  1. Despite what some may think, many of the bands I like do write beautiful songs. All Lies - Nomeansno It's Not Enough - Johnny Thunders Here Comes the Sun - The Beatles Space Oddity - David Bowie Watching the Detectives - Elvis Costello Venus - Television Hey Little Girl - The Dead Boys (This song is a cover, I'm not sure who does the original) What do I get? - Buzzcocks Sound of the Rain - The Dils Gut Rage - Feederz I luv I Jah - Bad Brains History Lesson, Pt. 2 - Minutemen Never talking to you again - Husker Du Liquor, Beer & Wine - Reverend Horton Heat
  2. Manson has a LONG way to go before he'll even be close to G.G. Allin. He needs to eat his own shit, drink womens piss, do a few shows in the nude (exposing his miniscule cock from the heroin he shot into it), and just act ultra-violent in general. Heh, I have alot of good stories of G.G., and I've seen some funny footage of him. As for Manson, he's not a favorite of mine. I thought Anti-Christ Superstar and Mechanical Animals had a few good tracks, but nothing that stood out. Cloudy on the other hand, has been trying to push Manson on me, good luck
  3. Some good "rock" bands and songs.. Feederz - Destruction Unit, Burn Warehouse Burn, Stayfree X- Beyond and Back, Nausea, We're Desperate Reagan Youth - Jesus was a communist, Heavy Metal Shuffle, Urban Savages Battalion of Saints - My Minds Disease, Hell's around the next corner, Fighting Boys Husker Du - Something I learned today, Girl who lives on heaven hill, Pink Turns to Blue Nomeansno - Madness and Death, Rags and Bones, Obsessed A few different bands, but all excellent. Feederz would be a good fit on your CD alongside Dead Kennedys.
  4. That's a pretty good cd if you want mostly their better known songs. Some other good songs from the Doors are Take it as it comes, Wintertime Love, Love Street, I looked at you, and We could be so good together. You can't really go wrong with The Doors.
  5. I don't know if there is an actual story behind it, I always figured that System of a Down were simply covering the song. It is definitely a cool song though... I did have a question of my own about Wu Tang, so I figured I'd leave it in this thread. There is a song title I'm looking for by them, and all I know about the song is that there is a part where two members are talking about various ways of torturing people. One of them says something like "I'm gonna sew your asshole up and keep FEEDING YOU AND FEEDING YOU AND FEEDING YOU!" and the other fellow says something along the lines of "I wanna nail your nuts to a piece of wood, and BEATS THAT SHITS WITH A SPIKED BAT...BLAAAAAAAAH!!!". Thanks for any help that is provided.
  6. Pro Football Reference Pro Basketball Reference I absolutely love these two sites, they'll have everything you need to know about stats, players, teams, and yes team's that have changed cities. These sites are fun to browse if your bored, and feel like checking the stats of any player in the NFL or NBA that ever played. Well, the NFL reference site only goes back to the 1950's, but eventually it'll be completed.
  7. Les Claypool goes without saying but some other greats are: Mike Watt - Fantastic bass player of the Minutemen and fIREHOSE (name is spelled like that, so no my caps lock didn't get stuck) Rob Wright - Fans of Les Claypool and Mike Patton's projects would like Wright's groups Nomeansno and the Hanson Brothers (and no not the teenie bopper Hanson) Steve Soto - One of the better bass players from the Orange County punk scene in the early 1980s. Better known for his work with the Adolescents and Agent Orange.
  8. You could call him the "Urban Guerilla" or "Urban Savage" Johnny Harrison. Both of those are songs from the punk bands Chaos UK and Reagan Youth respectively. Other suggestions range from the "One Man Riot", "The Bottom Feeder", "Agnostic Superstar", and "Mr. D.I.Y." (DIY means Do it yourself, an old punk slogan). The last few nicknames I just kind of threw together, so take them for a grain of salt if you wish.
  9. Looking for something funky? Check out the group in my avatar, Black Randy and the Metrosquad, complete excellence. Also look into the Offs, good fusion of reggae, ska, and punk.
  10. Paranoid is definitely their hit, even bigger than Iron Man. My personal favorite songs are Sweet Leaf, Electric Funeral, and Rat Salad. To be honest, you can't go wrong with Black Sabbath.
  11. I have to agree, in reality, the Pistons would only be missing Memo and Darko, and neither were too significant during the playoffs anyway. Although another thing to consider is that Rip Hamilton and Ben Wallace were both offered spots on the U.S. team, but both declined. Those two could have made a big difference on the current team had they accepted. Michael Redd and Chauncey Billups should have been invited for their three point game. Speaking of the Pistons, did Carlos Delfino play well against Team USA? Delfino's joining the Pistons this year, and is expected to be a key part of our bench this season.
  12. Same here, Brock just comes in and F-5's Bradshaw right out of the ring. I'd be happy to see Brock back in WWE. As for Brock's brief NFL stint, good for him. He said he was going to try out for an NFL team, and he did. Despite the fact that he didn't make it, you still have to give him respect for giving it 100%, and earning respect from his teammates and coaches. Hell, I think a stint in the Arena League would be pretty bad ass for Brock. Imagine Lesnar slamming some mother fucker against the walls (no out of bounds in Arena League).
  13. 1. Repo Man - (with Iggy Pop) 2. T. V. Party - (with Black Flag) 3. Institutionalized - (with Suicidal Tendencies) 4. Coup D'Etat - (with Circle Jerks) 5. El Clavo Y La Cruz - (with The Plugz) 6. Pablo Picasso - (with Burning Sensations) 7. Let's Have A War - (with Fear) 8. When The Shit Hits The Fan - (with Circle Jerks) 9. Hombre Secreto (Secret Agent Man) - (with The Plugz) 10. Bad Man - (with Juicy Bananas) 11. Reel Ten - (with The Plugz) Great Movie, Great Soundtrack.
