  1. In all fairness to Ben, I don't think his mind is completely on basketball right now. He did miss a few games this year already, because of the death of his other brother. His mind could be in other places, the death of a loved one is a huge stressor, and perhaps caused Ben to vent his frustrations in the wrong way. I also wouldn't say Ben Wallace is a pussy either...
  2. Wow what did I miss? All this talk of fights, and near riots in the Palace, a place I have enjoyed many Pistons games. Our fans aren't 100% disgraceful. That was not every one of the Pistons fans throwing trash at the Pacers, only a few of many. Not enough to call all of us disgraceful. A small group (when compares to the thousands of Pistons fans in Michigan and beyond) should never be considered a representation of how all of our fans act. I did not see what happened, so I'm stuck with everybody's own descriptions of the altercation. Either way, I hate Ron Artest, always have, always will. Edit - and after reading this from espn.com Throwing punches as he climbed over seats? So he was hit by the beer, and flew into the stands throwing wild punches at anybody that got in his way? Yeah....Artest sure handled that well. One more edit.... It sounds like Ben Wallace was pretty fucking frustrated tonight. Wallace should not have pursued Artest after the foul, he should have taken his hard foul and shot his free throws. Yeah, he may be pissed, but forget it, and play the game. Nothing good can ever come from attacking another player. It seems the Pistons are having problems losing their cool lately. Remember the first game of the season and Antonio McDyess?
  3. Ugh, I just realized that the Colts are coming to Detroit for Thanksgiving. Now a nationally televised audience can watch Peyton dismantle Detroit. :pinch:
  4. Right now, the Pistons are down by 13 to the Utah Jazz. Things look bleak, but there is still time left. The point is, if they lose tonight and drop to 3-3, I'm still not going to fret. I think Larry Brown's absence is being felt right now, as is Ben Wallace's. If the Pistons continue to falter with Brown, then the red flags can go up.
  5. I didn't realize she had any punk cred in the first place. In my humble opinion, most covers do not equal the original. There are exceptions, but not too many. Nomeansno does a good job with "Manic Depression" and "Beat on the Brat" albeit adding their own little flavor to each song. About the Misfits album, what time periods do they cover? Is it a wide range of Misfits stuff, or mostly older, or newer stuff?
  6. I was trying to pick up a hooker on a BMX ( ), and when I rang my bell (instead of the horn), I somehow wound up stuck inside a building. It was odd, I was in the building but I could still see everything on the streets, but I was trapped inside by some sort of invisible force field.
  7. It's an excellent compilation of Dick Dale's work. It's an album I'd recommend to anybody interested in surf rock. If you like the song Miserlou, then you will like anything by Dick Dale.
  8. Last week during my break at work, I went and picked up the best of Dick Dale and the Deltones. Before that I purchased the Cockney Rejects first two albums, Greatest Hits Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. I do the same, I know a fellow in St. Louis that I trade cd's with.
  9. There is no need for Pistons fans to panic, despite a loss to the Raptors. Putting up 100 on the Pistons is very impressive to say the least, so much credit to them. They are only the second team in the last 50 some odd games to do that (the other being NJ in the Triple over-time playoff game). The Pistons managed to bounce back and beat the Sixers convincingly (the game was not as close as the score indicated). I think once the Pistons bench begins to click, they'll see a significant increase in points, and could become a potent offense. One thing to keep note of right now is that Larry Brown has been in the hospital the last few days due to hip replacement surgery. What kind of bobblehead did they pass out? And for the record, I love the Palace, every seat in the house is great.
  10. Wow, if there is one thing I could give the Detroit Lions right now, it would be a bit of consistency. Be it in the Quarterback, the WR's, the defense, the coaching, or the offensive line. Everybody looked terrible against Washington, minus a pretty strong showing from the defense (but let's not forget how we were humiliated by Dallas last week, that's where the consistency comes in to play). I'm really not very high on our coaching staff right now, their is a lack of imagination in the play calling on both sides of the field. Steve Marriucci calls some of the most one dimensional, vanilla offensive plays I have ever seen. Dick Jauron, the Defensive Coordinator does not seem to understand that our pass rush is so much more effective when we blitz. There's a saying in my house when the Lions make a play due to a blitz, it usually starts with "Hey, why don't we blitz more often?" which is replied to with "Because it works".
  11. I played this game for the first time today and I was not impressed. There were very few features that really interested me, nothing to compel me to buy this game though. The graphics really are not that much better than HCTP, not good enough to warrant a positive rating for this game. They took so many steps backward with this edition, and really subtracted alot more than they added.
  12. X is a great band with a female vocalist. Exene Cervenka and Joe Doe used to share the mic on stage. Exene was great, and had funny stuff to say in interviews. One of my personal favorites is Blondie, they gained their notoriety playing at CBGB's with bands like the Dead Boys and the Ramones. The group was always mostly a new wave group however. Deborah Harry, the lead singer, was incredibly hot. The Alice Bag Band was focused around Alice Bag, the lead singer. They never gained a whole lot of fame or really released any full length albums, but their material isn't completely scarce these days. If you can ever get ahold of anything by them (be it vinyl, or a copy of the Decline of Western Civilization, or it's soundtrack) then give it a whirl. Crass is another group, like X that featured multiple lead singers, one being male, one being female.
