I got to the second round of the World Cup with Canada, winning a group that also included Argentina and the Czechs (drew with the Argies, beat the Czechs and beat Iran). But after all that I ended up losing to Japan in the second round 5-1.

I've got £5 on Costa Rica to beat Germany. I don't think they'll do it but 15/1 odds were too good to turn down. I've also got a fiver on Spain to win it at 15/1 as well. But it looks like I'm going to miss the opening game, I've been trying to get it so I can leave an hour early but all I've managed is 5:10pm. Which means I'll be home when the games around 2/3 done.

I'd have to say the Holland win was the better performance. All they needed to was draw that game to get through and they went out and demolished the Dutch. Everyone was outstanding that day (Shearer, Sheringham, Gascoigne even Anderton and McManaman) and throughout the tournament as well.

He didn't score at all throughout the qualifying stages IIRC so what makes you think he's going to start scoring now?

They do have Steve Round and Steve Harrison at the club who are very good coaches who would be there to help Southgate. I remember reading a while ago that they were going to go for a multi-man setup or something of the sort with Southgate, Round, Harrison, Colin Cooper & Ugo Ehigou (however you spell it) all people who could carry on the same set-up left by McClaren, which is why Venables was approached. I believe Round has the Pro Licence so he could well be appointed Manager if Southgate falls through, with Southgate then operating under him until he has the qualifications.

I'm getting it. It's just a straight port of the PSP version pretty much without multiplayer, although I believe they've added to the soundtrack. I didn't get it for the PSP, so being half the price of the PSP version it's worth if you haven't got it yet.

Maybe it's a problem with the game as you should get some sort of a reply. When you start negotiating the contract does it say he's willing to negotiate a new contract (i.e. it'll say what he's after) or does it say he's not willing at this time?

Yeah, I just signed Kerlon from Real Madrid for Newcastle. He wanted a minimum fee release clause of £20 million (when I signed him for £26 million). I put it at £150 million and he still accepted that. I did get a little worried about the clause turning him off because Juve, Milan and Barca had all had offers accepted. Wright Phillips also had a £13 million release clause on his contract (I missed it and only noticed it when Man Utd became interested). I offered him a new contract (same terms, just a year longer) with a £65 million release clause and he accepted.

I've got it for the 360. Just done the Casino level (taking out the Arabs or whatever) which is level 8 or 9 I think. The wedding reception level was by far the easiest. Too easy in fact, it only took 4 minutes to get through and get a Silent Assassin rating.

Isn't the National Pool just a sort of guide to help you pick the players without searching for them? Your U21/U19 manager will/should pick players who aren't in the National Pool. I could be wrong though, haven't played an international game in ages.