  14. I'm not real keen on rap, but I do have a few rock and roll songs for your listening pleasure. Husker Du - Pink Turns to Blue, Girl Who Lives on Heaven Hell Nomeansno - Brainless Wonder, Obsessed, Our Town Minutemen - Shit from an old notebook, Vietnam, Nature without man, Jesus and Tequila The Adolescents - Creatures, Kids of the Blackhole, L.A. Girl Unsane - Smells like rain, Sick, Bodybomb, Hazmat Angelic Upstarts - Young Punk, Victory in Poland, Leave me alone, Two Million Voices UK Subs - Kicks, B.I.C., Stranglehold, New York State Police There's a few, check them out or suck.
  15. Like most above, this is also in no particular order... Taxi Driver Trainspotting A Clockwork Orange Romper Stomper Sid and Nancy The Incident Suburbia Raging Bull American Psycho Dog Day Afternoon
  16. The band originally started with Joey Ramone as the drummer, however after playing shows he switched with Tommy Ramone. Tommy Ramone left the band in 1977 (so anything recorded before then is him playing). but he did help produce many albums afterward. Tommy Ramone was replaced by Marc Bell (of Richard Hell and the Voidoids). Marky Ramone left the band in 1983, after "Subterranean Jungle" was released, and replaced by Richie Ramone. Richie Ramone then left the band in 1987, and was replaced by the returning Mark Ramone. Tommy Ramone - 1974-1977 Marky Ramone - 1977-1983, 1987- Richie Ramone - 1983-1987. That should help you figure out who exactly played the drums in each song you requested.
  17. Like I said before, We're Only Gonna Die is a good song, so I imagine whatever album that is on is a fairly good one. The footage of them I have is also very good, and it's their earlier stuff as well. To the best of my knowledge, I would say that you should stick with early Bad Religion. As many of us know, most bands earlier shit is almost always better than their later shit.
  18. There's a shit load of good ones.. The Weirdos, The Lewd, The Dictators, Crucifucks, Last Resort, The Cramps, M.D.C (Millions of Dead Cops), and D.R.I. (Dirty Rotten Imbeciles) to name a few.
  19. Bad news for Detroit Lions fans concerning Boss Bailey... Credit to Espn.com for that information... This is bad news for Detroit, the linebacking corp was young enough with him, and now without him either Alex Lewis or James "Dirty" Davis will have to start much of the season. Keep in mind Lewis is a 5th round pick this year, and Davis is also a fifth round pick, but he is a second year player. I do think that "Dirty" Davis is capable of filling in for Boss, for the time being, he's shown some skill when he's on the field.
  20. Superman (DC) (It's fucking Superman) Deadpool (Marvel) (Sorry Batman, Deadpool is the shit) The Punisher (Marvel) (The Punisher's comics were always the most entertaining to me, especially the Jigsaw series) Green Lantern (DC) (I don't know much about either...but Green Lantern sounds better here) Electro (Marvel) (This fucker will zap your ass) Phoenix (Marvel) (Remember the Phoenix saga? She gave the X-Men a few headaches) Spider-Man (Marvel) (Not so invincible when you face Spiderman, bitch) Venom (Marvel) (Venom's long tounge will own anybody) Aqua Man (DC) (Aqua Man, because I don't shit about either of these two) Where is Ghost Rider? Anybody who's head is a flaming skull couldn't possibly suck.
  21. For any Detroit or Pittsburgh fans, you can catch this game on Saturday at 7:30. My guess is that it wont be nationally televised, but people in the surrounding area's may get access to it. I'm really excited to see what kind of team Detroit will have this year. I want to see Joey Harrington's progression, and also see what Kevin Jones, Roy Williams, and Teddy Lehman are made of. Hell, one of my favorite parts of the pre-season is predicting which undrafted rookie will make the team. Detroit usually has atleast one or two a year make the squad. Last year it was Casey Fitzsimmons.
  22. I was also going to say Bill Ward. In my opinion, he was phenomenal, especially in the song "Rat Salad", I fucking love the drum solo he plays in that song. Also, how about a little love for Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa? A pair of excellent Jazz drummers. Casey Royer of the Adolescents (and lead singer of D.I. for the record) is another favorite of mine, he could play. Marc Bell aka Marky Ramone from Richard Hell and the Voidoids and The Ramones is another favorite of mine. He claimed to have played with his "fingers and wrists" while many other drummers in the punk scene played with their "shoulders and arms". I'm not a drummer so I'm not sure exactly what he was getting at with that.
  23. The problem is that Ellis hasn't been productive since 1999, and I doubt much is going to change going into this year. As for Bert Berry, he is a DE, not a DT, so Ellis isn't going to be racking up sacks like Mr. Berry. Don't expect much from Luther, other than a great veteran to have on the team.
  24. Luther Ellis is old and broken down, he will not make much of an impact this season. He provides nice depth, but he is injury prone and past his prime.
  25. Personally I'll say that Stevie Ray Vaughn is the best guitar player I have ever heard in my life. I'll also give alot of credit to Link Wray, simply because of his huge influence on the electric guitar, and for the fact he inspired so many people to pick up the guitar. An honorable mention also goes to Ross the Boss of the Dictators, he's a fantastic guitar player. Some of my favorites however are... Johnny Thunders, Dr. Know of Bad Brains, Cheetah Chrome of the Dead Boys, Sickie Wifebeater of the Mentors, and Rikk Agnew of the Adolescents/D.I./Early Social Distortion.
