No one here really thinks Kobe's going to play much longer than next year. I could see him doing it, because, fuck, he's Kobe Bryant, but I could also see him coming back just to prove, to himself more than anything, that he could do it, then riding off into the sunset if the Lakers don't look to be on the verge of another title. He's not walking away from the big contract he signed. He's going to play 2 more years.

Bill Simmons basketball book has a whole section devoted to Russell vs Wilt and breaking down everything about the two (a great read). The perception that Wilt played with worse teams than Russell is simply not true. Wilt was simply obsessed with statistics (spending an entire season leading the league in assists just to do something different among other things) while Russell was obsessed with winning. It's not even an argument that Russell is superior. Wilt had the talent, but not the drive.

That's exactly what I think. Spurs win game one. Heat take game two. Spurs will win one of the three in Miami, and then the Heat finish it back in San Antonio. The finals format is actually 2-2-1-1-1 now....I expect the Heat to win games 2, 3, 4 and 6 ultimately (all 3 at home).

I think the Heat will win this one comfortably (despite the bad start), something like 7 or 8 points.

This series feels over now. Heat in 5 is a very realistic outcome, the Pacers really needed to win this one.

Kevin Love told Minnesota he will leave as a FA after next season, basically forcing Minnesota to trade him this summer. Chicago and Golden State are 2 teams he prefers while teams like the Lakers and Celtics will obviously make big runs at him as well. Houston and Phoenix are 2 sleepers to look out for with all the assets they have.

Logan Thomas is a very intriguing pick. Talent wise, I doubt there's a better QB in this draft, but he has been a complete mess in college with INTs and general inconsistency. He's a big project for Bruce Arians to fix, but if he does then Arizona just drafted their QB of the future. He could go either way.

They are fooling themselves if they think adding a rookie WR is going to drastically change their team next year. Even if he turns out to be what they expect (and I'm very skeptical of him), rookie WR's don't make huge impacts on a teams win-loss record historically, and they still lost their best defensive player (Byrd) and coordinator (Pettine). It's very possible they gave up another top 10 pick next year. It's going to entirely depend on EJ Manuel's development.

Community has been cancelled. I'd expect it to be shopped around to other places but six seasons and a movie isn't looking very likely now.

Another typical Browns pick...this franchise is doomed for however long they think Manziel can be a starter. Top 5 picks aplenty coming (as usual). Very depressing pick.

Detroit wanted Gilbert a lot too and were probably trying to jump the Browns from 10 to 8...only cost a 5th to secure your player, Browns have nailed this draft so far. Gotta get a QB with the second 1st now.
