  1. Miguel Cabrera is currently batting .786 (11-14) in the weekend series vs the Indians.
  2. Does anyone have any idea why the show isn't on Netflix (US) yet? It was supposed to go up the day after the season finale but alas, nothing yet.
  3. Bryant going down is all about service time issues. He never had a chance to stay in the majors even if he hit 1000 with 40 homers this spring, no matter what the Cubs say. Almost every team in Baseball does it this way.
  4. Bill Simmons @BillSimmons · 2h 2 hours ago Heard Comedy Central pursued 3 big-ass names for Daily Show: Poehler, Louis CK, Schumer. Went 0 for 3. Young/cheap/upside was smart audible. Not surprised they tried to get a big hire to replace a big name but ultimately going the relatively unknown route could end up the best way long-term.
  5. Source? I've heard nothing but the contrary. Never mind, just found it. It wouldn't shock me but there's no way to know for sure.
  6. Kyrie Irving is why the Cavs not only are the favorites to win the East, but will be very tough to beat for the title. With 2 legit superstars and a very strong supporting cast, nobody should want to play this team the next 3 months. Big time win here.
  7. Trent Richardon has been released by the Colts, but don't worry, it wasn't his fault he sucked MikeWellsNFL: Trent Richardson to ESPN: "Me and the GM didn't see eye to eye. My next step, I'll be the starter. Indy didn't fit me" Good luck with that!
  8. The Browns had little to no interest in Bradford and the interest was essentially gone once they signed McCown (http://espn.go.com/blog/cleveland-browns/post/_/id/12279/browns-exploration-of-sam-bradford-trade-gained-little-traction?ex_cid=espnapi_public ). They did not offer a 1st for him.
  9. Chris Mortensen ‏@mortreport 3m3 minutes ago Ndamukong Suh will sign with #Dolphins on Tuesday based off parameters around $114 million and $60 million guaranteed, per sources. Not really a surprise to see him end up in Miami but damn that's a lot of money. They just have to hope he doesn't go Albert Haynesworth on them.
  10. Marshawn Lynch has decided to return to Seattle next year and has reached a new contract agreement with Seattle.
  11. Robert Kirkman said on Talking Dead at one point this season that when the show was first getting started they considered making Daryl gay but decided against it early on so it doesn't seem likely to happen at any point.
  12. This is not going to go well for the Jets. Marshall is a headache that has been given up by 3 teams already when he's been playing well, now imagine him in New York with no QB to get him the ball. I think the Jets made this move without any rational thinking and Marshall's going to become a major negative influence as the season goes on.
  13. Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 2m2 minutes ago Filed to ESPN: Bills have notified LB Kiko Alonso he is going to be traded to Philadelphia for RB LeSean McCoy. Trade official next week. Absolutely stunning move...
  14. Hoyer was never even considered to come back based on what I read. He's been gone for a while. The Browns are gonna draft a QB at some point (it may be in a ridiculous trade up for Mariota or it may be in round 2-3) but the QB's on the roster will be Manziel, McCown and Rookie in some order.
  15. With the Hawks looking mortal again, the Raptors lacking star power/consistency and the Bulls out of contention, the East is looking about as safe a bet as possible for the Cavs now.
  16. Derrick Rose has torn his meniscus again in his right knee and is probably out for the season.
  17. It looks like Chris Bosh's season is over due to a blood clot in his lung. This was a pretty scary situation because he had symptoms for the ASG Sunday and then took 2 flights since then before going to the doctor. It could've been a life threatening thing. Luckily they have it taken care of for now and it is not life threatening but he won't be able to continue workouts for at least 6 months. Definitely a huge blow for the Heat after just getting Dragic yesterday.
  18. The 76ers getting the Lakers pick from the Suns is pretty big. Top 5 protected this year, but only top 3 next year. They'll be likely to get it one of these next 2 years and that's another very good talent to add.
  19. Minnesota is trying to sign KG to a 2 year extension...I really don't get it. KG has been finished for a couple years now.
  20. It is trade deadline day in the NBA...so far Goran Dragic to Miami Kevin Garnett to Minnesota for Thad Young Arron Affalo to Portland for a 1st Ramon Sessions to Washington for Andre Miller
  21. I always thought Nick Saban was the biggest scumbag coach in College for everything he's done...but even he wouldn't do something like this http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/02/05/bobby-petrino-still-not-a-man-of-his-word/ How Petrino keeps getting jobs is beyond me with a history like that. He completely screwed over his own recruit and now that kid has nowhere to go.
  22. Gordon's never gone a full football calendar year without failing a drug test dating back to college, so it's no surprise at all he's suspended, but they had the chance to trade him for a 2nd in 2013 and Haslam vetoed it. Just another example of the damage Haslam has done to the Browns in such a short amount of time.
  23. To sum up the Browns off-season so far: 1. Johnny Manziel enters rehab 2. Josh Gordon gets suspended for a year 3. The GM is going to be suspended and the team will lose a draft pick due to texting play calls during games. 4. This article http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer/jason-la-canfora/25038103/browns-mess-with-gordon-manziel-starts-with-owner-haslams-mismanagement comes out basically labeling the Browns as the most dysfunctional franchise in sports. Among the highlights from this article: The culture in the Browns building is toxic, I'm told. Morale is beyond low. If you can flee, you are fleeing. There is no shortage of individuals throughout that organization who would, like former offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, get the hell out of there if at all possible. There's an overwhelming sense of dread about the future and a fear that, come the end of the 2015 season, Haslam will do the one thing he has managed to do with any consistency during his three-season reign -- that is, blow up his entire building once again and fire everyone, in essence blaming all but himself for his sweeping failure. Alec Scheiner, the team president who grew in power and influence a year ago after Banner and Lombardi were shown the door after just one season together, has become a divisive figure in the organization as well, gaining an increasing voice in personnel matters, well beyond just analytics. At 6 a.m. every Monday, Pettine is joined by Farmer and Scheiner to watch film, with the division between ownership and day-to-day coaching decisions becoming increasingly blurred. "Jimmy is way too hands on," said one team source. "He's like Jerry Jones, only without the football knowledge. The owner wanted to make a splash, add some pop to his franchise, sell some tickets and jerseys. "That was a business decision," said one source with direct knowledge of the situation. "That's on the owner."The board in Farmer's office leading up to the draft had three names atop it -- Derek Carr, Teddy Bridgewater and Manziel, in that order, sources said. At season's end Shanahan, the lone bright spot on offense, perhaps, presented Pettine with a 32-point presentation on why he wanted to get out of his contract, sources said. It is not fun to be a Browns fan.
  24. Defensive line is the biggest team need (outside of QB obviously). They were dead last in stopping the run and Rubin will be gone (and should be as he's declined) and Taylor/Winn are too unreliable injury wise. I think they may end up going dline/oline with those first 2 picks (I don't sense drafting WRs high is in the GM's mindset).
