put down a rough version, e-mail them to me, I'll record bass and send it back for them to finish up before we send them to our mate to properly engineer. But it feels a bit janky, I'll be gutted if we don't get them down as a few I REALLY rate.
  24. We've just watched the first episode of series 7 and you can already tell it's setting up to be a classic. I've never seen Alex Horne giggling away so much.
