  1. Missouri is not making the playoff even if they win, a home loss to Indiana is as bad a loss as it gets. The SEC will be left out unless Bama wins or chaos happens like what Hail said.
  2. Hoyer left the Browns no choice....Manziel is the teams QB now and going forward. First drive...touchdown Johnny.
  3. Donaldson is cost-controlled for 4 more seasons, it's just a move they made because it will benefit them short and long term. Production wise he's been one of the best all around players in baseball the last 2 years. It's a big upgrade for Toronto.
  4. Melvin Gordon broke the single game record with 408 yards rushing today for Wisconsin. He's over 1900 yards this year now and is the clear Heisman favorite I'd say.
  5. With a large boost from Rashard Lewis, who happened to test positives for steroids and be suspended the next season for it.
  6. bortles, dalton, hoyer, glennon, weeden, palmer, fitzpatrick, sanchez, vick (now simms), smith, rivers, tannenhill, rg3, bridgewater....very pathetic slate of QBs in the 1 PM games today (with only a few good ones mixed in)
  7. Dennis Green's speech applies again to Brandon Weeden here...he is who we thought he was.
  8. Didn't Westbrook play every game for like four or five seasons before missing his first game? I remember he and KD being new gen iron men. Monta Ellis has played every game in the past 2 years, and they don't talk about him >_> Also, good on Rubio to get a good deal. He's one of the smoothest passers in the league, and if he can continue improving his shooting touch he can become very very valuable. It's just a shame he's stuck on a team that seems to be spinning it's wheels all the time. But hopefully the Rubio extension will make other players more enticed to stick around. Giving a PG who is a complete liability shooting the ball 55 million is probably going to make it less likely people will stick around. Hopefully for the TWolves sake he will develop into a semi-decent scoring threat but that contract has all the makings of a disaster if not. Yes, I'm sure having a pass first PG is a massive deterrent to other players. It isn't like Rubio jacks up 25 shots a game and hits 35% of them, he averages 8-9 shots a game whilst playing over 30 minutes. I also see Love leaving as a reason some guys will be more likely to stick around. Everything was run for Love, now if you're hot or open you'd better get ready for Rubio to get you the ball. Beyond all that, Rubio has been working with a shooting coach who is now on staff. He's hitting his shots this year (small sample I know), he has even developed a shot fake to get defenders in the air and to draw a foul off them Kevin Martin style. He's shooting 9/22 through his first two games (40%) which includes two half court heaves at the end of quarters, take those out and it's 45%. Every night he's a triple double threat, he's one of the best rebounding PGs, is always close to 10 assists per game and always comes close to leading the league in steals and despite what lazy reports say it isn't from gambling. At most it's from taking a step into a passing lane which he can recover from, it isn't Brewer running 5 feet off his man to try and steal. But yes, I'm sure 99% of NBA players are going to hate hearing "we have a PG who would much rather pass you the ball in a good position than take a shot themselves, so unfortunately you will need to shoot the ball more from good positions". People like to play with Rubio because of his passing for sure, and I'm not saying he doesn't have a place in the NBA for it, but right now he is on pace to go down as one of the worst shooters ever (his FG% would qualify as 13th worst in NBA history). There is simply no way that a guy who shoots so poorly and is a huge liability at the most important aspect of the game is worth 55 million over 4 years. The TWolves are clearly banking on him improving, which he definitely could since he's young still (much like Jason Kidd, who was a terrible shooter early in his career and developed into an asset at shooting) but until then it will be an overpay that will limit what they can do on offense.

  10. Rose getting hurt again already is just the norm for him now. I would absolutely love to see a full strength Bulls vs full strength Cavs in the playoffs but I don't see how Rose makes it through the year. He is a shell of his former self physically.
  11. Hey Jerry, you can have Manziel for a 1st! Deadlines tomorrow!
  12. Weeden vs McCoy....only on Monday Night Football!
  13. Stunning news just broke...Oscar Taveras has died. Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeymanCBS 2m2 minutes ago San Francisco, CA such sad new out of baseball. i am sorry to say Oscar Taveras has been killed in a car accident. reports unfortunately true.
  14. They aired the first 2 episodes as the premiere in the US and I didn't even put two and two together that it wasn't in the "actual" premiere episode, my bad.
  15. The scene involving from the S4 premiere last week pretty much ended all hopes I had for the show.
  16. The Cavs actually have a major trade asset to get another big piece in Brandon Haywood's non-guaranteed contract next year. This article http://www.hoopsrumors.com/2014/07/brendan-haywoods-contract.html explains how the Cavs can use it to get a very good player by next summer but regardless money is never an issue for them because the owner spends whatever it takes to win. Not sure they'll have the cap to sign a 4th star outright (like Show said, LeBron and company will eat at the extra space) but players will always take discounts to play with LeBron now.
  17. I'd say it's bad news for the Wizards and getting Durant. Before, they had the max space to already sign Durant and most other teams did not have enough room to team up Durant with other stars potentially. Now? Durant can team up with 2 or 3 other max players and go to LA, NY, Brooklyn...hell, even stay in OKC (if they stop being cheap). If Durant doesn't care about markets then I don't see why he'd leave OKC, but if he wants to create his own super team he'd go to the Lakers or Knicks at this point over signing with the Wizards in 2016, IMO.
  18. https://vine.co/v/OKmLY5Fmur7 Hail Mary to win it for ASU...wow
  19. Not sure if anyone saw this but a former OSU LB who is now a strength coach stopped a fan who ran onto the field on Saturday and gave him something that looked like a Rock Bottom. Here's a video of it. He has become a very popular man on the internet since then, glad the guy didn't get hurt but he had it coming for running onto the field like a moron.
  20. Kirk Cousins deserves a Dennis Green speech....he is who we thought he was.
  21. Jags are better off not bringing Bortles into this mess, wait until the team around him develops more and then bring him in. You don't want him developing any bad habits or getting hit all the time.
  22. Hard to imagine anyone from the Ravens keeping their job after today's cover up news. Will be sad to see a legend like Ozzie Newsome shamed out of the league but he has to go, along with anyone else involved in this cover up.
  23. Peterson is now deactivated Sunday. The pictures of the kid are online and it is not a pretty sight. I don't see how Peterson doesn't go to jail for this, let alone playing in the NFL again anytime soon.
  24. It doesn't matter, nobody is ever going to sign Ray Rice again. How would they explain it to their female fans (or male fans for that matter)?
