  1. I'm imagine he's being brought in so that we can either ship Coates off on loan or permanently. He'll be behind Agger and the Skrtel/Carragher replacement/s in the pecking order. He's alright, but he's agonizingly slow, Rodgers gave him the captains armband at 21 when he was manager at Reading though so that says something about his mental strength I guess
  2. Alex Pearce from Reading to Liverpool on a free is a cert apparently.
  3. Its kinda annoying when you see Liverpool fans try desperately to defend his actions. Im a Reading fan, and we had Andre Bikey, who lost his shit a few times, and although his tantrums were more comical and wtf, it was still embarrassing for the club.
  4. McCarthy is a future England Keeper in the making. So glad he's back from injury. Reading are a good club for developing keepers, Mikkel Anderssen is a bright prospect too, and one of our younger players recently left and joined Man United's youth team.
  5. Its Jarring watching us try and play a passing game under Adkins, as were so terribly bad at it, good to see we are changing our style of play, but its embarrassing to watch
  6. 2013 has been a very good year to me in terms of good albums. Pissed Jeans Tyler The Creator MBV Wavves A$AP Rocky Sure theres more that my 9am brain is forgetting. Plus new QOTSA in june.
  7. New Wavves album is delightful. The lead single Demons To Lean on is such a catchy tune.
  8. He has to pick a 23 man squad (or whatever it is) and all of those players are automatically on the bench. He couldn't just call up 11 players. For different reasons though, I find that excuse to be a very weak one from Roy. Yeah, I mean one part of his job is to pick a 23 man squad to get the job done. He then turns around with his hands up in the air saying there wasn't anyone who could do the job on the bench....
  9. I like the excuse Roy used that he didn't make any subs as he had no one on the bench who could alter the course of the game. Then why on earth did you pick them to be on the bench ffs?
  10. No more carbs for the Reading players then... #adkinsdiet
  11. I think the target is 35 points for survival. Thats 4 wins in 8 games. We got Southampton and QPR at home, as well as Norwich, West Ham and Fulham away, which you wouldn't say we can win but it wouldn't be a shock. But we've only won 5 games this season, so if you put it that way its pretty impossible. Shame, we went up unexpectedly last season and we didn't take advantage of it, we should of strengthened in the summer, and when it was obvious in January we needed to strengthen, we did barely any deals. Oh well.
  12. Not sure about the appointment, he turned us down last week, obviously we came back with more money and he's accepted. Seems like he's taken the job because of money rather the the challenge
  13. Warhol 2013 "In the future, everyone will manage Blackburn for 15 minutes"
  14. Luis Enrique has suddenly became the 2nd favourite with the bookies to take over at Reading. I'd like that, Barca B side manager, so used to playing attacking, fluid football.
  15. Nobody in their right mind would go to Blackburn, but now McDermott is out a job?
  16. Apparently the Reading squad have said they don't want Di Canio as the manager. I've also heard Adkins is the boards choice, but his lawsuit with Southampton may scupper that. With RDM unlikely, Gus Poyet is probably my odds on favorite to take over.

  18. He will find another job easy this summer, any championship team would be happy to have him, I think his naivety in the Prem has ultimately cost him the job, we played old school 4-4-2 hoofball football, which is probably because of the talent available, or should I say lack of talent available to play anything else effectively. Was never expecting much from this season anyway, we over acheived with this squad last season, and by not strengthening sufficiently, it was obvious we were going to be murdered in this league. Luckily, it hasn't been too bad and we have kept somewhat competitive, but we are still playing the worst football ive seen us play since the mid 90's when we had Tommy Burns as boss.
  19. I personally want Di Matteo, but probably a bit of a strech, and interest has cooled on him. Di Canio im unsure about, purely because he's a character, and not something we usually go for, but it may work as he will put the boot to the players no doubt. I'd like Nigel Adkins but I think he's still disputing his dismissal at Southampton, which makes him unavailable for work until resolved. Phil Parkinson is a legend at the club, and if we went down i'd take him at Championship level no doubt. Alex McLeish without a job is scaring me sensless though. Gus Poyet has thrown his hat in too apparently. Im just annoyed that we sacked Brian with 9 games left, and it looks more and more like we didn't already have a replacement lined up. It has Wolves last season written all over it.
  20. So depressing, but the vibe around the place after saturday wasn't great, he has seemingly lost the board and the dressing room. Shame, likable man and our 2nd most successful manager in history. Thanks for all the hard work Brian, but the Prem is one step too far for your tactics. We are down no matter who is in charge, I think the idea was that someone can bed in well and assess the squad for the championship next season, with the remote chance that they galvanise the team and actually get us out the bottom 3.
  21. Today im wallowing in pity and I love it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7Gee3THtb8
  22. Yeah the Deftones show was good. Made me realise just how awesome the new album really is. Probably one of their best
  23. For the first time this season, I think after the Chelsea game, we ( Reading) can actually survive. We have all the teams around us to play at home, and if we continue our January form into Feb and March we will make it over the line. All we need is Le Fondre to keep up his scoring record, Kebe to run more directly at defenders, Pogrebnyak to show a bit more muscle up front, and Morrison to return to his pre injury form and we will be fine.
  24. Apparently Reading had a 10m + bid rejected for Gylfi yesterday. Not sure whether we disclosed this to give off the impression to the fans that we were looking to spend, but it didn't work out, or it was actually a genuine offer.
