  1. But acting like the guy is a convicted criminal when no charges were even filed is completely kosher right? Why is this a society that is so quick to pass judgment? Someone accuses someone of something and they are immediately guilty, no matter how little factual evidence there is. I have never said the guy is infallible. I believe I also called him out for allowing alcohol to get him into these kinds of situations. Where I differ from the rest of you is that I do not find it funny, nor do I find it ethical to continually act like a guy who has never even been charged with a crime, is guilty. No one wants to look into the circumstances or bring up the facts of the case. It's easier to just say "lol, rapistberger" and be done with it. But the second someone tries to be the dissenting voice and point out that the guy wasn't even charged with a crime, that someone is immediately "despicable" or "pathetic." What's truly despicable is the way people are so quick to convict a guy, regardless of evidence. This is a country where you are innocent until proven guilty but instead of holding ourselves to that standard, it's easier and it's more fun to take the tabloid mentality and immediately assume a guy is guilty. I've done it in the past too, but I won't do it again. That proves nothing. Is it questionable? Absolutely. Is it entirely out of the realm of possibility that Ben did something wrong? Of course not. But is it also entirely plausible that nothing illegal took place (outside of underage girls drinking, which isn't Ben's fault.)? Yes. Anyone who takes the time to truly look at the case objectively will see that there is nothing more than the flimsiest of evidence to say that Ben did something illegal. But that doesn't matter because it's much more fun to just label him a rapist and be done with it. Why am I being blamed? I didn't bring this up.
  2. According to the court of law, he hasn't. I thought we were innocent until proven guilty in this country. What evidence? There's just as much evidence to indicate that the drunk girl and her friends made the whole thing up. And zero physical evidence that she and Ben did anything at all. That will be the last thing I say about the topic as long as people stop bringing it up.
  3. Far from that. How about we just root for the team that doesn't have a rapist at QB? How can you root for both teams?
  4. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Thanks for losing, Pats! Now I get to cover one more game at Heinz Field this season! Just wanted to point out that Brady and the Patriots haven't won a damn thing since Spygate. I'm worried about the Jets. The way they seem to hang out and win games they should probably lose scares me. But I trust Ben over any other QB left in the playoffs.
  5. What do you want the Pitt staff to say? "He sucked and we hated him. We have no idea why Walt Harris recruited him?" Nothing in that article disproves what I said. He couldn't beat out Tyler Palko. Of course they're heaping praise on the guy, it's a feature story. They aren't going to sit down and tell some reporter that Flacco sucked. How would that make them look to future recruits? The bottom line is Pitt felt more comfortable with Palko's ability to lead the team and his ability to make plays in big situations. I have 100% confidence that that is the main reason Palko started over Flacco.
  6. So have Kyle Boller, Tommy Maddox, Mark Malone, Shaun King, Alex Smith, etc. Lots of awful QBs get the chance to start so don't act like Flacco being a starter somehow validates him. My point was that Flacco had superior tools to Palko. He's bigger, stronger, has a MUCH better arm, but he couldn't beat Palko out because the Pitt coaching staff didn't think he was as good a leader as Palko. They wouldn't release Flacco from his scholarship because they wanted to hold onto him in hopes that he would grow into more of a leadership role after Palko graduated. Now I'm not saying Flacco can't learn those skills. But he is not natural when it comes to being poised in the pocket. Tonight was literally the first time I ever saw him play against the Steelers where he didn't tuck the ball and fall to the ground at the first sign of trouble at least once. He has yet to show any real improvement in the areas of his game that are lacking. He still forces the ball to receivers who aren't open, he still doesn't read his progressions properly, and he still panics in the face of a pass rush. At this point in his career, we know what Joe Flacco is. A mediocre QB with an elite NFL arm. Can he get better? Yes. Will he? I don't know. With Flacco, the Ravens are 3-11 against Pittsburgh, Indy, and New England. Two of those wins came against backup QBs.
