  1. Definitely, if Carlisle takes the Pacers to the finals, then that will look really bad on Dumars part.
  2. Both are very good, and I'd recommend either one. Jello's are alot more political, but funny, and Henry's are usually funnier. He tells alot of great stories of bands he's opened for, and stuff like that.
  3. I agree on all counts, as much as I love Joe Dumars, I think he made a big mistake in firing Rick Carlisle. Larry Brown may be a "winning coach", but that means shit if he can't win the big one. I agree, why the hell were Cambell and Mehmet not playing during overtime? We should have been going down low, instead of having Lindsey Hunter missing wide open three's, and Billups driving out of control to the hole. I swear, Brown needs to get over the whole "Mehmet needs to mature..blah blah blah" bullshit. By the way, I remember a game I was at last year against Cleveland, and we should have lost but Billups sent the game into OT with a three. The crowd was absolutely fucking wild, and then Corliss hit the game winning shot in OT and the crowd went even wilder. It's too bad these guys aren't consistent, you either get a great game or shitty game from Billups it seems.
  4. Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers, L.A.M.F. - Johnny and Jerry's first album after breaking away from the New York Dolls. When I think of rock, this is the album I believe personifies it. Songs to check out: Born to Lose, I wanna be Loved, Chinese Rocks, It's Not Enough Richard Hell and the Voidoids, Blank Generation - Richard Hell was an incredible song writer, and add to the fact he had a great band behind him in the Voidoids. It should also be noted that drummer Marc Bell would later become Marky Ramone, of the Ramones obviously. Liars Beware, Rock and Roll Club, Blank Generation, I'm your man The Germs, M.I.A. - Not many could match Darby Crash's animal-like growl. When you listen to the Germs, they assault your ears, and you love every minute of it. A song like "Caught in my Eye" makes you feel as if you really do have something caught in your eye, thanks to Darby's vicious sound. Communist Eyes, Caught in my eye, Land of Treason, Lexicon Devil The Adolescents, Self titled - An underrated group in the grand scheme of punk rock. Rikk Agnew was a fantastic guitar player, one who is over overlooked when great guitar players are talked about. This is a fast album, and should always be played loud. Kids of the Blackhole, Wrecking Crew, Word Attack, Creatures I feel like I could go and on with this, but I'll just limit myself to four.
  5. I was also getting sick of seeing Chauncey driving into the lane out of control, throwing the ball away. Or when we had a chance to win it in the second over-time I believe, the moron wastes clock behind the three point line, then he throws up a wild ass shot trying to draw a foul. We simply needed a basket, why were we not going down low in that situation? Too Chauncey's credit though, he was the only keeping us in the game, unfortunately he can't carry a team on his back like a superstar. I'm also begining to think that not re-signing Rasheed this off-season will not make a difference. He's another good player on our team, but that's all we have other than Ben Wallace. We have a group of guys averaging around 15-18 points a game. We need a superstar on this, and Rasheed just isn't what we need. I think we need to begin riding Mehmet Okur, who has the same skill as Rasheed, but needs to season it a bit more. I believe that we need to go out and get a big-time scorer this off-season, even if it means losing Rip or Chauncey. Ben Wallace is the only player I'd say is untouchable on this team. By the way Jook, it was Detroit vs. Milwaukee you saw.
  6. Hate to agree, but I agree. Simply put, the Pistons don't have somebody that can hit a consistent jumper. Sure, Hamilton and Billups can score, but they are streaky. The whole damn team is streaky, we either win 14 straight, or lose 14 straight. This off-season we need to get a guy like Vinnie Johnson, somebody who can come off the bench and instantly hit his shots. The Microwave days were gold, with Isiah and Dumars...ah man.
  7. No doubt about it. If you like Frank Zappa, then check out Black Randy and the Metrosquad. Very similar to Zappa, except that they were part of the west coast punk scene, playing at the Masque and such. I'd also like to recommend MC5, the Stooges, the Sonics, the Monks, Link Wray and his Wraymen, The Ventures, and the New York Dolls. Some rock and roll that covers the 50s, 60s, and 70s for you.
  8. That's not entirely true. Sure, the Spurs backs could very well be broken, but don't count out a good team. Remember last year, Orlando vs. Detroit in the first round. Orlando goes up 3-1 on Detroit, Detroit then wins three straight, when they should have been done. This includes a heart breaking loss at home, and then Orlando outclassing Detroit in Orlando. It's definitely a horrible loss for SA, but I still think they can win this series.

    The Strokes

I don't enjoy the Strokes. Bands like them have come a dime a dozen with this whole garage revival. Personally, none of these bands have shown me that they deserve this kind of success. I suggest everybody check out the Mummies, for some truely great B-Horror movie garage rock.
  10. Anthrax is pretty god damn good. They played some great thrash-metal, and will remain one of my favorite metal bands of all-time. I'm also surprised to hear about this video on MTV, does Anthrax fit into today's music?
