  1. Just won a Triple Threat Match vs. the Highhogwarts Ice Troll and a motherfucking Dragon! I decided to go and try and fight the troll; eagerly ran up the mountain to where it lives...and then regretted it instantly when I saw the Dragon swooping in. The Dragon took the Trolls attention, so I just cast Flames at the Trolls back and some Dragon Breath finished it off. Me vs. The Dragon went on for ever, because my most effective spell barely hurt it; but I just wore it down bit by bit, kept casting 'Healing' on me and used lots of magicka potions. For the kill, I poisoned my Orkish Mace and twatted it in the face. Fun times.
  2. I missed the guardian stones as well! Gonna have to go back and try and find them. Main quest was just a bit of a chore. Spend ages climbing a bloody mountain to spend 5 minuets training to be told you have to go into ANOTHER dungeon at the other side of the continent. Don't blame me for not rushing off to do THAT one Bethesda. Also, how the cock are you supposed to beat the Ice Troll that you encounter half-way up High Thingymajig? I admit to luring it into a wider space on the path and then running past it. Anyway, next time on, I'm going to search for these Guardian stone, do some smithing and go and kill some random bandits and/or wildlife and this should tip me over to my next level up.
  3. Gotta say, the French Patriot music is pretty swish.
  4. Woo! Just brought my first house, in Whiterun And now comes earning money to furnish it! Anyway, two awesome things just happened in the space of about sixty seconds of me walking around some grasslands to the North - West of Whiterun. The first was more of a cool visual than a great bit of story: As I was approaching the crest of a hill, two wolves attacked me from the top of it. I killed one with my mace. The other wolf lept off the crest of the hill down towards me (over-shooting in fact to go over me) at the exact moment I used the Flame magic spell to set it on fire. The result - a Flaming Wolf leaping towards me! The angle of the camera (low downbehind me, wolf looking dominant from higher up the hill) made the moment look just so badass cool. In what way can a wolf me more intimidating? If it's on Fire! Then, I'd literally had the time to take the pelts off the wolves when I was attacked by a mystery assassin, who it turns out had been sent to kill me. Seems there is a bounty on my head, and I have no idea why. All in the space of a minute, tops. Quality stuff.
  5. So, I pressed thw wrong button and punched a guard. Rather than fight, or pay bounty I thought that since I'd only just saved, I'd reload. Which I did. Only, now my character has an arrow stuck into her right arm, which was not there before! Curious... Anyhow; my game's coming along. I've been levelling as a sort of single-handed fighter/mage hybrid (basically a fighter with a few spells to back it up, duel-wielding a mace and a spell ATM) and I'm enjoying it; but I'm already dreaming of being starting a 'pure' Mage. Fuck weapons and health, just spells and Magicka, or as close to that as you can manage and not just be cannon fodder in the early levels. Next time I have a huge chunk of time free at once, I think I'll start that; and continue the game I have now when I can in smaller pieces.
  6. If I've had to dump a load of stuff in a cave because I couldn't carry more, if I go back later is there a chance that it will all still be there? Not that it's too much for me to find out for myself, but I'm the the middle of another quest, so by the time I finish one of you guys might have answered I just did the quest where you become a companion, and I've just started the 'In my Time of Need' side quest. I accidentally stumbled across a Giant's farm earlier...and ran like fuck.
  7. I 'Won' my first fight with the Dragon (the one where you learn you're first Dragon shout) without actually getting a hit in. I got nowhere near the thing, since as I sold my bow.. Anyway, I just asked Lydia to follow me and she said, "It looks like you have someone with you." But I don't. Bug? Or is she just a lazy bitch? She's meant to be MY servant damnit! EDIT - Remembered I have a companions quest active with someone waiting for me somewhere. That might be the trouble. Just hit level 4 and seem to be blustering about into caves that are too high a level for me all time. Or, I just suck.
  8. I've just done the Bleak Falls Barrow section, and so can no buy my own house.... but only have about 1000 gold; so much saving is required. Damn shop-keeprs only offering you a half of what items are worth! After fighting off the Dragon (the next Main Quest), I'm gonna twat about on side-quests and randomly exploring for a while I think.
