That is a WEIRD line-up for Man Utd. Valencia has been an able deputy for right-back but is far from a natural there, I've yet to be impressed by Evans, and Evra has been a little dodgy in recent weeks. Add to the fact that Carrick is in defence and this could be a very interesting game. Especially with Rooney and Welbeck rested, Young and Jones injured. Very pleased to see Park getting some match time. Is Smalling injured, rested or dropped BTW?

I've not watched as much live football as I might this year, so I can't think of much beyond Man Utd 8-2 Arsenal just for the sheer incredibility of the score-line; and the Newcastle 4-4 Arsenal, for the come-back in the second half and for Barton almost stealing it in the last minute. To pick a game from another sport, this seasons' NFL opener between the Packers and the Saints for getting me into the NFL - Taking me from a (very) passing interest in the sport to being a 'proper fan.' A very, very entertaing game. Also, the Lions coming back from 27-3 down to beat the Cowboys.

It was fairly dull, somewhat obscurely paced and structured; and with nowhere near enough Bill Bailey, but the end was sweet and made me beam uncontrollably, to the point where I might almost forgive it entirely.

I just downloaded the superb looking Hallowicked, Frightmare and UMB CAWS. They're way over-powered, stats wise, but I know I'm gonna have a lot of fun with them. I also downloaded CAWS for Shinsuke Nakamura and Tetsuya Naito, but they're VERY annoyingly locked for editing. It's especially annoying in the case of Naito, who has been given hideous looking hair and a strange selection of finishing moves (but the detail on his tights look superb and he hasn't been over-statted.) I think I can live with the Nakamura one, although I wouldn't mind changing the odd move. Basically, server seems about fine now. I got booted out once, but got right back in again.

Ditto, until very very recently when I switched to a silver sword that I made for myself. Though being a werewolf you'd have thought that I wouldn't like Silver so much. I've got a little short-list of things that I want to do with my current character before I FINALLY start my mage character, but I also know that this is Skyrim and the list of things that I'll want to do will just grow and grow and grow.

So, in Winterhelm there's blatantly going to be a quest where you investigate the serial-killer that everyone keeps talking about. How do you actually trigger the quest? I've talked to the Yarl and his associates, the bar-staff and folk in the bar, just about everyone I remember passing in the street (though I can't guarantee that I've spoken to everyone), and I've wandered around aimlessly hoping that an event might be triggered based on how long I spend in Windhelm in one go. Most of that was over night too, because the killer pounces at night and I thought I might have a random chance of catching someone in the act.

After the first draft match, John Morrison was drafted to Smackdown. After the second draft match he was drafted back to Raw! I do like how random shit in universe mode gets you to come up with storylines in your head to explain everything, and how you get involved in the strangest of things. I haven't given much of a toss about the World Heavyweight Championship title scene for instance, but I'm really into a Heath Slater/Yoshi Tatsu Superstars feud. Am also sick of Airboom vs. Road Warriors or Demolition at every PPV. Seriously thinking of breaking those two teams up, and then populating the tag team ranks with random teams I make up myself.

And rightly so! To paraphrase Nick Hornby: Sometimes you have to be judged by your one offs in much the same way that Lee Harvey Oswald can't really claim that killing presidents isn't like him at all.

It's the night after Elimination Chamber; but it's a confusing mess. There will be a special match, you have the option of watching the match as the Royal Rumble winner. Only, both guys in the match will keep trying to attack you for no good reason, and whoever loses seems to be the guy you end up facing. Only sometimes, the two guys in the special match aren't even the Champions to begin with, and I have no sodding clue what happens then. It seems to be quite badly coded.

My Universe mode just decided that the WWE Championship match at Wrestlemania should be between Royal Rumble winner R-Truth, who is not the WWE Champion, and CM Punk, who is also NOT the WWE Champion... Anyway, I corrected it and had Miz retain the WWE Championship against Truth. Cole in the match "If R-Truth picks up the win here, he's got to be in contention for the WWE Championship." No shit, Sherlock. Anyway, after the match, Swagger comes out and celebrates with Miz. Cole says "They've travelled the world together and share a heart-felt embrace now that they are both world champions." Jack Swagger is not a World Champion. Nice to see that they've got Cole's commentary to be realistically inaccurate >_>

Has anyone else's universe mode stopped playing entrance cut-scenes for matches? Mine just keeps skiping to the start of the match where you select who you want to control. Never remember turning entrances off. Anyway, just had a tremendous finish to a match, which caused me to mark out a little even though I lost. It was at Elimination Chamber, and I was playing as Punk to try and defend the WWE Championship through the match and go to Mania as Champion. Match was Punk vs. Del Rio vs. Miz vs. Morrison vs. Truth vs. Mysterio. Anyway, I'm forced to start (with Jo-Mo), and get a bit battered; though I manage to eliminate Jo-Mo and Truth and I do work over Mysterio a lot before Miz eliminates him. So, it's down to Me vs. Del Rio vs. Miz, and I'm busted open, but have a stored finisher. And this is the exact finish of the match: Del Rio picks me up and goes for a running clothesline, but I counter into a leverage-pin style small-package and eliminate Del Rio. I know I'm fucked and can't mess around, so the second I stand up from pinning Del Rio and see that Miz is stood next to me, I press triangle for the GTS - only Miz shoves me away, and instantly hits the Skull Crushing Finale FTW It all flowed so well and so smoothly it looked awesome; and I can totally buy Miz biding his time, sneaking up on the Champion and getting one counter spot-on to win the title. And now, Miz has to defend the title at Wrestlemania against Royal Rumble winner R-Truth; which after the end of the real RAW this week, seems nicely apt.

Holy fuck RIP Gary Speed. Great professional, and had potential as a manager. Sad indeed.

You can bloody someone up in regular matches, but you need to turn blood 'on' in the options menu first. As for the other question, I haven't found a way to vacate titles in Universe mode; but I hope that there is a way to do it.

I thought the same the other day when a random guy started to talk to me at the bus stop and I was expecting him to give me a quest.

He's DLC. 59p IIRC; or free if you have Fan Access. Almost the exact same happened to me, except Orton was on commentary, and it was Barrett cheap-shotting Zeke with the WHC at the end of the match. Very, very strange. Had a fun match as retro Edge and Christian vs. HBK and Rock at Wrestlemania. Generally did well, then Rock used an ability to get a finisher; hit Edge with the Rock Bottom and had me beat..only for Christian to make the save at 2.999. Ended up Spearing Rocky for the win. And I universe mode, R-Truth won the rumble.... Final 4 of Truth, Swagger, HHH and Brock, who had been in from about number 8 and was a beast, until Truth and Swagger teamed up to eliminate him. Came down to those two, Swagger hit 2 Gut-wrench powerbombs on Truth but didn't try and eliminate him, and eventually lost.

I can't even get onto Community Creations. I keep getting the 'What's Hot' ad at the bottom of the title scree; but then get told that the servers are currently down. Somewhat annoying.

How do you select a competitor in the Rumble match again? I let it start without selecting anyone; can you still jump in and pick someone? Anyway, best WWE game in years so far. More thoughts to come, but I'm enjoying this a fair bit so far.

Have you been to see the Greybeards yet? I believe that doing the mission to answer their summons 'unlocks' the random Dragon attacks. If you have, then I dunno what to suggest. EDIT - This was obviously a response to Kaney.
