  1. Such a weird passage of play. Diop letting it run was stupid, but it also looks like any contact is initiated by Nunez. See why it has been given, but I can also see why there's a lot of debate about Nunez diving.
  2. I had similar things with Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Got to parts where I found the enemies too difficult, forgetting that I had a)not upgraded my weapons with new chips I had found, b)ignored better chips available at shops, and c) not put new, better cores to give me better stats, buffs, etc. Unsurprisingly, when I powered my characters up, these battles became less of an issue.
  3. So I gather. I did a little bit of general digging after watching it last night, but didn't read up what the actual ending was supposed to be?
  4. Watched 'The Magnificent Ambersons' last night. A really good film, if a little underwhelming in terms of the ending. However, the opening twenty or so minutes or so that pretty much set up the rest of the story is excellent - you get this sweeping summary of a family and their legacy, with quite a few moving parts but little wasted motion in setting up the main character in particular.
  5. I watched Onibaba earlier this year and absolutely loved it. Easy film to watch, very engaging and dark in tone. I'm trying to watch more films (classics especially), so watched 'Cleo de 5 a 7', which was good but wasn't necessarily a film that I'd place as highly as some do. I think maybe it was one of those films that was particularly novel at the time and I perhaps don't have the context to understand it at that level. Not as classic, but I also watched 'Dogtooth' and 'Fat Girl/A ma souer' - both really good, dark films to watch. Dogtooth in particular was excellent, if deranged.
  6. I use YouTube videos to help with regards to tips or strategies on parts that I get stuck on. Usually seems to work.
  7. Which of FF 1-6 are still worth playing if you have no nostalgia for them? I'm assuming 6 but any others?
  8. I finally completed a game! And it was Xenoblade Chronicles 2! ...however, for some reason I had to skip over a few cutscenes in the mid-game, meaning I then got so confused as to what was going on that I basically skipped all of the other cutscenes. Sped up my playthrough I guess, but does mean I have no idea what happened in the game... Speaks volumes that the progression side of the game was able to carry me through 20+ hours or so. The combat system is very complex, but once it clicks, it is fun.
  9. We've been so awful recently, so to lose at home (and at a place where, outside of the last win, we'd lost some ridiculous number of times) speaks really poorly of Everton. However, I'm still hoping Nottingham go down as that would be the funniest of all of the outcomes.
  10. Anytime I talk about this, I have to be very aware that the aftermath of the Mitrovic thing wasn't acceptable in any fashion. However, the reaction from Mitrovic came from the red card he got for grabbing the referee by the arm. Robertson did basically the same to the linesman. The main difference is that the linesman then shrugged off Robertson, hitting him with an elbow. Since Mitrovic at very basic levels got sent off for grabbing an official by the arm, Robertson should at least be punished for that. The wider scope of his is less bad, but it is just really poor timing and looks even worse due to how stupid the whole Mitro thing has played out alongside the Fernandes thing. EDIT: I'll also add that the linesman throwing out his arm is the best thing that could have happened to Robertson as it has meant the discourse is all about the lino being punished it seems.
  11. So Robertson grabbed the linesman by the arm as he walked past and he gets no comeuppance? What a crock of shit.
  12. That's the problem ultimately. The moment they ignored Fernandes and went full blown at Mitrovic, they fucked everything going forward.
  13. Mitrovic got 3 for the card, 3 for the nature of the red (grabbing an official) and 2 for language. So you could argue at least a 6 game ban would be fair (a retrospective red as it could/should have been, plus 3 for the nature of the incident), but he'll get fuck all. I also appreciate that it will be perceived differently by different sets of fans, but Mitro's OTT reaction was largely following the red, a red card that hasn't come in any other altercations this year where players have laid their hands on the official. I'm not someone who looks to claim that the big teams and little teams are treated differently, but I'll be very interested to see if anything comes of this outside of the linesmen getting fucked over.
  14. If the linesman gets punished and Robertson doesn't, it would be beyond a joke. He grabbed the linesman by the arm and the guy shrugged him off, catching him in the process. Now, if Kavanagh had just done that to Mitro instead of red carding him, we might have done a bit better in these last few games >_>
  15. As a Fulham fan amongst a number of West Ham fans in the family, I'm not sure how we can be having the season we have had (until now) and they be having the season they are having in general, yet we lost both games to them.
  16. Anyone played Skyrim on the Switch? Once again being tempted to buy more games...
  17. I have BD2 and I wasn't a huge fan of OT the original, so don't really fancy the sequel. Tbf I probably don't need any more games, but yanno...
  18. Has anyone played The Alliance Alive game on the Switch? If so, any good? I've seen largely decent, if unspectacular review.
  19. Lazy answer, but you can find a lot of videos on Youtube covering this exact thing due to how close the shop is to closing down. Worth having a look as it seems like there are quite a few decent games that will disappear unfortunately.
  20. Taking this more as a moment than a game, there was something really special about the moment you left the vault in Fallout 3 and got a sense of just how vast the world you were walking into felt.
  21. Since Metropolis got mentioned, I'll throw in a recommendation for Sunrise if we are going down the silent movie route. Watched it recently and I think it narratively still holds up today.
  22. What's the Criterion Challenge? Also, I watched 'The Earrings of Madame de...' recently and that was excellent. Placed on the 'Sight and Sound' poll and was just a superb film that I'd never heard about before reading the list. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Earrings_of_Madame_de…
  23. Poor defending by Tosin on that goal. Was always likely.