  9. I'm already stuck...at setting a character name! I'm being a woman. 'Cos I've never been one before. I need something suitably epic and awesome. I'm playing as a Nord; though I'm certainly starting a game as one of the reptile creatures at some point and pretending that I'm a Gorn. I'll call him Jason.
  10. So I caved and brought this earlier. I just want you to know that you're all complicit - possible exception of Summ aside. I'm about to get stuck in now.
  11. This. Between housemates, my own bloody work supervisor and EWB yammering on about Skyrim's awesomeness, my will to resist buying it until I have less on and a little more cash is getting weaker by the minute. DAMN YOU ALL.
  12. Really? Three names and one of them is Will? A Game of Thrones throws a LOT of names at you as it goes along and half of them are a little strange.
  13. I'm fairly sure they're mocking the GTA 100% completion thing. Unless they own Bernards Watch, and have actually been playing for years now in real time. EDIT - Nevermind.
  14. The video looked bloody nice, graphically and some of the editing features for universe mode look excellent. Still unsure about the seemingly random cut-scenes and run-ins, but if they have been toned-down, it'll be less of an issue than last year.
  15. Ha, I was just coming in here to ask about Murakami. I'm about 70 pages into Kafka on the Shore; and I'm largely enjoying it so far. I'm finding the dialogue to be slightly off kilter, and that's actually strangely endearing. On the whole, it is slow, yet addictive. Anyway, I was going to ask what was a good bet to read next, Murakami wise. Premise wise, South of the Border, West of the Sun sounds like something I really have to read, and I'm interested in Norwegian Wood.
  16. The day today is fucking excellent, and still is. There's just so much quoteable silliness, and Morris has the style of a 'Newsnight' type show down to a tee.
  17. So I have to transfer all 800+ files across one by one? Think I might wait until I'm REALLY bored. Though the PS3 warns me that if I copy edit data I might not be able to earn trohpies, which worries me somewhat.
  18. Aah, 999 was quality. I'll always remember the Dead Ringers jokes about it, "Hello and welcome to 999; You've Been Framed with first-aid advice." Used to totally fucking love Neighbours from the very late 1980's until I first moved house about two years ago. Then I got out of the habit of watching it and havne't watched a single minute since. Its strange: I don't miss it at all, yet I do have some very fond memories of it. My list would read: X-Men Animated Neighbours There were lots of other shows that I enjoyed, but those would be THE two shows from my youth before Star Trek:TNG came along.
  19. 1. A new puroresu game, ideally looking more like Smackdown and playing like Fire Pro (as opposed to the reverse). I'd settle for just an up-to-date New Japan game. 2. A 'proper' Doctor Who game (I.E full PS3/XBox game, not the online adventures or the video trading card stuffs). It could be divided up into 'episodes,' to provide a mesh of stories with an overall arc, and these could be sub-divided into small sections of puzzle solving, talking to people, looking for hints and clues, and probably a lot of running! There could be some sort of LA Noire style dialogue system too (but hopefully a better one!) for 'dynamic' discussions.
  20. Agreed, the 'episode' thing sounds pretty neat actually, and it'd be great if the game followed through on decisions you took having an impact. The only real changes I want to universe mode are matches you book actually counting (towards rankings) and being able to change who is in the MITB matches without the game then refusing to acknowledge the winner as having the MITB contract. If they've made those two changes, I'm happy.
  21. I'll do a Champions League with Bayern first, and then probably start a Master League with some team or other once there's a good option file (for kits and that) to download; and once I've unlocked the option to customise the starting structure of the league. I've never done Master League online, so it'll be offline for me as well. EDIT - Nope, condemmed to playing as Bayern forever. Two more games with no goals as other teams; switch back to Bayern and score twice. Though that game was made artifically hard by the game making sure that every loose ball went to the CPU and all the CPU's clearance's were also inch perfect passes to its strikers. I think I both love and hate PES this year!
  22. Ha, was coming on here to bitch that I'd had 3 0-0's in a row despite having 20+ shots on goal in each game; and then scored twice in the first 15 minutes of a match. All I needed was Mario Gomez. Still, overall, actually scoring seems to be a rare thing indeed. EDIT: 4-1!!! Though now I'm scared to play as a team that aren't Bayern...
  23. I just thought.... Brock vs. Vader. Hell yes
  24. You want to play as an Elcore and you know it.