  7. This isn't a rookie QB we are talking about anymore. He's been a NFL QB for 3 years now. Lets not compare him to Tyler Palko. If you want to play that game, Peyton Manning was behind Todd Helton on Tennessee's depth chart and Tom Brady was behind Drew Henson! But those guys eventually started. Flacco had to transfer to fuckin' Delaware to get a chance to play.
  8. Flacco just doesn't have the poise to be a winner. That pass he floated to a double-covered Todd Heap is proof positive of that. Flacco only looks at his first read before scrambling to find Heap or Rice. Take those guys away and he's in trouble. The guy has a great arm, but he couldn't beat out Tyler Palko at Pitt. There was certainly a reason for that.
  9. He was still in the negative in TD/INT ratio. And his yardage average is inflated due to that 47 pass performance in New England. His yards per attempt (pretty much the best indicator of QB passing success) was only 6.75 which is pretty average. Not to mention the Colts' defense was stifling and they actually had a running game. They were able to rely on those aspects when Peyton was essentially not playing well. EDIT: To take it even further in the regular season the Colts had the league's worst rushing defense (5.3 yards per attempt). In the playoffs they gave up an average of 4.1 which is a huge difference, and would have put them above average in the league for that year. Mannings yards per attempt number dropped to 6.75 from 7.9. 6.75 during the regular season would put him just ahead of Bears QB Rex Grossman, right in the middle of the pack. But the Colts rushing offense was 4.0 ypa in the regular season, and 4.0 ypa in the post-season. But they ran the ball more. So their running game stayed the same, their run defense improved, and Manning's production dropped in that playoff run.
  10. Except for that year they won the Super Bowl.
  11. I am far more fair than I am given credit for. Am I a homer at times? Absolutely. But who isn't?
  12. Seriously, I'm not even that bad. If you people get so butthurt about me defending my team then you probably should stay away from the majority of NFL fan sites and message boards. Jesus. ----- Great game today. Even when the Steelers were down 14 at the half I knew the game wasn't over. When you have Ben Roethlisberger, you have a chance to win every game. Especially when the opposing team is throwing Joe Flacco at you. What a dominant 3rd quarter performance by the Steelers defense, literally one of the best of all-time I'd think. You won't find too many teams forcing their opponent into consecutive drives ending with fumble, punt, interception, fumble. Ravens offense in the third quarter ran 9 plays, and had a total of -4 yards.
  13. Wow not sure how I missed Bud Grant and Marv Levy. If Jeff Fisher is in Tennessee for two more season he'll tie the record. I will be sure to take note. Thanks!
  14. Fisher should have to do a lot more than just make the playoffs. He has to be one of the most overrated coaches ever, in any sport. And unless I missed somebody, I looked it up and he is the longest reigning coach in major American professional sports history to never win a Championship. No one has coached one team for 16 years without winning at least one title.
  15. OJ was charged. Ben wasn't. Just saying.
  16. How is that relevant? Ben wasn't charged with any crime. In the court of law, he's innocent. Yes clearly I am delusional for not crucifying a guy who wasn't charged with any crime just because some drunk girls who followed him from bar to bar, and then could not get their stories straight on what happened, who may have colluded to make up the entire incident said he did something against her will. I've never claimed Ben wasn't an idiot for putting himself in that situation. That is obvious. I apologize if my unwillingness to go along with the "LOL BIG BEN RAPIST" bullshit is a problem to anyone.
  17. Yeah because clearly I was being serious.
  18. It's Big Ben. I see that. I still don't see a rapist anywhere.
  19. That's an inaccurate description of that video. I don't see a rapist anywhere.
  20. I would argue that Lawrence Timmons deserves a Pro Bowl nod over Ray Lewis and Jerod Mayo but I find it hard to complain when justice was served and Maurkice Pouncey was named the backup center. Too bad his early February date in Dallas, Texas is going to preclude him from playing in Hawaii.