  13. That movie is excellent. It's a true story about his character Jim Caroll. As far as I know, the real Jim Carrol is still alive and still writes. I think I've even heard he used to sell heroin with Dee Dee Ramone.
  14. Suck My Ass, it Smells - G.G. Allin I wanna fuck myself - G.G. Allin Good Masterbations - The Mentors Lowrider - Flipper Ha Ha Ha - Flipper
  15. Nothing like seeing some Detroit Basketball in person. The Pistons game tonight was great. They had a nice little ceremony where the team recieved their championship rings, and the championship banners were raised. The crowd really ate up the whole event, and the entire game. The starting five looked great tonight, and the bench did their part with tight defense. Basically, they looked like the typical Pistons of last year, but even sharper as the game wore on. Although, McDyess's ejection was a bonehead play on his part. Yao and T-Mac got the Kobe and Shaq treatment. Edit - I also wanted to mention that when the players accepted their rings, they were all wearing replica's of the World Championship on Raw. Apparently it was Sheed's idea, and he had them all made with the players nicknames on them.
  16. Check out Iggy and the Stooges if you haven't already, all three albums they put out were great. Songs: Your pretty face is going to hell (turn this one up really loud), Penetration, Raw Power, I wanna be your dog, No Fun, T.V. Eye, and L.A. Blues. The Cramps, a band who originated in the late 1970s, still tour and record at this present time. They had a mixture of surf, rockabilly, and garage thrown in for a great sound. Songs: The Way I Walk, Sheena's in a goth gang, The Crusher, The Native's are restless, Domino, Can your pussy do the dog?, and Uranium Rock. Although the quality is a little rough, Crime is a great group to check out, very dirty sounding rock and roll. Hotwire My Heart, Crime Wave, Samurai, Dillinger's Brain, and Baby You're so repulsive. The Dictators, a group that were a big influence on the Ramones, also showcased Ross the Boss, a great guitar player. Songs (Dictators): Science Gone Too Far, Faster and Louder, Minnesota Strip, and Borneo Jimmy. UK Subs are very good, another group that recorded through the 70s and 80s, and still perform live on occasion. Songs: Stranglehold, B.I.C., Teenage, New York State Police, and AK-47
  17. That's exactly why I'm thinking of getting an X-Box. The only games exclusive to PS2 that I enjoy are the GTA series (which really isn't exclusive, just comes out earlier), Manhunt, the Smackdown series, and Metal Gear Solid (which also found it's way to X-Box). Alot of people knock the size of the X-Box controller, but I like it alot. The L and R triggers are better positioned then on the PS2 controller. ← God the level of idiocy on this board hurts my brain ← Hey, what can I do if enjpy the L and R triggers better on the X-Box? It may sound silly, but it's the truth. Besides, the fact that both my PS2 controllers are missing a right analog stick has a bit to do with the bias.

  19. I'd probably have to go with Playstation 2, considering it's the only console I've owned since my PS1. The Nintendo consoles don't make games that appeal to me, alot of them are kind of cartoony. I have been considering getting an X-Box lately, because my PS2 is possibly on it's last legs, and I like the feature of putting my cd's onto my X-Box. The only thing stopping me is money and the fact that I haven't played video games in awhile.
  20. I can't believe I forgot this movie, I have it on disc and didn't even remember to mention it. This movie is definitely a classic, Kurt Russel's best role. "Snake Pliskin? I thought you were dead."
  21. If you're talking about a college football movie, then I have seen it multiple times. There are so many good/bad choices, I'd go with P.O.W. the Escape, American Ninja 2, and Suburbia.
  22. I was a huge fan of Rage Against the Machine, The Doors, Smashing Pumpkins, and Jimi Hendrix in 1998. I remember alot of the hits of that time, I'd always watch an early morning MTV music video show before school. I forget the name of it, but they'd call the rock videos "Buzz Clips". The problem is, 1998 could not have been a good year for me in the music department. It obviously didn't leave an impact on me, if in 1999 I stopped watching MTV, and listening to the radio completely. None of it appealed to me, so I found different music through reading, and a few suggestions.
  23. Raw, primitive, snotty 1. Nomeansno 2. Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers 3. Dead Kennedys 4. Feederz 5. Reagan Youth
  24. Just when you thought the Lions were deflated, they come out of NY with a big win. Joey Harrington showed great maturity by rebounding from a terrible game last week. This was definitely his best performance of the season, and I hope he can continue playing at this level. The defensive line simply abused Kurt Warner all day, registering six sacks. Kevin Jones and Roy Williams also added touch downs, and my belief is both are going to continue to get better as the season wears on. I think Detroit may just have a shot at the Wildcard spot in the playoffs this year.
  25. I'll call for a Pistons repeat this year. As good as the Pistons were last year, they've gotten even better this year. With the additions of Carlos Delfino, and Antonio McDyess, we have greatly improved our bench. Add a healthy Derrick Coleman, and you have insane depth at the big man spots. I also have reason to believe that guys like Chauncey Billups, Rip Hamilton, and Tayshaun Prince will improve their scoring output this year, as all three are still fairly young. As a sidenote, I will be attending the Detroit Pistons home opener, when they raise the championship banner. I'll report back here after the game, and talk a bit about the glory of banner raising.
